Gertrude Marie Shuck
GREENSBURG - Gertrude Marie Shuck, 92, died Jan. 5, 2001, at Mayfair Center, Tulsa, Okla.
She was born Nov. 5, 1908, at Tyristand, Norway, the daughter of Charles Johan Eagen and Anna Fredricksen Hansen. A Greensburg resident since the 1980s, formerly of Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, rural Bren-ham, and recently living in Columbia, Mo., and Broken Arrow, Okla., she was a homemaker.
She belonged to First United Methodist Church and Rebekah Lodge, both at Greensburg.
On Dec. 12, 1928, she married Guy Shuck at Indepen-dence, Mo. He died April 16, 1991.
Survivors include: three sons, Raymond, Broken Arrow, Edward, Topeka, and Dale, Cleburne, Texas; a daughter, Eileen Anderson, Columbia; 13 grandchildren; and 26 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Wanda Francis Shuck; a brother, Torlief Hansen; and three sisters, Ellen Rehn, Elsie Bernard and Ruth Wheeler.
Funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at First United Methodist Church, Greensburg, with the Rev. Lawrence Lambert Jr. presiding. Friends may call from 3 to 7 p.m. today Fleener Chapel, Greensburg. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery, Greensburg.

Josephine C. Enslinger
FORT DODGE - Josephine C. Enslinger, 91, died Jan. 5, 2001, at Kansas Soldiers Home, Halsey Hall, Fort Dodge.
She was born Jan. 6, 1909, at Schoechen, the daughter of Frank and Anna Basgall Befort. A Fort Dodge resident since 1984, moving from Spearville, she was a retired housekeeper and homemaker.
She belonged to St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Spearville.
On Feb. 26, 1929, she married Jim Enslinger at Liebenthal. He died in September 1970.
Survivors include: a son, Jake, Hutchinson; three daughters, Edith Burghart, Oklahoma City, Joan Stegman, Offerle, and Mae Bowman, Spearville; two brothers, Eddy Before, Osborne, and Eugene Befort, Lyons; two sisters, Henrietta Younger, Antonio, and Mary Carlson, Phoenix; 15 grandchildren; and 23 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Bertha Enslinger; two brothers; and two sisters.
Vigil service will be at 4 p.m. today at St. John Catholic Church, Spearville. Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Monday at the church, with Father Robert A. Schremmer presiding. Friends may call from noon to 3 p.m. today at Burkhart Funeral Chapel, Dodge City. Burial will be at 2 p.m. Monday in St. Joseph Cemetery, Liebenthal.

Gladys Eloise Rothenberger
LINDSBORG - Gladys Eloise Rothenberger, 79, died Jan. 4, 2000, at her home in Lindsborg.
She was born Dec. 16, 1921, at Parsons, the daughter of Frank-lin Rice and Dorothy Swaim. A resident of Lindsborg since 1996, moving from Osborne, she was a retired schoolteacher in Holy-rood and Osborne.
She was a past president of the Osborne County Genealogical and Historical Society and was a former Girl Scout and 4-H leader at Osborne.
On June 28, 1949, she married David Merrill Rothenberger at Parsons. He died in February 1979.
Survivors include: a daughter, Janie Tubbs, Lindsborg; a stepson, Waldon Rothenberger, Jasper, Ala.; a brother, Thomas Rice, Sedalia, Mo.; six sisters, Mildred Turkel, Coos Bay, Ore., Janice Wood, Bartlesville, Okla., Eunice Wheat, Overland Park, Jane Ellare Marshall, Worthington, Ohio, Regina Snider, Junction City, and Phyllis Middleton, Parsons; 10 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Hays-Christians Funeral Home, Lindsborg, with the Rev. Noni Strand presiding. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Osborne Cemetery.

Dorothy M. Leiker
GREAT BEND - Dorothy M. Leiker, 94, died Jan. 5, 2001, at Andover Health Care Center.
She was born Jan. 28, 1906, at Pfeifer, the daughter of Joseph and Katherine Rupp Basgal. A Great Bend resident for most of her life, she was a homemaker.
She belonged to St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, the Altar Society and the Daughters of Isabella, all at Great Bend.
On May 2, 1923, she married Anthony Leiker at Munjor. He died March 3, 1969.
Survivors include: two sons, Hubert Joseph, Augusta, and Lee, Bend, Ore.; two daughters, Edna Brandt, Portland, Ore., and Mary Francis Millburger, Seattle, Wash.; 22 grandchildren; and 35 great-grandchildren.
Altar Society rosary will be at 3 p.m. Monday at Bryant-Christians Funeral Home, Great Bend. Daughters of Isabella rosary will be at 6:30 p.m. Monday, followed by a vigil service, both at the funeral home. Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, Great Bend, with Father Angel Dy presiding. Friends may call from noon to 9 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

