Marion Eugene "Gene" Peavy, Sr., 66, of London, Ark., died Saturday, December 31, 2005, at his home.
He was born August 4, 1939, at Winnsboro, S.C., the son of Henry Clarence Peavy, Sr. and Marion Jeanette Smith Peavy.
He is survived by his wife, Jane E. Peavy, of London, Ark.; four sons, "Gene" Peavy, Jr., of Manning, S.C., Mark Peavy of Columbia, S.C., Bruce Peavy of Summerton, S.C., and Robbie Beggs of Olathe; three daughters, Beverlee Johnson of Barnwell, S.C., Wendi Floyd of Sumter, S.C. and Jennifer Coates of Fayetteville, N.C.; one brother, Langford Peavy of Cameron, La.,; mother-in-law, Adeline Hobbs of Toronto; thirteen grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, January 4, 2006, at Koup Family Funeral Home, in Eureka. Interment followed in Greenwood Cemetery.

DONALD BOYDSTON
Donald Wayne Boydston, 69, died, Monday, January 9, 2006, in Las Vegas, Nevada.
He was born October 20, 1936 near Eureka, the son of Edwin and Florence Boydston.
He is survived by his daughter, Carleen Boydston of Federal Way, Wash.; a son, Michael Boydston of Anchorage, Alaska; a grandson, Joshua Boydston of Federal Way, Wash.; a brother, Robert Boydston of Silverton, Ore.; a sister, Ruth Walton of Salem, Ore. and four nephews.
A memorial service was held on Thursday, February 23 at Willamette National Cemetery in Portland, Ore.
RETA JOHNSON
Reta Arlene Johnson, 81, of Wichita, died Thursday, January 19, 2006 at Galichia Heart Hospital in Wichita.
She was born September 20, 1924, the daughter of Paul A. and Bessie M. (Smith) Miller near Reece.
She is survived by a sister, Mary Patterson of Caney, sister-in-law Alberta Miller of Benton; four grandchildren; three nieces and three nephews.
Funeral services were held January 25, 2006 at Resthaven Mortuary in Wichita.
Memorial contributions can be made to the American Heart Association.
WARREN BROOKOVER
Warren Joseph Brookover, 78, of Mesa, Ariz., died Saturday, April 29, 2006.
He was born on August 27, 1927, in Eureka, the son of Sam and Pearl Brookover. He graduated from Eureka High School in 1945.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Ann of the home; his sons, Welsey, Max and Sam; a daughter, Ann; six grandchildren; and his brother, John Brookover of Eureka.
Graveside services were held at Apache Wells Community Church in Mesa, Ariz. A memorial has been established with the Odyssey House, 6125 East Arbor Avenue, Mesa, Ariz. 85206.
WILLIS BROWN
Willis Earl Brown, 80, of Eureka, died Tuesday, May 2, 2006 at Greenwood County Hospital in Eureka.
He was born in Eureka on November 14, 1925, the son of Earl L. and Lillian (Cecil) Brown.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Martha; one son, Bobby D. Brown and wife, Janice of Eureka; one daughter, Betty Keiffer and fiance, Gary Schnoebelen of Wichita; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren and daughter-in-law, Peggy Brown of Gillette, Wyo.
Funeral services were held Friday, May 5 at Koup Family Funeral Home with Reverends Dr. Gilbert Daniel and Rhonda K. Almond of the Christian and Congregational Church officiating. Interment followed at Greenwood Cemetery.

JOANN MCFARLAND
Joann McFarland, 84, of Fall River, and Arab, Ala. and formerly of Wichita, died Tuesday, May 2, 2006, at the Greenwood County Hospital in Eureka.
She was born October 7, 1921 in Thayer, the daughter of Fred and Lura (Holestine) Kirk. She was a homemaker.
She is survived by her husband of the home; two sons, Bill McFarland of Pittsburg, Texas and Randy McFarland of Augusta; one daughter, Paula Joslin of Arab, Ala.; one sister, Jeannie Traband, Ft. Lauderdale, Fla.; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren and four step-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Saturday, May 6 at Timmons Funeral Home Chapel. Burial followed in Altoona Cemetery, Altoona.

