LEES SUMMIT, Mo. — Louise E. Wranosky, 84, Lees Summit, died Sunday, May 7, 2006.

Mrs. Wranosky was born Louise E. Kramer on March 12, 1922, in Agenda.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Vernon, in 2005.

Survivors include a daughter, Sharon Shorney of Lees Summit; a son, Vernon II of Colby; a brother, Rodney Kramer of Newark, Ohio; a sister, Elizabeth Wells of Louviers, Colo.; four grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

A graveside service will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Haddam City Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to Haddam Methodist Church or Haddam Cafe.

Friends may register Wednesday and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Thursday at Tibbetts-Fischer Funeral Home, 1104 20th, Belleville 66935. The casket will remain closed.

Hazel M. Yeager
BELOIT — Hazel M. Yeager, 97, Beloit, died Sunday, May 7, 2006.

Mrs. Yeager was born Hazel M. Huffman on March 6, 1909, rural Beloit. She was a bookkeeper for Kansas Power and Light.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Andy, in 1971.

Survivors include two daughters, Martha Jane McLaughlin of Middleton, N.H., and Rosemary Watson of Edmond, Okla.; and a grandchild.

The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Beloit. Burial will be in St. John’s Cemetery.

A parish vigil will be at 6:30 p.m. today at McDonald Funeral Home, 910 N. Campbell, Beloit 67420.

Memorials may be made to Solomon Valley Hospice.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Lucy Gustafson
BELOIT — Lucy Gustafson, 98, Beloit, died Saturday, May 20, 2006.

McDonald Funeral Home, Beloit, is handling arrangements.

Thelma L. James
PHILLIPSBURG — Thelma L. James, 83, Phillipsburg, died Friday, May 19, 2006.

Mrs. James was born Thelma L. Schmid on July 7, 1922, in Monroe, Neb. She was a retired nurse’s aide.

She was preceded in death by a son, Leon F. Winters, in 1998; and a grandson.

Survivors include two sons, Clarence Winters of Phillipsburg and William Winters; a brother, Paul Schmid of Monroe; three sisters, Julia Schmid of Silver Creek, Neb., Bethene Smoots of Monroe and Elva Church of Clarkes, Neb.; 14 grandchildren; and 23 great-grandchildren.

The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Olliff-Boeve Memorial Chapel, 1115 Second, Phillipsburg 67661. Burial will be in Gaylord Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to Phillips County Hospital Long Term Care.

Visitation will be from noon to 9 p.m. today and until the service Monday at the chapel.

Fred Karlin
BELOIT — Fred Karlin, 62, Beloit, died Friday, May 19, 2006.

Betty Lou Kramer
LONGFORD — Betty Lou Kramer, 76, Longford, died Saturday, May 20, 2006.

Mrs. Kramer was born Betty Lou Beals on Jan. 19, 1930, in Clyde. She had a dance band that traveled throughout Kansas.

Survivors include her husband, Jay, of Longford; three sons, Kim and Von, both of Longford, and Jan of Onaga; a brother, Stanley Beals of Clay Center; three sisters, Jackie Mandrell of Phoenix, Leah Simpson of Salina and Inez Comfort of Bartlesville, Okla.; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and two stepgreat-grandchildren.

The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at First Presbyterian Church, Oak Hill. Burial will be in Rose Meron Cemetery, Clay County.

Memorials may be made to the church, in care of Neill-Schwensen-Rook Funeral Home, 918 Seventh, Clay Center 67432.

Visitation will be from 3 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home, where the family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m.

Dolores L. Langhofer
TOWANDA — Dolores L. Langhofer, 91, Towanda, died Friday, May 19, 2006.

Mrs. Langhofer was born Dolores L. Sprinkle on Dec. 22, 1914, in Dorrance. She was a homemaker and retired head cook at Circle High School in Towanda and Bunker Hill school district.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Samuel J., in 1975; and a great-grandson.

Survivors include four daughters, Jan Jack of Benton, Marilyn Bond of Riverton, Wyo., Carolee Robie of Camdenton, Mo., and Joyce Langhofer of the home; two sons, Sammy of Benton and Ron of Cassoday; a brother, Gilbert Sprinkle of Wilson; 10 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.

The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Carlson Funeral Home, El Dorado. A graveside service will be at 3:30 p.m. in Dorrance Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to the Fairview Baptist Church Mission Fund, rural Towanda.

