Esther M. Bogner
HAVEN - Esther M. Bogner, 91, died Jan. 15, 2001, at Mt. Hope Nursing Center, Mt. Hope.
She was born Dec. 28, 1909, at Chivington, Colo., the daughter of Philip and Mary Jane Jenkins Sarah.
A former resident of Las Animas, Colo., moving to the Haven and Burrton area in 1942, she was a clerk for Haven Electric, Haven, a homemaker and farm wife.
She belonged to Congregational United Church of Christ, Haven, Mayflower Circle, and was a charter member of the Haven Senior Center.
On June 20, 1928, she married
Harry R. Bogner at Eads, Colo.
He died July 25, 1987.
Survivors include: a son, Vernon, Hutchinson; two daughters, Wanda Pritchett and Nelda Geffert, both of Haven; three sisters, Ruth Morton, Las Animas, Colo., and Margaret Mays and Hazel Osborn, both of Eads, Colo.; eight grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Richard Sarah, and a sister, Edith Bogner.
Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Van Campen Funeral Home, Haven, with Pastor Ken Moore presiding.
Friends may call from 3 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
Burial will be in Valley Township cemetery, rural Burrton.
Memorials may be sent to the church, Haven Senior Center, or the Mt. Hope Nursing Home, all in care of the funeral home.
Norma Caley
HAVEN - Norma Caley, 76, died Oct. 24, 2004, at The Hutchinson Hospital ICU.
She was born Aug. 13, 1928, at Nashville, Kan., the daughter of John Henry and Hazel Margaret Boyett Wilson.
She attended Sterling High School.
She was a 55-year resident of Hutchinson before moving to Haven in June of 2004.
She was a retired cashier, working for a number of years with Jack and Jill, Smith Market and Dollar General Store.
She belonged to First Christian Church, Hutchinson.
On May 31, 1945, she married
Wilbur Ward Caley at Sterling. He died July 6, 1979.
Survivors include: two sons, Ron and Larry, both of Hutchinson; two daughters, Brenda J. Shive, Haven, and Judith "Judy" A. McKenna, Hutchinson; a brother, Gary Wilson, Redondo, Wash.; 16 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a grandson; two brothers, John and Bobby Wilson; and a sister, Pauline Crosley.
Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Elliott Chapel, Hutchinson, with Jimmie Keas presiding.
Visitation is 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. today, with the family receiving friends from 6 to 8 p.m., at Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson.
Burial will be in Fairlawn Burial Park, Hutchinson.

Charles F. Preisser
HAVEN - Charles F. Preisser, 79, died Nov. 22, 2004, on his farm, near Haven.
He was born Feb. 21, 1925, in Reno County, the son of Peter and Kathrine Schafer Preisser.
A lifetime Reno County resident, he was a farmer, retiring in 2003.
He was a member of the Haven and Andale Co-op and also worked for Cudahay, Wichita, for 21 years.
He belonged to St. Joseph Church, Ost, and was a member of and served on the Holy Name Society.
He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and served in the Philippines and Japan Campaign.
On Sept. 2, 1948, he married
Lucille L. Dechant at St. Mary's Cathedral, Wichita. She survives.
Other survivors include: a son, Donald Preisser, Broomfield, Colo.; three daughters, Gerry Milburn, Fort Collins, Colo., Marilyn Forbes, Hutchinson, and Cynthia Snodgrass, Haven; two sisters, Maxine Meyer, Conway Springs, and Margaret Cupps, Wichita; seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a son, Kenny Preisser; and three brothers, Jim, Glen and Pete Preisser.
Rosary will be at 7 p.m. Thursday at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Ost.
Funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at the church with Fathers Ivan Eck and Paul Dechant presiding.
Visitation will be from 3 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Van Campen Funeral Home, Haven.
Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Masses may be given in his name, in care of the funeral home.
Dorothy L. Heape
PRETTY PRAIRIE - Dorothy L. "Dottie" Heape, 80, died Feb. 1, 2005, at Prairie Sunset Home, Pretty Prairie.
She was born April 15, 1924, at Perry, Okla., the daughter of Albert Leo and Martha Elizabeth Schomaker Pricer.
A longtime Hutchinson resident before moving to Pretty Prairie in 1977, she was a 1941 graduate of Hutchinson High School.
She worked for Dillon Stores Division from 1958 until retiring in 1981.
She was a former member of Zion Lutheran Church and belonged to Teamsters Union Local No. 795.
On Dec. 23, 1952, she married
Elmer J. Heape in Cowley County.
He died Aug. 13, 2002.
Survivors include: two sons, Fred J. Heape, Pocatello, Idaho, and Billy Paul Butler, Okla.; a brother, Harold Pricer, Fairfield, Calif.; six grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, Paul and Robert Pricer.
Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Elliott Chapel, Hutchinson.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday at Elliott Mortuary.
Burial will be in Pleasant Hill cemetery, Darlow.

Helen E. Krehbiel
PRETTY PRAIRIE - Helen E. Krehbiel, 91, died Oct. 3, 2004, at Prairie Sunset Home, Pretty Prairie.
She was born Aug. 10, 1913, at Arlington, the daughter of Christian P. and Anna Albright Graber.
A longtime Pretty Prairie resident, she was a homemaker.
On Aug. 6, 1933, she married
Robert T. Krehbiel.
He died Feb. 12, 1986.
Survivors include: a son, Alvin, Pretty Prairie; five daughters, Janet Epp, Mount Prospect, Ill., Joan Jost, Hillsboro, Jane Kaufman, Pretty Prairie, Mary Ann Boschmann, North Newton, and Karen Kaufman, Moundridge; 16 grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.
Funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at First Mennonite Church, Pretty Prairie, with Pastor Lester Zook presiding.
Visitation will be from 1 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, with the family present from 6 to 8 p.m., at Livingston Funeral Home, Kingman.
Burial will be in First Mennonite Church cemetery.
