Olin Hiebert
Olin R. Hiebert, 82, of Park City, retired Heights High School English teacher, former mayor and current Park City council member, died Oct. 26, 2005. Service was Oct. 30 at Heights High School auditorium.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Lou Hiebert; daughter, Pamela Hiebert; two sisters, and a brother.
Survivors include his sons and daughters-in-law, Donald and Karla Hiebert of Kansas City, Mo., Richard and Kim Hiebert of Benton, Ky.; daughter and son-in-law, Eileen and Larry Clark of Toronto; seven grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren.

Ronda K. Engels
Ronda K. Engels, 40, of Wichita, sister and sister-in-law of Sarah Lynnett and James Smith of Valley Center, died Oct. 29, 2005, after a long battle with Huntington’s Disese. Service was Nov. 2 at Culbertson-Smith Mortuary, Wichita.
Other survivors include her daughter, Amanda, son, Cody, both of Wichita; parents, Dottie and John Myers of Wichita; sister and brother-in-law, Brenda and Dennis Calkins of Wichita; uncles, Clyde Burks of Overland Park, Fred Schaber of Shawnee Mission, Andrew Adney of Tulsa, Okla.

Amy Davey Hunter, 36, of Park City, died Feb. 13, 2006. Visitation is from 6 to 8 tonight (Thursday) at Baker Funeral Home, Valley Center. Service is at 11 a.m. Friday at Riverlawn Christian Church, Wichita. Burial is at 2 p.m. Friday at Kansas Veterans’ cemetery, 1208 N. College, Winfield.
Survivors include her husband, Scott Hunter; brothers, Matthew Davey, Chip Draper; sisters and brothers-in-law, Bonnie and Ken Lester, Gayle Draper, Jenny Davey, Virginia and John Blevins; parents, James and Cathy Draper, and grandparents, Richard and Jean Markham, Loren Burke.

CHARLES MOORE SR.
Charles E. “Pooh Charlie” Moore Sr., 82, spouse of Marilyn Dressler Moore, died Jan. 22, 2006, in Runnemede, N.J. He was a retired inventory manager for N.J. Gasket and volunteered for 40 years with the Runnemede Fire Company. Committal prayers were at New St. Mary’s cemetery, Bellmawr, N.J., and a Runnemede fire engine led the funeral procession to the cemetery. He and his wife were in the area often, visiting her stepmother, Velma Dressler; cousins, and aunts and uncle, Dorothy Miles and Ellen and Lloyd Hiatt.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother; two sisters; a daughter, Elizabeth Makaila, and a spouse, Elizabeth Moore.
Other survivors include his sons, Charles Jr. of Voorhees, N.J., Stephen of Los Angeles, Calif.; daughter and son-in-law, Mary and George Parnham of Houston, Texas; brother, Al of Glassboro, N.J.; and a host of grandchildren; step-grandchildren; two great-granddaughters; step-great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews, friends and golfing buddies.
DESTINY KELLEY
Destiny Renee Kelley, 6, of Wichita, student at Chisholm Trail Elementary in Park City, died Feb. 8, 2006. Service was Feb. 15 at Chisholm Trail Church of Christ.
She enjoyed playing with her siblings and Dora the Explorer doll, and with video games.
Survivors include her parents, Otis and Latreca Kelley. sister, Dessaray. brothers, Larry, Dominick, all of the home; grandparents, Velarie Marks of Richland Hills, Texas, Larry and Jaqueline Marks, Esta Kelley, all of Wichita, and great-grandmother, Janie Newman of Wichita.

GLENN FAHRENTHOLD
Glenn Richert Fahrenthold, 70, of Wichita, died Feb. 13, 2006. Memorial services are at 10 a.m. today (Thursday) at Reformation Lutheran Church, Wichita, and at 11 a.m. Friday at Atonement Lutheran Church, 9948 Metcalf, Overland Park. Burial will be at Johnson County Memorial Gardens in Overland Park.
He grew up in University Heights, Ohio, attending Cleveland Heights schools. He was a graduate of Western Reserve Academy, Hudson, Ohio, and Washington and Lee University with a bachelor’s in business administration. He was a member of Kappa Sigma fraternity. He served in the U.S. Army Transportation Corps at St. Eustis, Va., and as a captain in the active reserve. Glenn was employed in sales with companies primarily in the Kansas City area, selling large trucks, truck bodies and equipment. Firms included Kansas City Mack, Volvo-White and others. He married
Sally Brown Curtiss in Cleveland Heights. She survives. They moved to Prairie Village in 1964 and raised their family. In 1991, they moved to Wichita where his wife, Rev. Sally Fahrenthold, pastored Christ Lutheran Church until retirement. He was a member of Reformation Lutheran Church in Wichita. He served in Prairie Village on the sister cities committee, as a Republican precinct committeeman and was a volunteer with Metropolitan Lutheran Ministry of Kansas City. He enjoyed classical music, traveling and trucks. He was preceded in death by a son, Thomas Richert Fahrenthold, in 1983.
Other survivors include his daughter, Pamela Fahrenthold Clair of Shawnee; son and daughter-in-law, Scott Curtiss and Lindi Fahrenthold of Solomon; brother, Robert L. Fahrenthold of Wichita, and granddaughters, Rachel, Hannah, Jessica and Katrina Fahrenthold.

