COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. — Kay Loren Reeves, 79, Colorado Springs, formerly of Atwood, Kan., died Wednesday, Jan. 12, 2005.
Mr. Reeves was born Aug. 13, 1925, in Atwood, Kan. He was a farmer and aerial sprayer and former owner of Reeves Fumigation and Pest Control Co.
Survivors include his wife, Nancy L., of Colorado Springs and her children, Mark Brad and Sarah Buhler; two sons, Dr. Richard “Dick” Reeves of Clay Center, Kan., and Dr. James “Jim” Reeves of Atwood, Kan.; a daughter, Virginia Kay “Ginger” Reeves of Atwood, Kan.; seven grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Monday at United Methodist Church, Atwood, Kan. Burial will be in Atwood Fairview Cemetery, with fraternal rites by Masonic Lodge 164 AF&AM and military honors by American Legion Sam Hubbard Post 46, Atwood, Kan.
Memorials may be made to Atwood Airport Fund and Rawlins County Ambulance Fund.

TAMPA — Helen M. Schwartzman, 98, Tampa, died Friday, Jan. 14, 2005.
Mrs. Schwartzman was born Helen M. Pospisil on Aug. 18, 1906, in Lost Springs. She was a homemaker.
Her husband, William “Bill”, died in 1990.
Survivors include three sons, John of Salina, Leroy of St. Louis and Wayne of Park City; two daughters, Helen Jean McGonigle of Wichita and Geraldine Noonan of Dallas; a brother, Emil Pospisil of Wichita; four sisters, Evelyn Strecker of Lost Springs, Stella Kohler of Silver Springs, Md., Victoria Zell of Shelby, Mont., and Lorena Pospisil of Libuse, La.; 10 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.
The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church (Holy Family Parish), Tampa. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Tampa.
A rosary will be said at 7 p.m. today at Zeiner Funeral Home, 205 Elm, Marion 66861.

HOISINGTON — Brenda Ann Stephens, 44, Hoisington, died Friday, Jan. 14, 2005.
Mrs. Stephens was born Brenda Ann Akins on Dec. 12, 1960, in Hutchinson. She was a technical manager and a photographer.
Survivors include her father, Raymond Akins, of Hutchinson; her mother and stepfather, Leta and Alan Ochs, of Hoisington; a son, Tigie Stephens of Port St. Lucie, Fla.; three brothers, Wendel L. Akins, Mike Akins and Orlin Akins; five sisters, Ruby Akins, Mary Leshore, Linda Bayse, Justine Ochs and Angela Grissom; and two grandchildren.
A memorial service will be at 5 p.m. Friday at House of Faith, Hoisington.

Mr. Wendt was born Feb. 7, 1916, in Latimer. He was a plumber.
Survivors include his wife, Naomi, of Abilene; two sons, Roger of Herington and Rick of Leon; two daughters, Phyllis Mackovic of LaQuinta, Calif., and Pam Holt of Plano, Texas; two brothers, Percy of Latimer and Cecil of Herington; three sisters, Eleamae Krauss of Herington, Trula Diamond of Lamar, Mo., and Barbara Weatherman of San Antonio; 10 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Herington. Burial will be in Sunset Hill Cemetery, Herington.

Mr. Combs was born Sept. 16, 1953, in Emporia. He was a self-employed construction worker.
Survivors include his wife, Cindy of the home; his father, Bud of Burlington; his mother, Beverly Combs of Bella Vista, Ark.; two stepdaughters, Andrea McGinnis and Bailey Coberly, both of Hays; two brothers, Kim of Derby and Todd of Burlington; a sister, Kristie Reincke of Kansas City, Mo.; and four grandchildren.

DESHLER, Neb. — Anna E. Eickmann, 96, Deshler, died Monday, Feb. 7, 2005.
Miss Eickmann was born June 13, 1908, in Red Cedar, Wis. She worked at the Deshler Rustler newspaper for more than 60 years.
Survivors include nieces and nephews.
The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at St. Peter Lutheran Church, Deshler. Burial will be in St. Peter Lutheran Cemetery.

LATIMER — Dyas E. Farres, 90, Latimer, died Sunday, Feb. 6, 2005.
Mr. Farres was born Nov. 30, 1914, in Woodbine. He was a farmer, a mechanic and worked for Morris County.
Survivors include his wife, Evelyn of the home; a son, Dave of White City; a brother, Mitchell of Salina; five sisters, Opal Holscher and Rose Watt, both of Tulare, Calif., Joan Roehrman of Kanopolis, and Oneda Jahnke and Charmaine Oesterreich, both of Woodbine; two grandchildren; and a great-grandson.

Theresa Marie “Terri Johnson
BALDWIN CITY — Theresa Marie “Terri” Johnson, 53, Baldwin City, died Sunday, Feb. 6, 2005.
Mrs. Johnson was born Feb. 20, 1951, in Salina, the daughter of Joe and Ida Knoll. She graduated from Solomon High School in 1970 and received a degree in English from Kansas University. She was a publicity and continuity director at KINA radio station in Salina, was an underwriter at KANU public radio station in Lawrence, a professional writer for the engineering firm O’Brien and Gier in Syracuse, N.Y., and worked as a fund-raiser for Vanderbilt University’s Blair School of Music in Nashville, Tenn. In 1991, she moved back to Kansas where she was director of the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences for the Kansas University Endowment Association and later held positions at KUEA as the senior director of the CLAS, and most recently as the director of special projects. She was a staff counselor and on the board of directors for the Headquarters Counseling Center. She married John Kelly Johnson on Aug. 22, 1981.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Ida and Joe; and a brother, Larry.
Survivors include her husband, Kelly of the home; a daughter, Cheri Marie Thomas and husband Kent of Camas, Wash.; two sons, Lucas Kelly Johnson of Lawrence and Alex Michael Johnson of the home; two granddaughters, Emily Catherine Thomas and Hanna Jo Thomas, both of Camas; a sister, Shirley Knoll of Wichita; two brothers, Tom Knoll of Salina and Mark Knoll of Baldwin City; six nieces, Kayla, Katie, Maddie, McKaley, Andrea and Ashley; and four nephews, Nathan, Ben, Tim and Taylor.
A memorial service will be at 10:30 a.m. today at First United Methodist Church, Baldwin City. Inurnment will be later in Deerfield Cemetery.

NELSON, Neb. — Wayne S. McClure, 84, Nelson, died Sunday, Feb. 6, 2005.
Mr. McClure was born Nov. 2, 1920, near Rosiland. He was a farmer and a feed salesman for Moorman’s Feed Co.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Edythe, in 1998; and a granddaughter.
Survivors include two sons, Gary of Nelson and Allen of Hastings; four daughters, Jayne Brown of Friend, Ruth Watts of Fairfield, Betty Kilmer of Hastings and Kay McClure of Juniata; two brothers, Gerald of Idaho Falls, Idaho, and Gayle of Hastings; 14 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Nelson Community United Church of Christ, Nelson. Burial will be in Nelson Cemetery.

Mr. Michaelis was born Sept. 8, 1924, in rural WaKeeney. He was an electrical contractor, retiring in 1986.
Survivors include his wife, Frances of the home; a son, Tye Allen Michaelis of Topeka; a daughter, Arla Kay Homburg of Quinter; a sister, Linda Rogers of Worland, Wyo.; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Her husband, Charley, died in 1981.
Survivors include a daughter, Catherine A. Ulman of Salina; and a sister, Helen Pepper of Abilene.
