CONCORDIA — Davida L. Branda, 62, Concordia, died Thursday, Aug. 10, 2006.
Mrs. Branda was born Davida L. Peterson on March 4, 1944, in Superior, Neb. She was a licensed practical nurse for Mount Joseph Nursing Home in Concordia.
Survivors include her mother, Mildred Peterson, of Beloit; a son, Matt Peterson of Topeka; three daughters, Tammy Weinbrenner of McPherson, Dina Budke of Beloit and Cara Conaway of Hutchinson; two brothers, Mike Peterson of Salina and Jerry Peterson of Kansas City; a sister, Sherry Snyder of Beloit; and eight grandchildren.
A memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at McDonald Funeral Home, 910 N. Campbell, Beloit 67420. Inurnment will be in Elmwood Cemetery.

There will be no visitation. The body was cremated.
Agnes Virginia Brungardt
HAYS — Agnes Virginia Brungardt, 89, Hays, died Friday, Aug. 11, 2006.
Mrs. Brungardt was born Agnes Virginia Ubert on May 10, 1917, in Catherine. She was a homemaker and caregiver.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Victor Leo, in 1951; and an infant daughter.
Survivors include a daughter, Sheila Augustine of Hays; three granddaughters; and six great-grandchildren.
The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Monday at St. Catherine Catholic Church. Burial will be in St. Catherine Cemetery.
A Perpetual Adorers rosary will be said at 4 p.m., a Christian Mother’s rosary at 6:30 p.m. and a parish vigil at 7 p.m. today at Hays Memorial Chapel Funeral Home, 20th and Pine, Hays 67601.

Eugene A. “Jinx” Reese
GYPSUM — Eugene A. “Jinx” Reese, 71, Gypsum, died Friday, Aug. 11, 2006.
Mr. Reese was born May 29, 1935, near Gypsum. He was a farmer and stockman in the Gypsum area his entire life.
He was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Mindy Reese; and a great-granddaughter, Rae-Lyn Hecke.
Survivors include his wife, Phyllis, of the home; a son, Jim of Smolan; two daughters, Stephanie Moyer of Gypsum and Joyce Hitchcock of Mentor; 10 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Gypsum United Methodist Church. Burial will be in Poheta Cemetery, rural Kipp.

HUTCHINSON — Dr. Leo A. Rogers, 91, Hutchinson, died Friday, Aug. 11, 2006.
Dr. Rogers was born Oct. 30, 1914, in rural Castleton. He was a retired orthodontist, with offices in Hutchinson, Dodge City and Hays.
His first wife, Janet, died in 1988.
Survivors include his wife, Helen; a stepson, Richard Mackenzie of Santa Fe, N.M.; two brothers, Carl of Burwell, Neb., and Paul of Pretty Prairie; and two stepgrandchildren.
A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Grace Episcopal Church, Hutchinson. Private family inurnment will take place.

Mrs. Unruh was born Betty Trickle on July 2, 1951, in Concordia. She was a business manager.
Survivors include two sons, Brandon Unruh of Andover and James Oursler of Wichita; a sister, Shirley Bailey of Republican City, Neb.; two brothers, Kenneth Trickle of Chapman and Roy Trickle of Bonner Springs; and a granddaughter.
The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Trinity Heights United Methodist Church, Newton. Burial will be at 2:30 p.m. in Miltonvale Cemetery.

Jane Lee Williams, 79, Salina, died Wednesday, Aug. 9, 2006.
Mrs. Williams was born Jane Lee Chamblee on Aug. 31, 1926, in Texarkana, Texas. She was a home health care nurse, retiring in 2001.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Samuel, in 1991.
Survivors include her companion, Kenneth H. Karr of Salina; two sons, Foree Kirk Jr. of Salina and Melvin L. Kirk of McPherson; a stepson, Sam Williams Jr. of New Jersey; two daughters, Charlene Bonilla of Salina and Merinda Kimble of Kansas City, Mo.; two stepdaughters, Brenda Waldemar of Vineland, N.J., and Marrinetta Kelley of New Jersey; a sister, Mozelle Scott of Manhattan; 22 grandchildren; and 31 great-grandchildren.
The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Roselawn Heights Memorial Chapel, 1920 E. Crawford, Salina. Burial will be in Roselawn Memorial Park, Salina.

COURTLAND — Randall W. Cleveland, 92, Courtland, died Tuesday, Sept. 5, 2006.
Mr. Cleveland was born Jan. 31, 1914, in Caddo County, Okla. He farmed and raised horses and cattle and was the Lovewell State Park superintendent for many years.
Survivors include his wife, Edna, of Superior, Neb.; two sons, Rick of Courtland and Conley of Webber; a daughter, Lynda M. Eisenhauer of Webber; a sister, Enid Ashmon of Lampac, Calif.; seven grandchildren; one stepgrandchild; 11 great-grandchildren; and two stepgreat-grandchildren.
The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Melby Mortuary Chapel, 402 N. High, Mankato 66956. Burial will be in Lovewell State Park Cemetery, Webber.

