Mary Parks
Mary Etta Parks, 76, of Wichita, mother and mother-in-law of James Allan and Becke of Park City, died Feb. 17, 2005. She was a retired Chisholm Enterprises financial officer and owner of Calico Rabbit Gift Shop. Service was Feb. 19 at Resthaven Mortuary.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James H. Parks, and a brother, Larry Harvey.

Johnetta Vaughan
Johnetta Hanna Vaughan, 81, of Wichita, mother of Phyllis Norwood of Kechi, died Feb. 16, 2005. She was a homemaker. Service was Feb. 21 at Greater Holy Temple Church of God in Christ.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Aaron; parents, Mary and John Hanna; and a brother, Charles A. Davis.
Other survivors include her son, Cecil Brooks of Wichita; brothers, James Hanna, Connie Davis, Eugene Hanna, Robert Hanna, Wayne Hanna, Calvin Hanna, Dennis Hanna; sisters, Irene Black, Eva Williams, Mary Davis, Joyce Wickliffe; eight grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.

Ellison Headley
Ellison “Hoot” Headley, 80, of Wellington, father and father-in-law of Jolene and Tom Westhafer and grandfather of Jason, all of Park City, died Feb. 16, 2005. He was a lifelong farmer, fisherman, hunter and resident of Sumner County. Service was Feb. 21 at First United Methodist Church, Wellington.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Millie; a son, Jimmie; parents, William and Elizabeth; and brothers, George and Harold.
Other survivors include his son and daughter-in-law, Dale and Joy Headley of Wellington; brother, Herschel of Wellington; granddaughter, Michelle of Pheonix City, Ala.; and great-grandchildren, Kyonna, Adell, Shyann; and several nieces and nephews.

James Goodgion
James Crawford “Jim” Goodgion, 89, of Wichita, father and father-in-law of Janice and George Naylor of Wichita, died Nov. 26, 2003. He was a retired Coleman Co. engineer. Service was Dec. 1 at Pleasant Valley United Methodist Church, Wichita.
He was born Oct. 2, 1914, in Miller, Okla., the son of Lawrence Crawford Goodgion and Mary Elizabeth Clinkscales. He graduated from high school in Antlers, Okla., and attended Oklahoma University. He married
Lena Merle Dorris on Oct. 22, 1939, in Alva, Okla. She preceded him in death on Dec. 7, 1998. He worked for Cessna during World War II, and was a design engineer for Coleman until 1978. He and his wife were founding members of Pleasant Valley United Methodist Church in 1952, and continued to be active. He was an avid outdoorsman who also enjoyed gardening and woodworking. He and his wife enjoyed traveling throughout the United States.
Other survivors include his children and their spouses, Larry and Jenny Goodgion of Wilmington, N.C., Marilyn and Kenny Glenn of Cunningham; sister, Elizabeth Harrison of Richmond, Mo.; seven grandchildren and their spouses; and three great-grandsons.

Elmer Dellinger
Elmer S. Dellinger, 82, of Wichita, retired Boeing tool and die maker and former Valley Center shoe repair shop owner, died Nov. 28, 2003. Service was Dec. 3 at Kansas Masonic Home.
Survivors include his sons and daughters-in-law, Scott and Kathy Dellinger of Houston, Texas, Jack and Lee Dellinger of Denver, Colo.; daughter and son-in-law, Kay and Dennis Wilson of Wichita; brothers-in-law, Johnny Verboom, Jack Engel; five grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; four great-grandchildren, soon to be five; and five step-great-grandchildren.

Donald Rindt
Donald Robert Edward Rindt, 86, of Wichita, grandfather of Derek Rindt and great-grandfather of Tara Rindt, both of Valley Center, died Dec. 1, 2003. He was retired from Humphrey Product Inc. as director and secretary-treasurer. Service is at 11 a.m. today (Thursday) at Reformation Lutheran Church, 7601 E. 13th.
He was born April 17, 1917, on a farm near Lincolnville, the son of Emil Rindt and Clara Tiemeier. He graduated from Diamond Valley high School in Burdick, and attended Emporia State College and American Business College in Wichita, where he taught after graduation. He also taught four years at a rural elementary school at Ramona before entering the army on July 6, 1942. He accepted an appointment to field artillery school at Ft. Sill, Okla., where he was commissioned a second lieutenant on Aug. 12, 1943, then transferred to Ft. Meade, Md. He served in the Pacific Theater, and went to Japan after the war, on occupational duty with the 32nd Red Arrow infantry division. After his discharge April 13, 1946, he joined the Army Reserves, attaining the rank of captain before retiring in 1960. He received the Asiatic Pacific service, American service World War II and victory medals. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Florence Meyer; three older brothers, Harold, Milton and Alvin, and a younger sister, Luella Martin.
Other survivors include his wife, Dorothea; daughter and son-in-law, Paula and Dan Terry of Camden, Ark.; son and daughter-in-law, Craig and Elizabeth Rindt of Wichita; sister, Evelyn Herpich of Herington; grandchildren, Lanae Gaston, Dana Rogers, both of Camden; great-grandchildren, Sarah, Reid and Abigail Rogers, Brock Gaston, all of Camden.

