LEWIS FISHER

Lewis W. Fisher, 97, of Newton, grandfather of Deanna and Charles Miller of Valley Center and Stephen and Magda Fisher of Bel Aire, died Oct. 2, 2006. Visitation is from noon to 9 p.m. today (Thursday), with family present from 5 to 7, at Broadway Colonial Funeral Home, Newton. Service is at 2 p.m. Friday at Meridian Baptist Church, Newton, with Pastor Jerroll Martens officiating. Burial will be at Meridian Baptist Church.

He was born April 3, 1909, at Manatu, near Fredrick, Okla. He married Alice P. Kimberlin on Feb. 8, 1932, in Colorado Springs, Colo.

They owned and operated Fisher Plumbing and Heating Co. in Peabody from 1950 to 1970, when they moved to Newton. He then worked at Hesston Corporation for 16 years before retiring. They enjoyed traveling and camping and spending winters in Texas and Arizona. He was preceded in death by his wife; parents, Emory and Anna Fleeton Fisher; a brother, Charles Lee Fisher; and sisters, Irva Fisher Robinson, Pauline Fisher Robinson Reid, and Mary Fisher Tallman Eilert.

Other survivors include his sons and daughter-in-law, Monte and Carolyn Fisher of Whitewater, Kenneth Fisher of Hutchinson; granddaughter and spouse, Deborah and Jerry Buttel of Whitewater; great-grandsons, Matthew Miller, Michael Miller; a step-great-grandson; two step-great-granddaughters; and five step-great-great-grandchildren.

Memorials have been established with the church building fund and with Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice.

NORINE NUCKOLLS

Norine Doherty Nuckolls, 90, of Medicine Lodge, mother of April Nuckolls Jeanneret of Valley Center, died Oct. 6, 2006. Service was Oct. 10 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church. Burial was Oct. 11 at Highland cemetery.

She was born March 5, 1916, at Forgan, Okla., the daughter of Phillip Williaam and Zoe Watts Doherty. She was a secretary for Doherty Lumber and had worked for the Army Air Corps. She was a member of the church, altar society, and VFW Auxiliary. She married Robert Lee Nuckolls Jr. on Nov. 23, 1958, in Medicine Lodge. He survives. She was preceded in death by a sister, Vivian Dugan.

Other survivors include her sons, Robert L. Nuckolls III of Wichita, Timothy Nuckolls of Portland, Ore.; daughter, Bonnie Nuckolls Maples of Cincinnati, Ohio; three grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

A memorial has been established with the church altar society. Larrison Funeral Home had charge.

NORMA BROCKERT

Norma F. Waters Ackerman Brockert, 74, mother and mother-in-law of Jeannie and Gordon Reddoch of Valley Center, died Oct. 5, 2006. She was a homemaker and retired upholsterer. Service was Oct. 9 at Webb-Shinkle Mortuary chapel, Clearwater.

She was born Sept. 28, 1932, in Vian, Okla., the daughter of John and Lucy Waters. They preceded her in death, as did her husband, Daniel Ackerman, and a brother, Calvin Waters.

Other survivors include her husband, William Brockert; daughter and son-in-law, Gayle and Bill Land of Highland Village, Texas; sons and daughters-in-law, Rick and Lynne Brown, Greg and Betsy Ackerman, all of Wichita, Daniel and Joannie Ackerman of Broken Arrow, Okla.; stepson and spouse, Mike and Connie Ackerman of Wichita; stepdaughters, Patsy Gardner, Theressa Lynn, both of Lexington, Mo.; brother and sister-in-law, Jerry and Mary Waters of Vian; 10 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

A memorial has been established with Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice, 313 S. Market, Wichita, KS 67202.

TY SCHALE

Ty Clint Schale, 15, of Valley Center, died Oct. 4, 2006. He was a student at Valley Center High School. Service was Oct. 9 at The Ark Church, Maize, with Pastor Devin Leichner officiating.

He was born Jan. 6, 1991, in La Junta, Colo. He enjoyed drawing, music, hanging out with his siblings and friends, and his church, 180 The Ark. He played football and wrestled last year at Valley Center High School.

Survivors include his mother, Tina Schale of Valley Center; father, David Porter of Texas; father mentor, Michael Kitchen of Valley Center; siblings, Cody and Briana VanEgmond, Jacob and Hannah Ishler, all of Valley Center, Thomas Walton of Oregon, Sophia Salinas of Wichita; grandmother, Joann Munoz of Albuquerque, N.M.; aunts and uncles, Billie Jo and Matthew Brewer of Aurora, Colo., Tabitha Ishler of Albuquerque, Sarah and Jonathan Schale of Lincoln; niece, Alexis Salinas of Wichita; and many cousins.

A memorial has been established with the family for services, in care of Baker Funeral Home, Box 242, Valley Center, KS 67147.