Mamie L. Smith, 95, formerly of Hartford, died Monday, May 8, 2006, at Holiday Resort in Emporia.
She was born October 1, 1910 near Hartford, the daughter of Joseph N. and Katie McIlvain Carson.
She is survived by two sons, Lee Alvin Smith of Eureka and Robert V. Smith of Emporia; eight grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; one brother, Joe Carson of Olpe; and a brother-in-law, Don Isaacson of Oregon City, Ore.
Funeral services will be held Friday, May 12 at 2 p.m. at the Hartford Methodist Church. Burial will follow at Hartford Cemetery.

Jerry Dee Clites, 65, of Eureka, died Wednesday, May 31, 2006 at Greenwood County Hospital in Eureka.
He was born in Wichita on July 4, 1940 the son of Ival Leroy and Dorothy June (Breaker) Clites.
He is survived by his wife, Jerry Ann of the home; his mother, Dorothy of Eureka; a son, James of Eureka; one grandchild; two brothers, Terry and Larry of El Dorado; and a sister, Shirley Eddings of Eureka.
Graveside services and intermenty was held on Friday, June 2, with Pastor Alan Hunter of the Jefferson Street Baptist Church officiating.

Loretta Danley, 88, of Liberal, Mo., died Sunday, June 4, 2006, in Lakewood, Colo.
She was born February 25, 1918, in rural Vernon County, Missouri, the daughter of Roy Yokley and Loubelle Leatherman.
She is survived by three sons, William M. Danley of Golden, Colo., Richard C. Danley of Elgin, Ill., and David L. Danley of Cheyenne, Wyo.; four sisters, Ella of Independence, Mo., Erma, of North Kansas City, Mo., Peggy of Wellsville and Shirley of Blue Springs, Mo.; one brother, Roy of Bronaugh, Mo.; two grandsons; five grandaughters; four great-grandsons; and three great-granddaughters.
Funeral services were held at Konantz-Warden Funeral Home in Lamar, Mo., on Wednesday June 7, with intermenty following at Milo, Mo.
MILDRED N. GIVENS
Mildred "Nadine" Givens, 87, died Saturday, June 3, 2006, at Medicalodge of Goddard.
She was born in Minden Mines, Mo., on February 18, 1919, the daughter of Henry Harry and Eva (Hughes) Ellings.
She is survived by two sons, William Givens of Hartford, Calif., and Ronald Givens of Elk City, Okla., two daughters, Gloria Lisano of Brighton, Colo., and Virginia Ortiz of Wichita, eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Funeral Services were held on Tuesday, June 6, 2006, at Koup Family Funeral Home with Pastor Stan Seymour of the First Christian Church of El Dorado officiating. Interment followed in Reece Cemetery.
VIOLET V. HENLEY
Violet Henley, 90, of Eureka died Saturday, June 3, 2006, at Greenwood County Hospital.
Henley was born February 13, 1916, at rural Piedmont, the daughter of George and Stella (O'Byrne) Snider.
Henley is survived by two nephews, William Beedles and Savory Snider, and two nieces, Penny Schultz and Edyra Henry.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, June 8, 2006, at 10 a.m. at Koup Family Funeral Home with Pastor Alan Hunter of the Jefferson Street Baptist Church officiating. Interment will follow at Greenwood Cemetery in Eureka.

FREDA LACY
Freda May Lacy, 93, of Eureka, died Monday, May 29, 2006 at Medicalodge of Eureka.
She was born in Greenwood County, on October 24, 1912, the daughter of George "Ed" and Pearl (Key) Bonnette.
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Bettie and Wallace Scott of Eureka; two grandsons, Joe and Jeff Scott, both of Eureka; five great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Thursday, June 1 at Koup Family Funeral Home with Pastor Stan Seymour of the First Christian Church of El Dorado officiating. Interment followed in Greenwood Cemetery.

