Steve Gross
Steve Gross, 60, died Jan. 20, 2005, at his home, Hutchinson.
He was born Nov. 11, 1944, at Hutchinson, the son of G. Jerry and Alpha Porter Gross and stepmother Virginia Gross. A longtime resident of Hutchinson, formerly of Overland Park and Albuquerque, N.M., he was a special design manager for Central Air Conditioning Co., Wichita.
He belonged to Sheet Metal Workers International Association Local No. 29. He served in the U.S. Army 1st Calvary Division during Vietnam from 1963 to 1965.
Survivors include: a son, Scott Steven Gross, Olathe; a daughter, Kristy Coup, Fountain Hills, Ariz.; and three grandchildren, Derek Green, and Shelby and Jackson Coup.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and stepmother, Virginia Gross.
Cremation has taken place. Memorial service will be at 3 p.m. Sunday, at Elliott Mortuary Chapel, with Pastor Melvin Walton presiding. Friends may sign the register book 9 a.m. to service time Sunday.

H. Allen Hannah
H. Allen Hannah, 92, died Jan. 17, 2005, at Hutchinson Hospital.
He was born June 23, 1912, at Caldwell, Idaho, the son of Henry Van Dyke and Jesse May Bayless Hannah II.
His formative years were spent on an Idaho ranch and his family moved to Los Angeles when he was nine. He graduated from Gardena High School at California. He worked for the U.S. Post Office in Los Angeles, where he was a mail carrier, and later promoted to Superintendent of Rt. Examinations, directing mail flow through the more than fifty Los Angeles post offices via several thousand carriers. After retiring he and his wife, Esther Frazer Hannah moved to Rogers, Ark., where she passed away after 62 years of marriage.
He belonged to First Presbyterian Church, Rogers, Ark., and attended Northminster Presbyterian Church, South Hutchinson, after moving in recent years.
Survivors include: his wife, Margaret R. Hannah, of the home; a step-son, Craig Mouttet, Maperville, Ill.; stepdaughter, Valerie Mouttet, Council Bluffs, Iowa, ; sister-in-law, Arlene Civish, Cottonwood, Ariz., who lived with Allen and Esther during her teen years; a nephew, Tom Hannah; and four nieces, Dr. Gale Civish, Joy Civish Cave, Marilyn Hannah Robinson and Margaret L. Hannah.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Esther; a son, their only child, Wayne Allen Hannah, during his childhood; a brother, Thomas Arnold Hannah; and a sister, Mary Evelyn Hannah.
Cremation has taken place. Memorial service will be at 3 p.m. Tuesday at Mennonite Manor Chapel, South Hutchinson, with the Rev. Skip Johnson presiding.

C. J. Hartman
LITTLETON, Colo. - C.J. Hartman, 77, died Sept. 8, 2004, at a Denver hospital.
He was born July 16, 1927, at Hutchinson, the son of Maurice and Bernice Hartman. He graduated from Hutchinson High School. A resident of Littleton, Colo., formerly of Hutchinson, the Kansas City area and Olathe, he had worked for REA, Line Construction, owned a real estate office and worked at Cessna.
He was a U.S. Army veteran.
On March 26, 1946, he married
Helen E. Jones. She survives.
Survivors include: a son; a daughter, Cathleen Sharon Hess, Hutchinson; a sister; six grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Cremation has taken place. A memorial service was held at the Lutheran Church in Littleton, Colo.
All State Cremation, Wheatridge, Colo., handled the cremation.
Helen Tiedtke
Helen Tiedtke, 95, died Oct. 1, 2004, at her home, Hutchinson.
She was born May 26, 1909, at Kinsley, the daughter of William Montgomery and Mattie Belle Cole Dale. A longtime Hutchinson resident, she was a homemaker.
She belonged to Eastwood Church of Christ, where for more than 50 years she taught bible school and was involved with children's religious education.
On Dec. 25, 1927, she married
Art Tiedtke at Hutchinson. He survives.
Other survivors include: a son, Bill, Fort Worth, Texas; four grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son, Gary, a daughter, Patricia, four brothers, Ervie, Wilbur, Eldon and Bill Dale, a sister, Stella Davis, a grandson and a great-grandson.
Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Eastwood Church of Christ, Hutchinson, with Duane Eggelston, Jimmie Keas and Pastor Harold Nelson presiding. Visitation will be from 1 to 9 p.m. Sunday and 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday at Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson. Burial will be in Penwell-Gabel Memorial Park cemetery, Hutchinson.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to the Art and Helen Tiedtke Endowed Scholarship Fund, in care of Eastwood Church of Christ, 2500 N. Plum, Hutchinson, KS 67502.
Pete B. Kocher
PLEVNA - Pete B. Kocher, 59, died Oct. 2, 2004, at Hutchinson Hospital.
He was born Aug. 16, 1945, at Pratt, the son of U. Floyd and Della Hembree Kocher. A longtime Stafford County resident, moving to Plevna in 1990, he was a welder and mechanic.
He belonged to the National Rifle Association.
Survivors include: four sons, P. Bruce, Louisiana, P. J., Beloit, R. L., West Plains, Mo., and U. S., Colorado; five brothers, Alvin and Joe, both of Stafford, Huey, Turon, Karl, Partridge, and Ike, Hutchinson; three sisters, Grace Evans and Liz Higgins, both of Geneseo, and Kathy Kocher-Brandt, Hutchinson; and two grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by: two brothers, Clyde and Clarence; and a sister, Alta Kazee.
Graveside service will be at 2 p.m. Monday in Stafford cemetery. Family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m. Monday at Minnis Chapel, Stafford.
Cristy James Yoder
Cristy James Yoder, 49, died Sept. 28, 2004, at Hospice House, Hutchinson.
He was born March 22, 1955, at Hutchinson, the son of Moses C. and Amanda Mae Nisly Yoder. A lifetime Hutchinson resident, he worked for Stutzman's Recycling.
He belonged to Center Amish Mennonite Church.
Survivors include: his mother, South Hutchinson; a sister, Delila Yoder and husband, Wilbur D., Hutchinson; three nephews; and a niece.
He was preceded in death by his father and a brother, John Paul Yoder.
Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Center Amish Mennonite Church, with David Yoder, Gary Miller, LaVerne Miller and Amos Nisly presiding. Visitation with the family will be from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, both at the church. Burial will be in West Center Amish cemetery.
