Ruth C. Good
Ruth C. Good, 94, died Sept. 27, 2004, at Wesley Towers, Hutchinson.
She was born Nov. 29, 1909, at Hutchinson, the daughter of Allan Warren and Ethelyn Meacham Archer. She graduated from Hutchinson High School in 1927 and from Hutchinson Junior College in 1932. Between her educations, she taught four years at North Reno School. She received her piano teacher certificate from Wichita College. She taught piano for more than 50 years.
She belonged to Trinity United Methodist Church, was a past president of Polyphonic Music Club, Hutchinson Piano Teachers' League and the Hearthstone Sunday School Class of the church. In her later years, she became interested in bridge and became a certified director of duplicate games. She served as manager of Womans' Duplicate Bridge Club for two years and later retired to teach bridge and direct duplicate games in her home.
Survivors include: a son, Norman Good, Lenexa; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Geraldine R. Good, and a brother, Paul Archer.
Graveside service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in Fairlawn Burial Park, with the Rev. Nick Warner presiding. Friends may sign the register brook from 5 to 9 p.m. Thursday and from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Friday at Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson.
Memorials may be sent to the Geraldine R. Good Memorial Scholarship Fund or the Polyphonic Music Club, both in care of the mortuary.
Ralph E. Cox
Ralph E. Cox, 77, died Oct. 7, 2004, at Dillon Living Center, Hutchinson.
He was born March 15, 1927, at Hutchinson, the son of John H. and Helen K. Martin Cox. He graduated from Hutchinson High School in 1945 and attended Hutchinson Junior College. A longtime Hutchinson/So. Hutchinson resident, he retired as a city planning engineer for the city of So. Hutchinson.
He belonged to Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, So. Hutchinson.
He served in the U. S. Coast Guard during World War II, and in the U. S. Army during the Korean Conflict.
On March 20, 1947, he married
Georgia A. Dooley at Hutchinson.
She died July 19, 1994.
Survivors include: three sons and their wives, Timothy E. and Luella, Lincoln, Neb., Ronald A. and Lynn, Wamego, and Michael L. and Linda Cox, Lincoln, Neb.; two daughters, Teresa Carlson, and companion, Kevin Keast, Hutchinson, and Jill A. Brown and husband Gary, Hutchinson; 11 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and a special friend, Dell Scherer.
He was preceded in death by: two sisters, Donna Bruce and Jeanette Scranton.
Funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Elliott Chapel, Hutchinson, with the Revs. Tim Soule and Helen Moore Spath presiding. Friends may call from 1 to 9 p.m. Saturday, and 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday, both at Elliott Mortuary. Family will receive friends prior to service from 10 to 10:30 a.m. at the mortuary.
Burial will be in Penwell-Gabel's Memorial Park cemetery, Hutchinson.

Neva Ruth Walborn Ellis
Neva Ruth Walborn Ellis, 84, died Oct. 8, 2004, at Buhler Sunshine Home.
She was born Oct. 14, 1919, at Gregory, Ark., the daughter of George H. and Clara Barnes Hamm. She attended Hutchinson schools and graduated from Adela Hale and Salt City Business Colleges. A longtime Arlington resident, moving to Hutchinson in 1965, she worked for Blackburn Cleaners, Reno Implement, Morton Interiors, was a bookkeeper for Evans Rental and owner of Stevie's Bridal Fashions.
She belonged to First Congregational Church, Hutchinson.
She was an avid bowler.
On Nov. 25, 1936, she married
Cecil Ervin Walborn at Hutchinson.
He died Sept. 22, 1984. On July 19, 1986, she married
Robert Eugene Ellis at Hutchinson.
He died March 1, 2001.
Survivors include: two sons, and their wives, Dick and Aida Walborn, Bellevue, Neb., and the Rev. Terry and Dora Walborn, Enid, Okla.; two brothers, Herbert Hamm, Zephyrhillis, Fla., and Tommy Hamm, Stillwell, Okla.; two sisters, Eva Evans and Shell Knob, Missouri; four grandchildren, Telisa, Laurie, Gary and Greg; nine great-grandchildren; and a great-great-granddaughter.
She was preceded in death by: a brother, Jimmie Hamm.
Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Arlington Presbyterian Church, with the Rev. Terry Walborn and Pastor Matt Stafford presiding.
Friends may call from 1 to 9 p.m. Sunday and 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday, both at Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson.
Burial will be in Arlington cemetery.