Visitation will be from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Linda Kay Lowrie
RUSSELL — Linda Kay Lowrie, 58, Russell, died Thursday, May 18, 2006.

Mrs. Lowrie was born Linda Kay Ferree on June 20, 1947, in Rocky Ford, Colo. She was a registered nurse.

She was preceded in death by a son, Dennis.

Survivors include a daughter, Sandy Detrich of Gulfport, Miss.; two brothers, Steve of Limon, Colo., and Ray of Salem Va.; and two grandchildren.

A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Calvary Chapel Assembly of God Church, Russell. Inurnment will be at a later date.

Memorials may be made to the church, in care of Russell Funeral Home, 610 N. Elm, Russell 67665.

Chloe Grace MacKinney
WaKEENEY — Chloe Grace MacKinney, daughter of Dale and Sara MacKinney, WaKeeney, was stillborn Thursday, May 18, 2006.

Survivors, in addition to her parents, include a sister, Abby of the home; her grandparents, The Rev. Peter and Lori MacKinney of Anthony and Julie Zeck of Colby; and her great-grandfather, David B. MacKinney of Kewanee, Ill.

The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Harvestime Assembly of God Church, WaKeeney. Burial will be in WaKeeney City Cemetery.

There will be no visitation.

Schmitt Funeral Home, WaKeeney, is handling arrangements.

Clayton F. Raile
GOODLAND — Clayton F. Raile, 85, Goodland, formerly of Cheyenne, Wyo., died Friday, May 19, 2006.

Mr. Raile was born Feb. 3, 1921, in Cheyenne County. He was a retired Safeway store manager of 27 years.

Survivors include his wife, Reba, of Goodland; a daughter, Bonnie J. Selby of Goodland; two grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Mountain time Monday at Koons Chapel, 211 N. Main, Goodland 67735.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Northwest Kansas Shrine Club for Crippled Children.

Visitation will be from 1 to 2 p.m. Mountain time Monday at the funeral home.

George R. Whitaker
SMOLAN — George R. Whitaker, 73, Smolan, died Friday, May 19, 2006.

Mr. Whitaker was born July 22, 1932, in Freeman, Mo. He was a superintendent for A.J. Holmquist Excavating & Concrete for 42 years.

He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Inez Whitaker; and a brother, John “Pete” Whitaker.

Survivors include his wife, Georgia, of Smolan; two daughters, Kathleen “Kathy” Smith and husband Bill of Smolan and Christine “Chris” McDonnell and Gene Donley of Salina; six sisters, Emma Jean Wentworth and husband Harold of Rochdale, Mass., Charlene Tuller of Arvada, Colo., Marvel Jane Hargus of Salina, Doreen Grous of Warren Robins, Ga., Doris Gingery and husband Bruce of Cheyenne, Wyo., and Karen Foley and husband Fred of Smolan; a brother, Darrell S. Whitaker of Hutchinson; two granddaughters, Brandee Adam and husband Eric and Kylee Smith, all of Smolan; a grandson, Kelly Smith of Smolan; and six great-grandchildren, Katie, Karter, Karee and Kelsee Adam and Isaiah and Gabriella Smith, all of Smolan.

The funeral will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at Ryan Mortuary, 137 N. Eighth, Salina 67401, the Rev. Kevin Putnam officiating. Burial will be in Mission Hills Cemetery, near Smolan.

Memorials may be made to the George Whitaker Memorial Fund or Hospice of Kansas.

Visitation will be from noon to 8 p.m. Monday at the mortuary, where the family will receive friends from 6 to 7 p.m.

Donna M. Colley
MARQUETTE — Donna M. Colley, 41, Marquette, died Friday, June 16, 2006.

Mrs. Colley was born Donna M. Stoegbauer on June 19, 1964, in Alameda, Calif. She was a paralegal for an attorney’s office.

Survivors include her husband, James A., of the home; four sons, Jason Lunn, Nicholas Henry, Matthew Henry and Timothy Colley, all of the home; a daughter, Amber Thomas of the home; a brother, Charles Cowsert of Plymouth, Calif.; a sister, Gloria Dumbar of Cape Coral, Fla.; and her father, Richard A. Stoegbauer, of El Sobrante, Calif.

A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Marquette United Methodist Church. Inurnment will be at a later date.