GLENN MANNING
Glenn Keith Manning, 56, of Wichita, Wescon Products supervisor, died Feb. 5, 2006, on the island of Kauai, Hawaii. A memorial service is at 6 tonight (Thursday) at First United Methodist Church in Valley Center.
He was born Nov. 9, 1949, in Fairfield, Iowa.
Survivors include his wife, Vicky; sons, Glenn Jason Manning of Arkansas, Eric Manning of Iowa; sisters, Marilee Emmert of Illinois, Kathy Steele of Iowa; brothers, Charles, Lonnie, both of Iowa, and mother, Marjory Manning.
Memorials have been established with Kauai Hospice, Jefferson County Park and the NRA. Kauai Memorial Gardens & Funeral Home assisted family with arrangements. Baker Funeral Home, Valley Center, had charge.
JANNA POWERS
Janna Louise Powers, 39, of Park City, died Feb. 12, 2006. Visitation is from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Baker Funeral Home Chapel, Valley Center. Service is at 11 a.m. Saturday at Park City Baptist Church, 1301 E. 61st North, Park City. Burial will be at Kechi Township cemetery.
She was born Aug. 5, 1966, in Wichita, the daughter of Richard “Dick” Powers and Genevieve “Jenny” Koehn. They survive of Park City. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Clara and Amel Koehn and Glenn and Bernice Powers.
Other survivors include her sister and brother-in-law, Juli and Ron Rhodes of Park City; brother, Jeffrey S. Powers of Wichita; nieces and families, Krysti Rhodes, Carolyn and Duane Davis, Crystal Powers, and nephews, Dickie D. and Stephanie Waggoner, Korey Rhodes, Korby Rhodes.
A memorial has been established with the church vacation Bible school fund.
M.J. NIEMANN
Marcian Joseph “M.J. Marc” Niemann, 78, of Anthony, father and father-in-law of Darrell and Wilma Niemann of Valley Center, died Feb. 8, 2006. Service was Feb. 13 at the Congregational Church in Anthony with Rev. Nathan Stanton officiating.
Graveside service was at Resthaven cemetery, Wichita.
He was born Feb. 14, 1927, in Leoville, the son of Anthony William Niemann and Anna Marie Boor. He attended school at Sharon, later moving to Anthony. He and his father once were employed by the Atchison, Topeka and Santa Fe railroad. He was denied enlistment in the military due to a medical misdiagnosis. He married
Belva Ellen Turner on Jan. 22, 1948. She survives.
He began working for the Kansas State Highway Commission and attended Wichita State University. He was a member of the United Methodist Church at Anthony and served with the State of Kansas Civil Defense Division, was a Webelos Scout leader and chaired the Anthony Housing Authority. He was clerk of the Anthony Auxilliary Fire Company. He retired as an office specialist in 1991 with the Kansas State Department of Transportation. He enjoyed fishing and picnicking at Anthony Lake and spending time with his grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers, Dale, Hilary and Joseph.
Other survivors include his son, Terry, who was born on his birthday, and daughter-in-law Jayne Niemann of Wichita; sisters and brother-in-law, Imelda McDonald of Irving, Texas, Mary Anna and Chester Veteto of Sand Springs, Okla., and grandchildren, Brett Niemann, Brianna Niemann, Christopher Niemann.
A memorial has been established with the church. Prairie Rose Funeral Home, Williams Chapel, Anthony, had charge.
MARION MOOBERRY
Marion Wesley Mooberry, 85, of Cheney, husband of Dora Mae Moore Snavely Mooberry of Cheney, formerly of Valley Center, died Feb. 10, 2006. He was a retired Cheney postmaster. Service was Tuesday at the United Methodist Church in Cheney.
He was born Feb. 22, 1920, the son of Elijah Marion Mooberry and Daisy May Henshaw. He was raised in Goddard, graduating from high school in 1938. He was a naval veteran of World War II and Korea, where he served as a lieutenant commander as a naval aviator. He was past worthy patron of Blue Lodge and a member of the oriental band. He was involved in motorcoach associations including Smart, Bounder and Good Sams, and was active in Cheney United Methodist Church. He was preceded in death by his wife, Helen Spurrier Mooberry; daughter, Susan Mooberry Humbolt; sister, Mabel McCoin, and brother, Lauren Mooberry.