Albert Franklin 'Pansy' Epp
PRETTY PRAIRIE - Albert Franklin "Pansy" Epp, 81, died Oct. 7, 2004, at Pretty Prairie Sunset Home.
He was born April 23, 1923, at Hutchinson, the son of Henry and Nettie Nuefeld Epp.
He graduated from Pretty Prairie High School in 1942 and served in the U.S. Army from 1943 to 1945.
Following his discharge from the Army, he worked for H. E. Epp Standard Station, Pretty Prairie, Ark Valley Creamery, Hutchinson, hauling cream and eggs, and was a custom wheat harvester. He also retired as a farmer.
He belonged to First Mennonite Church, Pretty Prairie, where he served as Sunday School teacher and superintendent, Kansas Livestock Association and Kansas Pork Producers.
He was a former member of Pretty Prairie City Council and Prairie Sunset Home Board of Directors.
He was active with Mennonite Disaster Service.
On June 1, 1947, he married
Neoma Krehbiel at Pretty Prairie. She survives.
Other survivors include: two sons, Ed and wife Sherry, Independence, Kan., Larry and wife Monica, Pretty Prairie; a sister, Bernice Wiegand; and four grandchildren, Leslie, Nathan, Tyler and Justin.
He was preceded in death by: his parents; and two sisters.
Funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at First Mennonite Church, Pretty Prairie, with Pastor Lester Zook presiding.
Visitation will be from 1 to 8 p.m. Sunday, with family receiving friends from 6 to 8 p.m., at Livingston Funeral Home, Kingman.
Burial will be in First Mennonite Church cemetery, Pretty Prairie.

Anthony Wesley 'Tony' Thomas
FORT HUACHUCA, Ariz. - Anthony Wesley "Tony" Thomas, 29, died Sept. 5, 2004, at his home.
He was born Aug. 6, 1975, at Hutchinson, the son of James S. Thomas and Rose M. Jenkins Looper.
He attended Hutchinson High School and Hutchinson Community College.
He moved to Fort Huachuca from Hutchinson six months ago.
He was a Customer Service Representative for American Express.
On March 13, 2003, he married
Donna Ex at Hutchinson. She survives.
Other survivors include: a stepdaughter, Mackinzie Ex, Fort Huachuca; his father, James S. Thomas and wife, Teri, Larned; his mother, Rose Looper, Hutchinson; a brother, Christopher Thomas, Hutchinson; a stepbrother, Brandon Stegman, Larned; and a nephew. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Thomas and Charolette Jenkins, and Clifford and Edith Thomas.
Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Heritage Funeral Home Chapel, Hutchinson, with Pastor Eldon Smith presiding.
Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. Friday, with the family present from 6 to 7 p.m., at the funeral home.
Burial will be in Penwell-Gabel's Memorial Park cemetery, Hutchinson.
Judy L. Knerr Dodge Brown
Judy L. Knerr Dodge Brown, 49, died Sept. 1, 2004, at her home in Hutchinson.
She was born Sept. 30, 1954, at Hutchinson, the daughter of John W. and Caroline E. Knerr.
A lifetime Hutchinson resident, she was a former Hutchinson Hospital housekeeper.
She belonged to First United Methodist Church.
She married
Michael Eugene Dodge. She then married
Tony Brown.
Survivors include: a son, John Michael Dodge, Hutchinson; a daughter, Kendra Sue Duggan, Hutchinson; her mother, Hutchinson; a brother, Ronald Dean Knerr, Dallas; and five grandchildren.
Graveside service will be at 4 p.m. Friday in Fairlawn Burial Park, with Pastor Mark Conard presiding. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday at Heritage Funeral Home, Hutchinson.
