Dr. Thomas McNaught
Dr. Thomas Ross McNaught, 69, Topeka, died Thursday, Jan. 11, 2001, at his home.
Dr. McNaught practiced psychiatry at Topeka State Hospital from 1960 until he retired in 1985.
He was born July 18, 1931, in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, the son of David McLaine and Minnie McNaught. He graduated from the University of Toronto and the Menninger School of Psychiatry.
Survivors include a sister, Ruth Hailburton, Windsor, Ontario, Canada.
Memorial services will be private.

Patricia Pickford
Patricia V. Pickford, 71, Topeka, died Wednesday, Jan. 10, 2001, at her home.
She was born Jan. 18, 1929, in Salt Lake City, Utah, the daughter of Hugo and LaRue Ryberg White. She attended Utah University and the University of Oregon. She moved to Topeka in 1962.
Mrs. Pickford was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, the Lake Sherwood Association and Shawnee Country Club.
She married retired Col. Thomas M. Pickford on Oct. 6, 1953, in Wilmington, N.C. He survives.
Other survivors include two daughters, Mollie Martin, Olathe, and Peggy Ann Pickford, Topeka; two sons, Thomas M. Pickford Jr., Houston, and Timothy W. Pickford, Denver; and five grandchildren.
Inurnment at Leavenworth National Cemetery will be private. Relatives and friends are invited to a celebration of her life from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday at Shawnee Country Club.

John Salyer
John W. Salyer, 58, Topeka, died Wednesday, Jan. 10, 2001, in the emergency room at a Topeka hospital.
He was born Sept. 2, 1942, in Topeka, the son of Gerald and Ruth Walters Salyer. He was a lifelong resident of East Topeka.
Survivors include two daughters, Renee L. Salyer, Meriden, and Ruth E. Salyer, Topeka; three brothers, Walter D. Salyer, Houston, Texas, Donald T. Salyer, Elkin, Ark., and David A. Salyer, Topeka; four sisters, Edith Myers, Bettie Anno, Donna Myers and Sharon Owens, all of Topeka; five grandchildren; and one stepgranddaughter.
Mr. Salyer was cremated. Inurnment will be at a later date. Visitation will be from 2 to 3:30 p.m. Saturday at Penwell-Gabel Highland Chapel.
Ralph Teter
Ralph B. Teter, 85, Topeka, died Wednesday, Jan. 10, 2001, at his daughter's home.
Mr. Teter had painted airplanes in Wichita for the Boeing Aircraft Co., and he later was a sales representative for the Miller Brewing Co. He also worked for the Kansas Department of Revenue from 1960 until he retired in 1988. He served in the Merchant Marines many years ago.
He was born March 17, 1915, in Rose Hill, the son of Helen Harpole. He was adopted by Stanton and Sylvia Ratliff Teter and raised in Hutchinson. He graduated from Hutchinson High School and had lived in Topeka since 1951.
He married Wanda M. Glenn on Oct. 14, 1942, in Denver. She preceded him in death July 8, 1991.
Survivors include three daughters, Geri Lynn Rouse, Pasadena, Calif., Carole Helmuth, Arcadia, Calif., and Vicki Robbins, Hoyt; six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and one great-great-granddaughter.
Cremation is planned. No public services are scheduled. Inurnment will be at Mount Hope Cemetery.

Harold E. Davis
CULLISON -- Private services are planned for Harold Edwin Davis, 82, Cullison, who died Thursday, Jan. 11, 2001, at a Pratt retirement center.
He was born Jan. 22, 1918, in Potwin in Butler County, to Charles E. and Nellie Angleton Davis, and lived in Cullison in Pratt County since 1947. He was a mechanic before he retired.
He was an Army veteran of World War II.
He was a member of United Methodist Church in Potwin, Elks Lodge, American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars, all in Pratt, and Moose Lodge in Dodge City.
He married Lola Carey in 1941 in Louisiana. She survives.
Other survivors include a son, Dennis Davis, Topeka; a daughter, Delva Hutchins, Cullison; two sisters, Lois Pierce and Irene McKenzie, both in El Dorado; six grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Burial will be in Sunset Cemetery in Cullison.