Other survivors include his sons, Bruce Mooberry of Cheney, Brian Mooberry of Elgin, Ill.; stepsons, Fred Snavely of St. Louis, Mo., Rex Snavely of Salina; 10 grandchildren, and 10 great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorials have been established with the Susan Humbolt Scholarship Fund, Cheney United Methodist Church and Plane of Mercy, Midian Shrine of Wichita. Wulf-Ast Mortuary, Garden Plain, had charge.
MARJORIE HUDDLESTON
Marjorie Josephine Huddleston, 89, of Harper, mother of Karen Ashpole of Harper, formerly of Valley Center, died Feb. 7, 2006. Service was Feb. 10 at Prairie Rose Funeral Home, Harper Chapel, with Rev. Don Swender officiating. Burial was at Harper cemetery.
She was born Aug. 7, 1916, in Oklahoma, the daughter of Alvin Hughes and Orbay Chaney. She married
Glen Huddleston on Oct. 3, 1935, and they farmed and raised their family. He preceded her in death, as did her son, LeRoy Huddleston, two sisters and a brother. She was a member of Harper United Methodist Church, Order of the Eastern Star, Rebekah Lodge, home demonstration unit, and was a 4-H leader for many years.
Other survivors include her brothers, Larson Hughes of Tulsa, Okla., Warren Hughes of Peabody; sisters, Ruby Broce, Norma Reid, both of Anthony, Bernice Kaufman of Pretty Prairie, Doris Garner of Grandview, Mo.; grandchildren, Michelle Burns, Karla Brockus, both of Wichita, Steven Ashpole of Canton, and eight great-grandchildren.
A memorial has been established with Hospice Care of Kansas.
MARY ELLIS
Mary K. Slease Ellis, 88, of Wichita, grandmother of Lisa and Chris Strunk and great-grandmother of Raymond, Jeremiah and Samantha Strunk, all of Valley Center, died Feb. 13, 2006. She was a retired interior decorator. Service is at 10 a.m. Friday at Downing & Lahey Mortuary East.
She was a member of East Heights United Methodist Church and a Friends of Wesley Hospital volunteer. She was preceded in death by her parents, William Cody Slease and Lenora Hall; a daughter, Marilyn; brothers, Herbert, Merle, William and Charles, and sisters, Iva and Barbara.
Other survivors include her sons and daughters-in-law, Robert and Jane Ellis of Colorado Springs, James and Ann Ellis of La Jolla, Calif.; daughter and son-in-law, Judy and William Wellshear of Wichita; grandchildren, Bobby Ellis Jr., Debbie Elges, Sandy Pipkin, Joseph Cox III, Chris Ellis, Peter Ellis, Elizabeth Ellis; 10 great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandson; three nephews, and two nieces.

Sara Funk, 57, of Herington, mother and mother-in-law of Sam and Michele Funk of Park City, died Feb. 7, 2006. Service was Feb. 11 at First Mennonite Church, Herington.
Other survivors include her husband, Hank Shope; son, Chad Funk of Hillsboro; daughter, Cassandra Urban of Herington; mother, Tina Buller of Hillsboro, and four grandchildren.
VERA HALL
Vera M. Hall, 85, of Sarona, Wis., grandmother of Kristine Heinz and Debbie O’Rear of Valley Center and Michelle O’Rear of Park City, died Feb. 8, 2006. Memorial service is at 1 p.m. Saturday at Scalzo-Taylor Funeral Home, Spooner, Wis.
She was born Oct. 27, 1920, in Holdrege, Neb., the daughter of Harry Ellis and Verle Farlow. She was a former Wichita schoolteacher and also taught at West Elementary in Valley Center. She was a former Wichita resident. She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, William Ellis, and a son, Kenny “Curly” Hall, who died in 1989.
Other survivors include her husband, Hugh “Andy” Hall; children and spouses, Robert and Jan Hall, Cynthia and Robert Prior, all of Wichita, Bill Hall of Sarona; grandson, Brandon Prior of Wichita, and seven great-grandchildren.
