Alfred Riffel, 70, of Park City, died May 10, 2002. Service was May 13 at Carlson-Becker Funeral Home, Hope, with Rev. Clark Davis officiating. Burial was in Lewis cemetery, Ramona.

Christine Simonsen Darter, 85, of Valley Center, died May 12, 2002. She was a retired Valley Center elementary school cook. Service is at 1 p.m. today (Thursday) at First United Methodist Church. Burial will be at El Paso cemetery, Derby.

Gene Manning

Gene William Manning, 79, a resident of Medicalodge of Goddard, grandfather of Tammy Lies and great-grandfather of Christien Lies, both of Kechi, died May 6, 2002. He was a former Fredonia resident and custodian in the Fredonia public schools. Service was May 11 at First Assembly of God Church, Fredonia, with Rev. Howard Ansel Rice and Rev. Max Manning officiating. Burial was in Fredonia City cemetery with military rites by VFW Post 3018 and 5962.

Joseph Wilson Jr.

Joseph Alexander Wilson Jr., 92, of Valley Center, retired accounting cashier for Rock Island Railroad, died May 14, 2002.

Linis E. “Fitz” Fitzpatrick, 82, of Wichita, father and father-in-law of Jimmie and Vickie Fitzpatrick of Valley Center, died May 9, 2002. He was a retired McConnell Air Force Base welding shop civil engineer. Service was May 13 at Resthaven Mortuary, Wichita.

Goldie E. Newman, 90, formerly of Wichita, mother of John L. of Park City, died July 29, 2004. She was retired from Boeing Aircraft and Private Duty Home Care. Service was Aug. 2 at Downing & Lahey Mortuary East, Wichita.

Haskell Elmor “Hack” Booth, 81, of Augusta, brother and brother-in-law of Don and Wanda Booth of Valley Center, died July 29, 2004. He was a retired Tweco products maintenance supervisor. Service was Aug. 2 at Headley Funeral Chapel, Augusta, and at Harper cemetery.

Pamela Fisher

Pamela Sue Fisher, 43, of Hutchinson, sister of Bill Moore of Valley Center, died June 8, 2002, in an automobile accident on Highway 50 west of Newton. She was a Durham Transportation school bus driver. Also killed in the accident were her husband, Gerald D. Fisher Jr., 37, delivery driver; her son, Jarod S. Fisher, 5, and the Fishers’ niece, Tiffany Ann Matthews, 15, of Mulvane, high school student.

Roy Foster

Roy W. Foster, 67, of Park City, retired steel erector contractor, died June 11, 2002. Memorial service is at 3 p.m. Friday at Resthaven Mortuary, Wichita.

Michael Haas

Michael Kent Haas, 48, of Wichita, Sturdy Fence and Services Co. owner, died Feb. 8, 2004. The family will have a memorial service and receive friends from 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday at the Fraternal Order of Eagles #3251, 1855 S. Sedgwick, Wichita.