Virginia Holmes and Phyllis M. Jones
HOLYROOD -- Double services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. Paul's United Church of Christ in Holyrood for Virginia M. Holmes, 77, and Phyllis M. Jones, 76, both of Holyrood, who were killed Friday, Jan. 12, 2001, when a semi-trailer truck struck the rear of their car stopped on the shoulder of Interstate 70 a mile west of the Chapman interchange.
Mrs. Holmes daughter, Margaret, is married to Mrs. Jones' son, Robert. Mrs. Holmes and Mrs. Jones reportedly had been visiting a grandson in Morris County and were on their way home.
Virginia M. Holmes was born Nov. 22, 1923, in Lyons, to Walter and Mary Motter, and she had lived in Holyrood since 1946. She was a cook in Holyrood schools.
She was a member of St. Paul's United Church of Christ and American Legion auxiliary, both in Holyrood.
She married Harold D. Holmes on April 25, 1941, in Kingman. He died Aug. 16, 1973.
Survivors include two sons, Gary D. Holmes, Stafford, and Charles D. Holmes, Topeka; two daughters, Barbara J. Shelton, Foster City, Calif., and Margaret Ann Jones, Holyrood; a brother, Leonard Motter, Washington state; 13 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Phyllis M. Jones was born April 20, 1924, in Goff, to Henry and Lulea Brockman Thieme. She lived in Holyrood two years.
She was a member of Community Christian Church in Great Bend.
She married Paul A. Jones on Dec. 2, 1942, in Soldier. They were divorced, and he died Sept. 18, 1989. She married Jo B. Jones on April 12, 1980, in Wichita. He died Aug. 29, 1991.
Survivors include two sons, Robert Jones, Holyrood, and Gerald Jones, Logan; a daughter, Kathleen Lloyd, Hoisington; a brother, Omar Thieme, Topeka; four sisters, Pauline Bradley, Lincoln, Kan., Olive Bontrager, Wetmore, Shirley Wood, Big Sandy, Texas, and Dorothy Rice, Topeka; eight grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Both women will beburiedin Hillcrest Memorial Park Cemetery in Great Bend. Relatives and friends of Mrs. Jones will meet from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Nicholson-Ricke Funeral Home in Hoisington.