Memorials may be made to the family.

There will be no visitation.

Daniel Ray Farley
Daniel Ray Farley, 76, Salina, died Saturday, June 17, 2006.

Mr. Farley was born Feb. 18, 1930, in Lawrence and grew up in Junction City. He retired from Kansas Power and Light in 1992 after 39 years of service. He was a gas outside district man at Lindsborg for 34 of those years. He served in the United States Air Force from 1947 to 1950. He was a charter member of Lindsborg Golf Club and had four holes in one. He was a KU basketball fan. He married Irene “Renie” Eisenhauer on Oct. 12, 1951, in Salina.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Virgil and Grace “Ray” Farley; and; two brothers, Frank and Sam.

Survivors include his wife, Irene “Renie” of the home; three sons, Mark of San Diego, Mike and wife April of Alamorgordo, N.M., and Matt and wife Jill of Overland Park; a daughter, Kathy Daggett and husband Bill of Charlottesville, Va.; and 15 grandchildren.

A memorial service will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Ryan Mortuary, 137 N. Eighth, Salina 67401, Ted Kessinger officiating. Private family inurnment will be in Elmwood Cemetery, Lindsborg.

Memorials may be made to Hospice of Salina.

There will be no visitation.

Robert J. Gordon
COLBY — Robert J. Gordon, 83, Colby, died Saturday, June 17, 2006.

Marjorie Greene
HOUSTON — Marjorie Greene, Houston, formerly of Jewell, Kan., died Sunday, June 18, 2006.

Kleppinger Funeral Home, Jewell, is handling arrangements.

Irene Laura Hoover
FEDERAL WAY, Wash. — Irene Laura Hoover, 90, Federal Way, formerly of McPherson, Kan., died Friday, June 16, 2006.

Mrs. Hoover was born Irene Laura Bombardier on June 7, 1916, in Concordia, Kan. She was a homemaker and a telephone operator for 25 years, working for Southwestern Bell Telephone Co.

Her husband, Lyle, died in 2001.

Survivors include a daughter, Ila Marie Laxson of Federal Way; a son, Jack D. Smith of Conway, Ark.; two brothers, Raymond Bombardier of Bonner Springs, Kan., and Abner Bombardier of Abilene, Kan.; six grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

The funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Glidden-Ediger Chapel, 222 E. Euclid, McPherson 67460. A graveside service will be at 1:30 p.m. Thursday in Restlawn Gardens of Memory, Newton.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Alzheimer’s Association or Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 2715 Ladies Auxiliary, McPherson.

Visitation will be from 3 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, where the family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m.

Kenneth Dewain Skeels
CONCORDIA — Kenneth Dewain Skeels, 91, Concordia, died Saturday, June 17, 2006.

Mr. Skeels was born July 21, 1914, in Concordia. He and his wife operated Skeels Shoe Repair in Concordia for 48 years, retiring in 1995.

Survivors include his wife, Lydia, of Concordia; twin sons, Kenton of Denver and Kenneth of Shawnee; a daughter, Karen Fakler of Beatrice, Neb.; seven grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.

The funeral will be at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday at Trinity United Methodist Church, Concordia. Burial will be in Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Concordia, with military graveside honors by VFW Post 588 and American Legion Post 76.

Memorials may be made to the Parkinson Foundation, Shawnee Mission Home Health or American Heart Association.

Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. today at Chaput-Buoy Funeral Home, 325 W. Sixth, Concordia 66901, where the family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m.

Floyd N. Spurlock Jr
McPHERSON — Floyd N. Spurlock Jr., 50, McPherson, died Friday, June 16, 2006.

Mr. Spurlock was born Jan. 24, 1956, in Phoenix. He was an on-air personality for KNGL-KBBE Radio in McPherson and had worked as a clerk at McPherson Taylor-Mart.

He was preceded in death by a son, Matthew.

Survivors include his wife, Cindy, of the home; a daughter, Heather Heim of Canton; his mother, Patricia Guernsey, of Glendale, Ariz.; two sisters, Priscilla Johnson and Sara Joiner, both of Phoenix; and a granddaughter.

The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Stockham Family Funeral Home, 205 N. Chestnut, McPherson 67460. Inurnment will be at a later date.

Memorials may be made to McPherson Family YMCA or McPherson County Humane Society.

There will be no visitation. The body was cremated.