Mary O. Delgado
GARDEN CITY - Mary O. Delgado, 79, died Jan. 5, 2001, at Garden Valley Retirement Village, Garden City.
She was born Feb. 2, 1925, at Garden City, the daughter of Margarito and Guadalupe Reyes Ortiz. She attended schools in California and Holcomb. She and her family were migrant workers, traveling to California and Nebraska. She worked in the kitchen at St. Catherine Hospital, Garden City, for many years.
She belonged to St. Mary's Catholic Church.
On Dec. 19, 1953, she married Frank M. Delgado at Raton, N.M. He died Oct. 9, 1977.
Survivors include: a brother, Victor Ortiz, Hays; a sister, Maria Elena Sitz, Dodge City; and several nephews and nieces.
She was preceded in death by four brothers and five sisters.
Vigil service will be at 7 p.m. today, followed by a rosary, both at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Garden City. Funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at the church, with Father Carlos Garcia-Pena presiding. Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. today at Garnand Funeral Home, Garden City. Wanda M. Swank
Wanda M. Swank, 77, died Jan. 5, 2001, at Hutchinson Hospital.
She was born May 22, 1923, at Booneville, Ark, the daughter of Claude F. and Bertha Leigh Hill Eaglin. A longtime Hutchinson resident, she had attended Pratt schools and was a homemaker.
She was a member of Tenth Ave. United Methodist Church, Hutchinson, and the Keystone Sunday school class.
On Oct. 25, 1942, she married Lt. Dan Oaks. He died Jan. 6, 1961. On Sept. 19, 1977, she married James M. Swank at Hutchinson. He died Oct. 1, 1991.
Survivors include: a stepson, the Rev. Jim L. Swank; and a stepdaughter, Iola Derr, both of Hutchinson, and a cousin, Richard McKee, Garland, Texas.
Graveside service will be at 1:30 p.m. Monday, in Wildmead Cemetery, Nickerson, with the Rev. Alan D. Stambaugh presiding. Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. today and from 9 a.m. to noon Monday at Elliiott Mortuary, Hutchinson.

Melvin Sander
ARVADA, Colo. - Melvin Sander, 68, formerly of Victoria, died Jan. 5, 2001, at Hospice of St. John's Hospital, Golden, Colo.
He was born March 20, 1932, at Victoria, the son of Celestine and Pauline Stang Sander. An Arvada, Colo., resident for 40 years, he was a truck driver for Safeway Foods.
He belonged to Shrine of St. Ann's Catholic Church, Arvada.
Survivors include: his wife, Rosemarie Wanner Sander, of the home; three brothers, including Wilfred Sander, Hays; and two sisters, including Lillian Urban, La Crosse.
Vigil service will be at 7 p.m. today at Cline's Mortuary of Hays. Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Monday at the mortuary, with Father Frank X. Grinko presiding. Friends may call from 6 to 9 p.m. today and 9 to 10 a.m. Monday, both at the mortuary. Burial will be in St. Fidelis Cemetery, Victoria.
William D. McMaster
William D. McMaster, 83, died Jan. 5, 2001, at Hutchinson Hospital.
He was born Jan. 25, 1917, at Lancaster, Pa., the son of William Harold and Mary Smith McMaster. A Hutchinson resident, he was a retired master sergeant in the U.S. Air Force.
He belonged to Our Redeemer Lutheran Church, Hutchinson.
On Oct. 13, 1943, he married Barbara Borger at Phoenix. She survives.
Other survivors include: two sons, Dennis Craig, Derby, and Michael Alan, Wichita; and three grandchildren.
Memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church, Hutchinson, with the Rev. Thomas B. Mendenhall presiding. Cremation is planned. Inurnment will be at a later date in Stone School Cemetery, Meade.

HESSTON - Marjorie E. Beall, 73, died Jan. 5, 2000, at Newton Medical Center.
She was born Aug. 8, 1928, at Kansas City, Mo., the daughter of Gilbert and Mina Miller Shira. She was a homemaker.
She belonged to United Methodist Church, Dodge City.
On Sept. 2, 1942, she married Marion "Butch" Beall at Wichita. He died July 9, 1975.
Survivors include: a daughter, Linda Woodard, Tulsa, Okla.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Donald Lyle Shira.
Funeral services were held Saturday at Schowalter Villa Chapel, Newton. Family graveside service will be held at a later date in Maple Grove Cemetery, Dodge City.

ATTICA - Charlotte R. Biberstein, 57, died Jan. 6, 2001, at Via Christi Regional Medical Center, St. Francis Campus, Wichita.
She was born Nov. 11, 1943, at Hockerville, Okla., the daughter of Edward and Arawana Hollis Raines. A Corwin resident, she was a homemaker.
On Feb. 14, 1986, she married Frank Biberstein at Medicine Lodge. He survives.
Other survivors include: a son, Harold E. Nicholson, Norman, Okla.; a daughter, Angela Beszhak, Austin, Texas; her parents, Commerce, Okla.; a sister, Ellen Rea Sherwood, Miami, Okla.; and three grandchildren.
Graveside service will be at 2 p.m. Sunday in Attica Cemetery, with Pastor Bobby Franklin presiding.