Albert Schaar
Albert Herbert Schaar, 85, of Wichita, father and father-in-law of Merle Henry and Mary Schaar of Valley Center, died Nov. 25, 2003. He was a retired Beech Aircraft employee. Service was Nov. 28 at Riverlawn Christian Church.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Florence; two brothers; and two granddaughters.
Other survivors include his daughters and sons-in-law, Ara Ann and Dennis Duty, Brenda and Dennis Brack, all of Wichita; grandchildren, Shelly Norris, John Schaar, Andrew Schaar, Nancy Duling, Deana Snyder, Joel Duty, Becky Koster, Greg Brack, Chris Brack; 11 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Harold Clark
Harold Glenn Clark, 83, father and father-in-law of David and Donna Clark of Park City, died Oct. 28, 2003. He was past president of Local 201 and a retired commercial carpenter. Private family service.
He was born Feb. 15, 1920, in Richland, the son of Frances Perry Clark and Elva A. Jutton. They preceded him in death, as did his spouses, Faye W. McDonald Clark and Carol Sprague Clark; two brothers; and a sister.
Other survivors include his stepsons, Donald Johns of Wichita, Jerry Hahn of Portland, Ore.; stepdaughter, Patty Muich of Greeley, Colo.; two grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; six step-grandchildren; and two step-great-grandchildren.

Wayne Zabel
Wayne Warren Zabel, 92, of Valley Center, father of Larry Zabel of Valley Center, died Oct. 25, 2003. Graveside service was Oct. 29 at Wetmore cemetery, Wetmore.
He was born May 15, 1911, in Wetmore, the son of Charles W. Zabel and Leona Loveless. He spent his first 40 years in the Wetmore community, where he worked for his father in a hardware store. He also operated heavy equipment and transported cattle. He moved to Valley Center in 1952 and went to work for Beech Aircraft for 23 years. He was a longtime member of the Masonic Lodge and Order of the Eastern Star #439, both in Goff. He married
Therma M. Thomas on Dec. 2, 1933, in Platte City, Mo. She survives of Newton.
Other survivors include his sons, Dwayne G. Zabel of Belle Plaine; sisters, Maybelle Schmidt of Hastings, Neb., Edith Scott of Belle Plaine; four grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

Eunice Twomey
Eunice V. Stricklin Twomey, 77, of Sedgwick, mother of Diane Henderson Bradley of Valley Center, died Oct. 26, 2003.
She was born Feb. 25, 1926, in Bellview, Mo., the daughter of John F. Stricklin and Elizabeth Litton. They preceded her in death, as did her spouses, John S. Twomey and Jack Schidler, and sons, Sherman G. Twomey and Johnney Twomey. She was a former Stratton, Colo., resident.
Other survivors include her son, James Jackson of Deslodge, Mo.; brothers, Roy, Ralph and Ira Stricklin; sisters, Wanda McBride, Ruth Brewin; and 14 grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Warren White
Warren Amos White, 77, of Wichita, retired bookbinder for McCormick-Armstrong Company, died Oct. 11, 2003. Service was Oct. 15 at Family Worship Center. Entombment was at Lakeview Memorial Gardens Mausoleum.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 36 years, Ruth; father, Harry D. White Sr.; mother and stepfather, Juanita W. and Pete Vagana; and brothers, Harry White Jr., Claude White, Jim White and Frank Vagana.
Survivors include his daughters and son-in-law, Pattie and Don McCullough of Wichita, Linda Wells of Andover; son and daughter-in-law, Phil and Rachel Walkup of Wichita; grandchildren, Casey Walkup of Wichita, Bobby Walkup of New Alban, Iowa, Josh Wells of Oklahoma City, Okla., Balie and Sean Villagomez of Wichita, Ashley McCullough of Wichita; three great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Mary Margaret Black, 78, of Valley Center, retired Sedgwick County Tag Office bookkeeper, died Oct. 14, 2003. Memorial service is at 10 a.m. Saturday at Resthaven Mortuary, Wichita.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Mary Margaret Hartle.
Survivors include her daughters and sons-in-law, Jane and Ron Smith, Fran and Brett Black, both of Valley Center; son-in-law, Rodney Hartle of Overland Park; grandchildren, Staci and Dan Hershberger of Wichita, Ryan and Mandy Smith, Doug Black, Kevin Black, Blade Black, all of Valley Center; and a great-granddaughter, Leigha Smith of Valley Center.

Lois L. Turner Kilgore Williams, 72, of Wichita, died Oct. 13, 2003. Visitation is from 6 to 8 tonight (Thursday) at Baker Funeral Home. Service is at 11 a.m. Friday at First United Methodist Church, Valley Center.
Survivors include her daughter, Pamela A. Kilgore of Wichita; sons, Rocky Kilgore of Atlanta, Ga., Rusty Kilgore of Wichita; grandchildren, Jada, Justin, Erika, Brett, Lacy, Tom, Michael; great-granddaughters, Zoe and Kelsey; seven brothers; and five sisters.