ENRIGUE SANSEDA

Enrigue E. “Hank” Sanseda, 64, of Newton, father of Annette Paronto of Valley Center, died Oct. 15, 2006. Service is at 10 a.m. today (Thursday) at Our Lady of Guadalupe, Newton.

Other survivors include his wife, Rita; daughter, Kathy Johns of Newton; son, Phillip of Newton; nephew, Tom Borrego of Wichita; and eight grandchildren.

Petersen Funeral Home has charge.

HERBERT JEFFERY

Herbert Eugene Jeffery, 67, of Wichita, retired Boeing tool and dye employee, died Oct. 9, 2006. Service was Oct. 13 at Pawnee Avenue Church of God, Wichita.

He was born May 30, 1939, in Wichita, the son of Earl Charles and Erma Clara Fearey Jeffery. They preceded him in death.

Survivors include his wife, Sheila of the home; children and spouses, Tommy Jeffery, Karen and Matt Godsey, Kyle Jeffery, Amy E. Jeffery, Jim Jeffery, all of Wichita, Bill Jeffery of Monet, Mo.; brother, Wes Jeffery of Cheney; and grandchildren, Opal, Brianna, Christopher, Robert, Richard, Robin, Ethan.

A memorial has been established for the family, in care of Baker Funeral Home, Box 242, Valley Center, KS 67147.

JOHN LOGAN

John Fitzgerald Kennedy “Johnny” Logan, 41, of Wichita, Central Plains Steel machinist, died Oct. 15, 2006. Visitation is from 5 to 7 tonight (Thursday) at Baker Funeral Home, Valley Center. Service is at 1:30 p.m. Friday at Kechi Township cemetery, Kechi.

He was preceded in death by his father, Joe Logan Jr.; a sister, Carolyn Logan; and his grandparents.

Survivors include his brother, Joe Logan III; sisters, Iris Baker and Tom Starnes, Betty Logan-Price, Julie and Randy Tidwell, all of Wichita; mother, Erika Logan; 14 nieces and nephews; and three great-nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established with the Humane Society, 4218 S.E. Boulevard, Wichita, KS 67210.

MARY BRIMMERMAN

Mary Ann Quigg Brimmerman, 56, of Wichita, died Oct. 14, 2006. She was an EKG technician for Via Christi St. Francis and a bus driver for USD 259. Service was Oct. 17 at Conway Springs Township cemetery.

She was born March 8, 1950, the daughter of Linley Francis and Mary Louise Greenman Quigg. She attended elementary and junior high school in Valley Center. She was a graduate of Heights High School and Wichita Technical College. She was preceded in death by her parents.

Survivors include her daughters and sons-in-law, Leslie and Tom Light, Lori and Lamont Stevenson, all of Wichita, Lisa and Jim Roth of Conway Springs; brothers and sisters-in-law, John and Tina Quigg, Linley Quigg, all of Rose Hill, Eddie and Irma Quigg, Ronnie Quigg, all of Wichita Falls, Texas; grandchildren, Trisha, Caleb, Elisabeth, Ethan, Kara, Jonathan, Josiah, Benjamin, Nathan, Amya; nieces and nephews including Amy and Jamie Goodwin of Clearwater; and fiance, Ben Santiago of Wichita.

A memorial has been etablished with the American Red Cross, 707 N. Main, Wichita, KS 67203. Baker Funeral Home had charge.

MELVIN HAMPTON

Melvin Cleo Hampton, 84, of Park City, died Oct. 10, 2006. He was a retired truck driver for ABF Freight Co. Service was Oct. 14 at Resthaven Mortuary.

He was a member of the Teamsters Union and had a 35-year safe driving record.

Survivors include his wife, Louise; daughters and sons-in-law, Denise and Ray Pfeider of Park City, Anna and Joseph Batilla of Houston, Texas, Eleanor Andrews of Wichita; sister, Mary Cornwall of Wichita; grandchildren, Amy, Cassie, Deana, Kevin, Regina; eight great-grandchilddren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

A memorial has been established with Catholic Care Center, 6700 E. 45th North, Wichita, KS 67226, and Kechi United Methodist Church, 4533 E. 61st North, Kechi, KS 67067.

WAYNE HOLDER

Wayne K. Holder, 56, of Cheney, brother of Connie Ishman of Valley Center, died Oct. 10, 2006, at Goddard. He was a Lubbers Automotive sales representative. Service was Oct. 14 at Norwich United Methodist Church with Pastors Gene Langhoffer and Kurt Henson officiating. Burial was at Mt. Pleasant cemetery north of Norwich.

He was born Jan. 18, 1950, in Wichita, the son of Robert and Marguerite Gosch Holder. He was a former Wichita resident and previously was employed by Delta Electric Supply. He was the former owner of International Golf. He married Beverly Smith in September 1979 at Yukon, Okla. She survives. He was preceded in death by his mother.

