Joseph B. Barker Jr.
Joseph Bedward "Joe" Barker Jr., 85, died Jan. 28, 2005, at Hospice House.
He was born July 12, 1919, at Sullivan, Ind., the son of Joseph Bedward and Stella A. Cummins Barker Sr. A longtime Hutchinson resident, he was a retired salesman for Montgomery Ward.
He belonged to First Baptist Church, Hutchinson.
On Nov. 28, 1942, he married
Lena A. Dale at Hutchinson. She survives.
Other survivors include: three sons, Joseph Bedward Barker III, Carlsbad, N.M., Wendell J. Barker, Ottawa, and Jay Perry, Hutchinson; a daughter, Carol J. Lynch, Scottsdale, Ariz.; a sister, Mary Harris, El Paso, Texas; eight grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Rozanna Lux.
Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Elliott Mortuary Chapel, Hutchinson, with Pastor Jim Autry presiding. Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday, Monday and Tuesday, with the family receiving friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, at the funeral home. Burial will be in Penwell-Gabel's Memorial Park cemetery.

Shirley A. Ipson
Shirley A. Ipson, 65, died Jan. 31, 2005, at Hutchinson Hospital.
She was born March 27, 1939, at rural Alden, the daughter of Edward C. and Frances L. Stout Biggs. A longtime Hutchinson resident, she graduated from Haven High School with the Class of 1957. She worked as secretary for Kansas Power & Light Co. Service Center, retiring in 1995. She also worked for a short time for First Baptist Church, Hutchinson, and volunteered for RSVP.
She belonged to First Baptist Church, Hutchinson, and Koinoia Sunday school class.
On June 21, 1963, she married
Jay L. Ipson. He survives.
Other survivors include: a brother, Clarence Biggs, Seattle; and a sister, Phyllis Krehbiel, Hutchinson; three nephews; and five nieces.
She was preceded in death by her parents; infant brother; and a sister.
Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Elliott Chapel, Hutchinson, with Pastor Jim Autrey and Pastor Gary Salmans presiding. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday at Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson. Burial will be in Penwell-Gabel's Memorial Park cemetery, Hutchinson.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be sent to the church, in care of the mortuary.
Robert N. Owens
Robert N. Owens, 82, died Dec. 20, 2004, at Hutchinson Hospital.
He was born Jan. 26, 1922, at Barnsdall, Okla., the son of John and Ollie Davis Owens. A longtime resident of Hutchinson, he was a former employee of Hutchinson Bag Co., and city of Hutchinson.
He married
Cecil D. Owens. She died in 1987.
Graveside service will be at 2:30 p.m. Monday in Eastside cemetery, Hutchinson.

Eva M. McLean
PARTRIDGE - Eva Marie McLean, 97, died Dec. 27, 2004, at Buhler Sunshine Home, Buhler.
She was born April 16, 1907, at Partridge, the daughter of Fred and Lucy Walters Hirst. A lifetime resident of Reno County, living in the Partridge and Buhler communities, she was a 1925 graduate of Partridge High School. She was a homemaker.
She belonged to Partridge Community Church, serving as Sunday School teacher.
On Sept. 30, 1926, she married
Fargie McLean at Hutchinson. He died Dec. 20, 1984.
Survivors include: three sons, Kenneth, Sylvia, Frederick, Park Dale, Ore., and Glen, Reeds, Mo.; a daughter, Neomi Friesen, Buhler; eight grandchildren; 3 stepgrandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; 4 stepgreat-grandchildren; and 5 great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by tree brothers, Fritz, Birt and Walter Hirst; and three grandsons, Larry and Mark McLean, and Merlin Jackson.
Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Elliot Chapel, Hutchinson, with Pastor Keith A. Dellenbach presiding. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesday and from 9 a.m. to service time Thursday at Elliot Mortuary. Burial will be in Partridge cemetery.

Cyria Stanfill
Cyria Stanfill, 80, died Feb. 1, 2005, at Hutchinson Hospital.
She was born Aug. 8, 1924, at Manila, Phillippines. She graduated from University of Manila and McPherson College School of Nursing. A Hutchinson resident since the mid-1940s, she was a retired licensed practical nurse, working at the former Grace Hospital, Hutchinson Hospital and Mennonite Manor, South Hutchinson.
In December 1945, she married
Arthur Stanfill at Manila. He died Feb. 6, 1999.
Survivors include: four sons, Robert, Seattle, Steve, Hutchinson, Stanley, Duluth, Ga., and Arthur Jr., Wichita; a daughter, Diana Wilson, South Hutchinson; a stepbrother, Ramon, New York City; 12 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two sisters.
Graveside service will be at 10 a.m. Friday in Eastside cemetery, Hutchinson, with Father Ned Blick presiding. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday at Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson.
Barbara E. Kuhns
ARLINGTON - Barbara Ellen Kuhns, 70, died Feb. 2, 2005, at Hutchinson Hospital.
She was born Feb. 9, 1934, at Hutchinson, the daughter of Lloyd and Edna Vermillion Harper. A longtime resident of Arlington, she was a homemaker.
On July 12, 1952, she married
James Bradford Kuhns at Arlington. He died Aug. 26, 1984.
Survivors include: two sons, Randy, Haysville, and Victor, Arlington; two daughters, Sharon White, Hutchinson, and Penni Osenbaugh, Turon; a brother, Arthur Harper, Wichita; three sisters, Elsie Ryan, Anthony, Carolyn Marsh, Arlington, and Shirley Malm, Lindsborg; seven grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, Harold and Bud Harper.
Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Heritage Chapel, Hutchinson. Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. today at Heritage Chapel. Burial will be in Arlington City cemetery.

Richard L. Arell
Richard Lee "Rick" Arell, 42, died Feb. 1, 2005, at Hutchinson Hospital, Hutchinson.
He was born July 3, 1962, at Sterling, the son of Bobby and Betty Cain Arell. He was a 1980 graduate of Sterling High School and attended Sterling College on a football scholarship. A Hutchinson resident for 22 years, formerly of Sterling, he was employed by Wildcat Construction, Wichita, and had worked for Haven Steel Co. for 17 years.
He belonged to the American Pool Players Association and to the National Rifle Association.
Survivors include: his mother, Betty Boltz, Hutchinson; two sons, Cameron and Coby, both of Haven; two daughters, Jamie Arell, Inman, and Katie, Haven; three brothers, Tim Arell, Lyons, and Jim Boltz and Bob Boltz, both of Sterling; two sisters, Robbyn Boltz and Cindy Arell, both of Hutchinson; and a grandson.
He was preceded in death by his father; his stepfather, Bob Boltz Sr.; and grandparents, Marvin and Virginia Cain and Harold and Gladys Arell.
Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Sillin Funeral Home, Sterling, with Pastor Wayne Johnson presiding. Visitation will be from 2 to 5 p.m. Thursday and from 10 a.m. until service time Friday, both at the funeral home. Burial will be in Lerado cemetery, rural Reno County.
