Mr. Bruning was born Feb. 14, 1915, in Ellsworth County. He was a farmer and stockman.
A son, Doyle, died in 1994.
Survivors include his wife, Lucille, of Ellsworth; two daughters, Marlaine Malone of Tonganoxie and Dianne Sheldon of Ellsworth; two sons, Keith and Bruce, both of Ellsworth; three brothers, Ralph, Orval and Leroy, all of Ellsworth; five sisters, Laverna Hunter, Elda Warttig and Elsie Hunter, all of Ellsworth, Norma Clark of Great Bend and Eva Katzenmeier of Abilene; eight grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, rural Ellsworth. Burial will be in St. Paul’s Lutheran Church Cemetery, rural Ellsworth.

Mrs. Dortland was born Lucy Katherine Robben on Dec. 19, 1910, in Walker. She was a homemaker.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Gerald, in 1975.
Survivors include a son, Everett of Gorham; a daughter, Geraldine of Denver; a sister, Alma Dreiling of Hays; four grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Gorham. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Gorham.

She was born March 25, 1914, in Victoria. She entered the Sisters of St. Joseph, Concordia, on Aug. 11, 1932, and received the habit on March 20, 1933. She was a teacher and administrator, retiring in 1980.
Survivors include five sisters, Florene Dome of Hays, Leona Klein of Victoria, Angela Basgall of McPherson, Sandy Batchelder of Reno, Nev., and Lila Klein of Wichita; and two brothers, Ralph Sanders of Hays and the Rev. Reginald Sanders, Tarkio, Mo.
The funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. today in the Motherhouse Chapel. Burial will be in Nazareth Motherhouse Cemetery.
