Burial was at Kansas Veterans cemetery, WaKeeney, with military rites by the U.S. Marine Corps.

Paul Edwin Smith, 77, of Valley Center, retired Watkins Inc. employee, died Sept. 20, 2004. Service is at 1 p.m. today (Thursday) at Hillside cemetery, Sedgwick.

Pearline Stafford Lathrom, 74, stepmother of Rob Lathrom of Kechi, died Sept. 19, 2004. She was a foster parent and homemaker. Family visitation is from 5 to 7 tonight (Thursday), and service is at 10 a.m. Friday, both at Broadway Mortuary. Graveside service is at 1 p.m. Saturday at Greenwood cemetery, Bolivar, Mo.

Ruth Lovett

Ruth E. Lovett, 88, of rural Valley Center, died Sept. 21, 2004. Visitation is from 9:30 to 10 a.m. Friday at Baker Funeral Home, Valley Center, with a memorial service following. Private family burial will be at Kechi cemetery.

Sharon Kay Krauter, 58, of Wichita, mother of William Martin and sister of Dwight Edwin Jantz, both of Valley Center, died Sept. 19, 2004. Service is at 1 p.m. today (Thursday) at Resthaven Mortuary Chapel, Wichita. Burial will be at Resthaven cemetery.

A memorial service honoring Betty K. Bomar, who died May 3, 2004, that was scheduled for Sept. 5 at Walter Shikany’s Bonita Funeral Home, 28300 Tamiami Trial South, Bonita Springs, Fla., has been rescheduled to November due to Hurricane Frances.