George Terah "Mack" McCurry, Jr., 73, of Wichita, died Tuesday, May 30, 2006, at St. Joseph &endash; Via Christi Regional Medical Center in Wichita.
He was born on March 9, 1933 in Kansas City, Mo., the son of George T. and Beatrice Louise (Brayfield)
He is survived by his step-son, James Atwood of Sedgwick; step-daughter, Nancy Schomaker of Colorado Springs, Colo.; a sister, Judy House of Kent, Wash., three step-grandchildren and two step-great-grandchildren.
Graveside services were held Friday, June 2 at Greenwood Cemetery in Eureka with Pastor Alan Hunter of the Jefferson Street Baptist Church officiating. Arrangements were with the Koup Family Funeral Home, P.O. Box 595, Eureka, KS 67045.
CRAIG SPAIN
Craig Spain, 51, of Garnett died Wednesday, May 31, 2006.
He was born in Eureka on September 10, 1954, the son of Albert and Sue Spain.
He is survived by his mother, Sue Spain of Eureka, a son, Brad Spain of Manhattan, two brothers, Alan Spain of Emporia and Doug Spain of Americus, two nieces, two nephews and three great nieces.
Funeral services were held on Monday, June 5, 2006, at Farris-Feuerborn Memorial Chapels, Inc. in Garnett.

Loy E. Browning, 76, of Eureka, formerly of El Dorado, died Sunday, October 1, 2006, at Galichia Heart Hospital in Wichita.
He was born November 26, 1929, in Parsons, the son of Daniel and Gertrude (Mackey) Browning.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Faye of the home; three sons, Dennis of San Antonio, Texas, Melvin of Orange County California and Robert of Paducah, Kentucky; four daughters, Brenda Smith of Vinita, Okla, Marshelia Browning of Leesburg, Fla., Lisa Gibson of Newkirk, Okla. and Kami Browning of Blackwell, Okla.; ten grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren and two brothers, Leon Browning of Phoenix, Ariz. and Johnny Browning of El Dorado.
Services were held Wednesday, October 4, 2006, at Christ Lutheran Church in Eureka. Interment followed in Sunset Lawns Cemetery in El Dorado.

Frances June "Pat" Chester, 74, of Eureka, died Sunday, September 24, 2006 at the Presbyterian Manor in Emporia.
She was born on June 1, 1932, the daughter of Bryon W. and Mary F. (Wyse) Lopp in Yates Center.
She is survived by three sons, Joseph R. Francis of Kansas City, James L. Francis of Emporia and William P. Francis; one daughter, Nancy L. Harris of Emporia; one grandson; one sister, M. Kathleen Straight of Wichita and one brother, Anthony K. Straight of California.
A memorial service was held Saturday, September 30, at Koup Family Funeral Home, with Pastor Mike Brazzle of the First Baptist Church of Madison officiating. Cremation has been effected. Inurnment will follow in Greenwood Cemetery.

Bruce R. Henderson, 75, of O'Neill, Neb., died Wednesday, September 27, 2006.
He was born April 20, 1931, the son of Raymond and Ena Henderson in Severy.
He is survived by three brothers, Harold Henderson of Eureka, Carl Henderson of Grove, Okla. and Keith Henderson of Emporia; one sister, Wanda Evans of Fall River and several nieces and nephews.
A private family service will be held at a later date. Interment will be held at Severy.
ALBERTA PETERSON
Alberta "June" Peterson, 76, of Eureka, died Friday, September 29, 2006, at Greenwood County Hospital in Eureka.
She was born on June 6, 1930, in rural Arkansas, the daughter of Travis and Anna Avery.
She is survived by three sons, Charles E. Peterson of Hutchinson, Marian E. Peterson of Overland Park and Rodney G. Peterson of Colorado; two daughters, Pamela S. Bowman of Tennessee and Stephanie and Edward Findley and grandchildren Tristin, Jerred, Jennifer, Travis and Daphne Findley, of the home; twelve grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Doris Swenson and Myrtle Robinson, both of Hutchinson.
A private family inurnment will be held at a later date. Cremation has been effected.