Other survivors include his daughters, Renee Huff of Kansas City, Mo., Rochelle Carrasco of Winfield, Regina Vitale of Wichita; brothers, Brad, Dell, both of Norwich; sister, Gayle Asbury of Norwich; father, Robert of Norwich; and three grandchildren.

Memorials have been established with Norwich United Methodist Church and Norwich Christian Church, both in care of Livingston Funeral Home, 1830 N. Main, Kingman, KS 67068.

BERNARD KAHOE

Bernard “Jim” Kahoe, 91, of Wichita, retired Beech Aircraft machinist, died Jan. 23, 2007. Service was Jan. 27 in Norman, Okla.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Julia; son, Charles Kahoe; and brothers, Bryan and Tim Kahoe.

Survivors include his daughter and son-in-law, Judie and Larry Belew of Wichita; daughter-in-law, Pat Kahoe of North Carolina; sisters-in-law, Margaret Kahoe of Norman, Okla., Caroline Wilkerson of Mississippi; 11 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

A memorial has been established with Park City Church of the Nazarene, 2100 E. 61st North, Park City, KS 67219. Broadway Mortuary had charge.

CLAYTON FISHER

Clayton William Fisher, 81, of rural Valley Center, farmer, stockman and hay producer, died Jan. 24, 2007. Service was Jan. 30 at Kechi United Methodist Church, Kechi.

He was born Feb. 13, 1925, in Maize, at the home of his grandparents. He was the son of Edwin and Verna Fisher. They preceded him in death, as did his first wife, Elaine Graber-Fisher, and first son, James Fisher.

Survivors include his wife of 44 years, Vera Sue Fisher of the home; sons and daughter-in-law, Curtis Fisher of Rogers, Ark., Glenn Fisher of Tulsa, Okla., Gordon and Kathlene Fisher of Sedgwick; daughters and sons-in-law, Jane and Wayne Leander of Larned, Carol and Kevin Lawrence of Salina; and grandchildren, Kelly Allendorf, Scott Fisher, Holly Fisher, Dallas Barnes, Brayden Fisher.

A memorial has been established with Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice. Baker Funeral Home had charge.

DALE TEDLOCK

Dale Tedlock, 82, of Wichita, father and father-in-law of Michelle “Mickey” and Gary Plumer of Valley Center, died Jan. 30, 2007. Visitation is from 5 to 7 p.m. Feb. 2 and service is at 11 a.m. Feb. 3, both at Baker Funeral Home, Valley Center. Burial will be at Kechi Township cemetery, Kechi.

He was born July 3, 1924. He was preceded in death by his wife, Darlene Ellen Michael Tedlock, on June 21, 2006, and a daughter, Elizabeth Windhold.

Other survivors include his children, Judith Lamb, Truman CaRL Lamb II of Las Vegas, Nev.; and grandchildren, Cassody, Amy, Kelley, John, Truman, Christine, Lanny, Kathy, David, Brenda, Dee, Tammy.

GERISON BUENDIA

Gerison Lee Buendia of Wichita, 7-month-old grandson of Kent C. and Cynthia L. Johnson of Park City, died Jan. 24, 2007. Service was Jan. 29 at St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church, Wichita.

He was preceded in death by his great-grandfather, Bernard Eisenbart, and great-grandmothers, Edna Buendia and Mary Sapp.

Other survivors include his parents, Gerry Lee Buendia Jr. and Alishia Christine Johnson; grandparents, Jacque Tolle, Gerry P. and Marilyn Buendia Sr., Vicki Tate, all of Wichita; great-grandparents, Colleen Eisenbart, Glenda Johnson, both of Parsons, Carleton Johnson of Muleshoe, Texas; great-great-grandmother, Nelda Cook of Parsons; aunts and uncles, Nicole L. Johnson, Lamar and Evelyn Buendia-Miller, Jamey and Angela Cockrum, Gerlyn Buendia, Justine Buendia, Jamie Wellbrock, Shannon James, Crystal Garcia, Genny Gadelkarim, all of Wichita; and godparents, Jamie Wellbrock, Rogelio Garcia.

HELENA LAMPHERE

Helena C. “G.G.” Lamphere, 82, of Wichita, sister of Virginia Lipke of Valley Center, died Jan. 28, 2007. She was a homemaker.

Service is at 10 a.m. Feb. 1 at St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church in Schulte.

She made quilts and donated to the poor for many years, and was “Secret Angel” in Ladies Home Journal. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Leo; a brother; and three sisters.

Other survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Mary Lou and Maynard Reid of Wichita; sister and brother-in-law, Delores and Lynn Startzman of Wagoner, Okla.; grandchildren and spouses, Chrissy and Loren Elsen, Scott and Pam Reid, Brad and Janice Reid; great-grandchildren, Reid, Sami, Blake, Eric, Sydney, Carter.

In lieu of flowers, memorials have been established with The Lord’s Diner and St. Anthony’s Shelter. Resthaven Mortuary, Wichita, has charge.
