ST. JOHN - Kenneth L. Kuhn, 72, died March 27 at Central Kansas Medical Center, St. Rose Campus in Great Bend. He was born Oct. 9, 1928, at Larned, the son of William O. and Icie Barnett Kuhn. He married
Judith A. Bidleman June 21, 1948, in Windhorst. A resident of Kinsley, he was a farmer and rancher. Kuhn was a member of Our Redeemer Lutheran Church and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 7349, both of Kinsley. Survivors include his wife of the home; two sons, Kenneth L. Kuhn Jr. of Joplin, Mo., and Scott A. Kuhn of Kinsley; one sister, Myrtle Fisher of Kinsley; nine grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Friday at McKillip Memorial Funeral Home Chapel in Kinsley with the Rev. Andrew Owen officiating. Burial will be at Hillside cemetery in Kinsley. Michael Lewis Cannon 1955-2001
Michael Lewis Cannon, 45, of Great Bend, died March 27 in a traffic accident on K-96 near Albert. He was born Aug. 29, 1955, in Great Bend, the son of Manford G. and Ruth M. borne Cannon. A resident of Great Bend, he was a journeyman machinist. Survivors include his mother of Great Bend; three brothers, Dennis M. Cannon of Hoisington, Daniel G. Cannon and Joe Cannon, both of Great Bend; and one sister, Janet Baker of Ozark, Mo. Memorial service will be at 1:30 p.m. Friday at Bryant-Christians Funeral Home in Great Bend with the Rev. Angel Dy officiating. The body was cremated. There will be no visitation. Memorials are suggested to the Great Bend Humane Society, in care of the funeral home.

ST. JOHN - Milo C. Hamilton, 87, died March 27 at Good Samaritan Nursing Center in Minneapolis. He was born Feb. 5, 1914, in St. John, the son of Charles and Mamie Hamilton. He married
Ida Ruth Watson on March 19, 1932, in Noble, Mo. She preceded him in death. A resident of St. John, he was a farmer and custodian for St. John schools. Hamilton was a member of First Christian Church and Community Fellowship Church, both of St. John. Survivors include four daughters, Betty Lu Shuler of Littleton, Colo., Bonnie Ann Hunsicker of Murfreesboro, N.C., Vicki Sue Lance of Minneapolis and Anita Kay Bross of Cincinnati, Ohio; nine grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; five step-grandchildren; and six step-great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one brother, Elmer Hamilton; and two sisters, Florence Edison and Erma Southard. Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Minnis Chapel in St. John with the Rev. HUTCHINSON - Jerald Hazen 'Bill' Bennett, 87, died March 28 at Hutchinson Hospital. He was born June 25, 1913, in Bentley, the son of Claude Ira and Grace Black Bennett. He was a graduate of Bentley High School. He married
Elmira U. Woolery on July 9, 1937, in Wichita. A resident of Hutchinson, coming from Hoisington and Tahlequah, Okla., he was a head roustabout for Conoco Oil Company. Bennett was a member of the Masonic Lodge AF and AM of Valley Center. Survivors include his wife of the home; two daughters, Dee Ann Linsner of Hoisington and Ila Rae Higgins of Wichita; three grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; four step-grandchildren and seven step-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one sister, Vivian Sage. Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Elliott Mortuary Chapel in Hutchinson with the Rev. Richard F. Stuchlik officiating. McCRACKEN - Mike Moran, 43, died Monday at his home in McCracken. He was born June 7, 1957, in Hays, the son of Vincent Martin "Vick" and Marjorie Lee "Jack" Sloan Moran. He was a 1975 graduate of McCracken High School. A resident of Rush County, he was a farm laborer. Moran was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in McCracken. Survivors include two brothers, Paul Moran of Alexander and Thomas Moran of McCracken; six sisters, Rosemary Kopp of Fairview, Pat Lohrey, Kathleen Moran and Jane Oborny, all of La Crosse, Betty Burkhart of Wright, and Susan Moran of Lee's Summit, Mo. L.V. Reynolds on May 2, 1922. He died Aug. 12, 1968. A resident of Rush County, she was a homemaker and farmer. Survivors include one daughter, Berniece Stejskal of Timken; five grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two sons, Bill Reynolds and James Reynolds; one daughter, Bernice Reynolds; three brothers, Ernest Cunningham, Richard Cunningham and Raymond Cunningham; and one sister, Ruth Middleton. DENVER, Colo. - Charles L. Naylor, 70, died March 23 at Veterans Administration Hospital in Denver. He was born Aug. 1, 1930, in Dodge City, the son of Talmadge "Spud" and Rose W. Naylor. He was a 1948 graduate of Great Bend High School. He attended Wichita State University. A resident of Denver, coming from Great Bend, he was a bank worker, construction worker and restaurant manager. Naylor was a veteran of the Korean War. He was buried March 27 at Fort Logan Veterans cemetery in Denver. HESSTON - Gilbert J. Toman Sr., 74, died March 30 at Schowalter Villa in Hesston. He was born Sept. 12, 1926, in Ellsworth County, the son of Joseph Herman and Rose Edna Shanelec Toman. He married
Marjorie Mae Bender Dec. 24, 1946, at Ellsworth. She died Aug. 1, 1975. A resident of Hesston since 1999, coming from Halstead and Holyrood, he was a retired petroleum technician for Kansas Corporation Commission. Toman was a member of American Legion Post 200 of Holyrood, Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 6485 of Ellsworth and Kansas Heart Association. He was past American Legion District 6 commander and on the American Legion alternate national executive committee. Survivors include three sons, Gib Toman and Dan Toman, both of Halstead, and Ron Toman of Olathe; three daughters, Karen Rudiger of League City, Texas, Joyce Du Bois of Halstead and Debra Cameron of Canton; one brother, Robert Toman of Ellsworth; 13 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two sons, Leon Toman and Richard Toman; two brothers, Joseph Toman and William Toman; and one sister, Marian Kepka. A lifetime Ellinwood resident, she was employed by Family Foods and Kids' N Care, and did custodial work for Adams, Brown, Beran and Bell. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and Altar Society, both of Ellinwood. Survivors include her parents of Ellinwood; three brothers, Scott D. Stremel of Wichita, Daniel M. Stremel of Dodge City and Douglas A. Stremel of Lawrence; and her grandmother, Maxine Stremel of Hutchinson. Altar Society rosary will be at 3 p.m. today at Kimple Funeral Home in Ellinwood. Anthony Breit on Oct. 8, 1935, in Pfeifer. He died Oct. 15, 1997. A Hays resident, she was a homemaker. Mrs. Breit was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church of Hays. Survivors include her two sons, Vern Breit of Hays and Robert Breit of Las Vegas, Nev.; five sisters, Tina Schreiner, Mary Schmidt, Alfreda Burgardt, Dorothy Werth and Josephine Zimmerman, all of Hays; and two grandchildren. Homolka was a member of United Methodist Church of Claflin, Claflin Masonic Lodge, Eastern Star, Palacky cemetery board, township board, past Holyrood Co-op board member and president, past church board member, past Farm Bureau board and past Barton County Extension Service board.