CHAPMAN — Walter Neil Detrich, 85, Chapman, died Monday, Sept. 4, 2006.
Mr. Detrich was born Aug. 29, 1921, south of Chapman. He worked at Chapman State Bank, retiring in 1982, and managed a real estate business.
Survivors include his wife, Verna, of the home; two sons, Phil of Mt. Shasta, Calif., and Karl of Chapman; a daughter, Beth Boltz-Morton of Chapman; a brother, Robert of Chapman; five grandchildren; and two stepgrandchildren.
A memorial service will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the Chapman High School auditorium. Doors will open at 9 a.m. A private burial will be at a later date.

Earl R. “Johnny” Green, 82, Salina, died Tuesday, Sept. 5, 2006.
Mr. Green was born Oct. 21, 1923, in Salina. He served as a staff sergeant in the U.S. Army in World War II from 1943 to 1945. He was a self-employed linoleum mechanic. He was an avid hunter, fisherman and softball fan.
Survivors include his wife, Clena, of the home; two daughters, Dixie Hostetler of Wakefield and Debbie Christie of Mentor; four grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Ryan Mortuary, 137 N. Eighth, Salina 67401. Burial will be in Gypsum Cemetery, Gypsum, with military honors by Fort Riley.

Mrs. Jansonius was born Vivian VanDerWege on Nov. 1, 1916, in Prairie View. She was a homemaker.
Her husband, William, died in 1994.
Survivors include two sons, John of Phillipsburg and Van of Albuquerque, N.M.; two daughters, Anita Deboer of Phillipsburg and Georgia Brown of Florissant, Mo.; a brother, Richard VanDerWege of Lindsborg; three sisters, Roma Lougheed of Harlingen, Texas, Irene Brooks of Protection and Helen Wassehaar of Grand Junction, Colo.; nine grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; four stepgrandchildren; and seven stepgreat-grandchildren.

Mrs. Malsom was born Barbara Richmeier on Aug. 15, 1923, near St. Peter. She was a bookkeeper for Triangle Truck Stop in WaKeeney, retiring in 1980.
She was preceded in death by a grandson.
Survivors include her husband, George, of the home; two sons, Dennis of Goodland and Bill of Bartlesville, Okla.; two daughters, Donna Schmitt of Liberty, Mo., and Susan Hearting of Ogallah; four brothers, Ben Richmeier of Thornton, Colo., Joe Richmeier of Westminster, Colo., Gerald Richmeier of Grand Junction, Colo., and Ronald Richmeier of Aurora, Colo.; four sisters, Julia Scheck of Westminster, Lydia Denning of Norton, Armella Ashworth of Mound City and Francis Nimz of WaKeeney; 12 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

LANCASTER, Calif. — Lois M. Nelson, 81, Lancaster, died April 27, 2006.
Mrs. Nelson was born Lois M. Drummond on April 20, 1925, in Saline County, Kan., to George and Pearl (Magoon) Drummond. She attended and received her teaching credentials from Marymount College, Salina, Kan. She was an insurance agent with State Farm, retiring in 1985. She was a member of the Dakota Dance Club, the Minnesota/Dakota Dance Club and the Western Washington Dance Club, all of Washington.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold, in 1981; and a sister, Della Mae Danielson.
Survivors include two daughters, Linda Veil of Lancaster and Tonya Burnett of Kent, Wash.; a brother, Bob Drummond of New Cambria, Kan.; a sister, Norma Korbe of Lindsborg, Kan.; four grandchildren, Kimberly Richards and Heidi Arcidiacono, both of Quartz Hill, William Richards II of Lancaster and Christian Burnett of Kent; and two great-grandchildren, Bradley Hanaway of Lake Havasu City, Ariz., and Anthony Arcidiacono of Quartz Hill.

COUNCIL GROVE — Mildred Nannie “Mid” Osborne, 91, Council Grove, died Monday, Sept. 4, 2006.
Mrs. Osborne was born Mildred Nannie Admire on Jan. 21, 1915, in Hiawatha. She had worked in a law office and the Council Grove Telephone office.
Her husband, Mason, died in 1994.
Survivors include two sons, Bill of Topeka and John of Orlando, Fla.; two daughters, Lorene Brown of Council Grove and Marjorie Volesky of Oketo; 12 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; three stepgrandchildren; four stepgreat-grandchildren; and three stepgreat-great-grandchildren.
