Mable M. Herman May 4, 1941, in Kanopolis. A resident of Larned since 1958, moving to Salina in 2000, he was a retired teacher and principal for USD 495 in Larned. Kirby was a member of Assembly of God Church and a past member of Fort Larned Lions Club, both of Larned. Survivors include his wife of the home; two daughters, Alberta Fitzpatrick of Salina and Clara Schraeder of Larned; and four grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one brother, Melvin Kirby; five sisters, Chloe Kirby, Cora Kirby, Nora Kirby, Frances Kirby and a twin, Clara Kirby; and one stepsister, Edna Burgess. BAZINE - Elmer E. Erb, 84, died Feb. 2 at his home in Bazine. He was born Dec. 23, 1916, on the family farm south of Bazine, the son of Fred and Elizabeth Gross Erb. He married
Verna Reinhardt-Timken July 8, 1943, in Bazine. She died March 14, 1988. A lifetime resident of the Bazine area, he was a mechanic and repairman. Survivors include four sons, Stan Erb and Brad Erb, both of Bazine, Rod Erb of Ransom and Jeff Erb of Dighton; one daughter, Peggy Huxman of Arnold; four brothers, Leo R. Erb and Earl P. Erb, both of Bazine, Fred L. Erb of Ness City and Richard E. Erb of Marshfield, Mo.; nine sisters, Marjorie B. Schaben of Sterling, Jeannene Hamilton and Geraldine Floyd, both of Marshfield, Evelyn Pitzer, Grace M. Risley and Jeannice Posey, all of Hutchinson, Norma J. Jansen of San Diego, Calif., Leona K. Emelia "Millie" Wittman Aug. 16, 1954, at Great Bend. A lifetime resident of Great Bend, he was a retired assistant fire chief of Great Bend Fire Department. Holmes was a member of St. Mark Lutheran Church, Elks Lodge and Masonic Blue Lodge, all of Great Bend. Survivors include his wife of the home. Leo Rounsavell April 25, 1987, in Great Bend. A resident of Wichita for five years, coming from Great Bend, she was a homemaker, owner of the Artisian Theater and M and M Sundry store in Fowler. She was a member of First Christian Church, Elks Lodge and Veterans of Foreign Wars Ladies Auxiliary, all of Great Bend, and the Rebekah Lodge of Fowler. Survivors include three sons, Emerson Marsh of Peoria, Ariz., Kenton Marsh and Dennis Marsh, both of Sun City; two daughters, Denise Kyte of Cimarron and Rhonda Peake of Wichita; two brothers, Chris Kramer of Abilene and Marlin Kramer of Geneseo; one sister, Juanita Gerber of Fort Collins, Colo.; 13 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Virgie M. Dressel Aug. 1, 1948, in Lyons. A resident of Hutchinson, coming from Little River, he was a farmer. Goerl was member of the United Methodist Church, Methodist Men, lay leader to the Methodist Church, board member of Mutual Telephone Company for 34 years, former school board member and 4-H leader for Rose Bud 4-H Club, all of Little River. Survivors include his wife of the home; two sons, Vernon Goerl of Hutchinson and Vaughn Goerl of Great Bend; two daughters, Vincette Goerl of Alexandra and Virginia Valarie Besperat of Timken; and nine grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one brother, Edsel A. Goerl and one sister, Eleanor L. Goerl. Funeral will be at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at the church in Little River with the Rev. Grant Davis officiating. Charles Eacret June 17, 1952. He died July 23, 1994. A resident of Russell, she was a waitress for many years. Survivors include two sons, Don Parker and Dean Parker, both of Arab, Ala.; one brother, Herbert Karst of Newton; four sisters, Martha Brack, Elsie Brack, Elma Morgenstern and Esther Scheuerman, all of Russell; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Albert Carl Mostrom, Jr. March 27, 1948, in Denver, Colo. He died Sept. 24, 1995. A resident of Garfield, she was a homemaker. Mrs. Mostrom was a member of the Retired Widows Association in Lawton and attended Fort Sill Old Post Chapel. Miller was a member of Catholic Church of Lubbock. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. Survivors include his wife of the home; three sons, Daniel Miller of Ensign, Robert Miller and Steven Miller, both of Lubbock; one daughter, Donna Hessman of Hutchinson; one sister, Regina Sauber of Ellinwood; 10 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