Rena Fern Latham
TORONTO -- Graveside services will be at 1:30 p.m. Friday at Toronto Cemetery southwest of Yates Center for Rena Fern Muzingo Latham, 87, formerly of Toronto, who died Jan. 12, 2001, at a St. George, Utah, retirement center.
She was born Jan. 13, 1913, in Toronto, to Troy Franklin and Murnia Raphe Stewart, and attended schools in Toronto. She moved to California in 1944 and lived near San Diego. She moved to Utah in 1998.
She married Charles H. Muzingo. They were divorced before he died. She married Nelson Latham. He also preceded her in death.
Survivors include a son, Hollis C. "Lou" Muzingo, Hurricane, Utah; a grandson; a granddaughter; and two great-grandsons.
Earlier services were Sunday at Metcalf Mortuary in St. George, Utah. Campbell Funeral Home in Yates Center is in charge of Kansas arrangements.
Robert Bradshaw Sr.
WATHENA -- Robert L. Bradshaw Sr., 82, Wathena, died Saturday, Jan. 13, 2001, at a Highland nursing home.
He was born June 23, 1918, in Barnard, Mo., to Everett and Bertha Richey Bradshaw, and spent most of his life in Wathena. He was a farmer and worked at the stockyards in St. Joseph, Mo., before he retired.
He was a member of Stanberry Lodge No. 109, AF&AM, in Stanberry, Mo.
He married Berenice Schuman on Sept. 30, 1939, in Savannah, Mo. She died Nov. 29, 1991. A grandson, Billy Thompson, also died.
Survivors include a son, Robert Bradshaw Jr., Wathena; two daughters, Sue Thompson, Osborn, Mo., and Phyllis McCrory, Wathena; a sister, Esther Urich, Kansas City, Mo.; eight grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Harman Rohde Funeral Home in Wathena. Burial will be in Bellemont Cemetery in Wathena. Mr. Bradshaw will lie in state after 9 a.m. today at the funeral home where relatives and friends will meet from 7 to 8:30 p.m.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital in Memphis or to Hands of Hope Hospice and sent in care of the funeral home.
Janice Bussart
ST. GEORGE -- Janice Bussart, 57, St. George, died Saturday, Jan. 13, 2001, at a Topeka hospital.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Yorgensen-Meloan-Londeen Funeral Home in Manhattan. Other arrangements are pending.
Myrtle Buehler
MORROWVILLE -- Myrtle Buehler, Morrowville, died Sunday, Jan. 14, 2001, at a Fairbury, Neb., nursing home.
She married Orval Buehler. He survives.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Church of Christ in Morrowville. Burial arrangements are pending. Mrs. Buehler will lie in state from 3 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Ward Funeral Home in Washington.
Eva Geritz
NORTONVILLE -- Eva Pearl Geritz, 99, Nortonville, formerly of Atchison, died Sunday, Jan. 14, 2001, at an Atchison hospital.
She was born Dec. 24, 1901, in Huron, to William Jackson and Nina Zonne Stearnes Horton. She had been living at Village Villa nursing home in Nortonville.
She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Atchison and the quilting group at the church.
She married William H. "Bill" Geritz on Feb. 1, 1934. He died Nov. 1, 1971.
Survivors include a brother, Charles Horton, Hutchinson; and two sisters, Mary Alice Downing, Atchison, and Naomi Dori, Apple Valley, Calif.
Mass of Christian burial will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Atchison. Burial will be in Mount Calvary Cemetery in Atchison. A parish rosary at 7 p.m. Tuesday at Becker-Dyer-Stanton Funeral Home in Atchison will be followed by visitation until 8:30 p.m.

Rudolph Gerling
LAWRENCE -- Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Warren-McElwain Mortuary in Lawrence for Rudolph Max Gerling, 80, Lawrence, who died Saturday, Jan. 13, 2001, at a Lawrence retirement center. Cremation will follow services.
He was born July 10, 1920, in Holyoke, Mass., to Rudolf and Florence Heinrich Gerling. He owned and operated Unicut, a manufacturer of carbide-tipped saw blades, in Chicago. Earlier he was a sales manager for E.F. Houghton Oil Co., in Chicago and St. Louis. He lived in Wilmette, Ill., before he recently moved to Lawrence.
He was a gunner and corporal in the Army during World War II, having served in Europe, Africa and the Middle East. He received several decorations, including two Bronze Battle Stars.
He was a member of a masonic lodge, Ducks Unlimited and Salmon Unlimited, an organization that promotes restocking of salmon in Lake Michigan. He worked for several years at a checkpoint in the Iditarod dogsled race in Alaska.
He married Betty Blum in February 1942 in Chicago. She died Jan. 3, 1998.
Survivors include two daughters, Judy Gerling Paley, Lawrence, and Leslie Mead, Wasilla, Alaska; two sisters, Fran Spiegel, Chicago, and Margot Blum, Vence, France; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Visitation in the Smith Center at Brandon Woods Retirement Center will follow services.
Contributions may be made to the Rudolph Gerling Memorial Fund to be designated for stroke-related research and sent in care of the mortuary.
Alta Graham
CORNING -- Memorial mass will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Corning for Alta A. Graham, 96, Corning, who died Friday, Jan. 12, 2001, at a Centralia nursing home.
Cremation is planned. Inurnment will be in St. Thomas Catholic Cemetery in Stockton. Rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Tuesday at the church in Corning.
