He was the owner and operator of The Lean Two.

Funeral service will be at 3 p.m. Tuesday at the United Methodist Church, Moundridge. Burial will be in the West Zion Church Cemetery, Moundridge. Visitation is from 2 to 8 p.m., with family present from 6 to 8 p.m., tonight at the Moundridge Funeral Home.

Vera M. Kitzel, 88, died Jan 23, 2001.

Halbert E. Whitaker, 85, of McPherson, died Feb. 14, 2001.
He was a mechanical engineer.
Survivors include: wife, Vera F. Whitaker; daughters, Marsha Whitaker, Englewood, Colo., and Nancy B. Hawkins, Indianapolis, Ind.; one grandson; and two step-grandchildren.
Cremation has taken place. The memorial service will be at 3 p.m. Sunday at the Church of the Brethren.
Burial will be at the Washington Creek Church of the Brethren Cemetery, Lone Star.

Dorothy M. Peterson, 81 died April 16, 2001.
She was a homemaker.
Survivors include: husband, Harold Peterson, Assaria; sons, Randy Peterson, Havana, Terry Peterson, Assaria, and Rick Peterson, Blacksburg, Va.; daughter, Cindy Clark, Kechi; nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at the Assaria Lutheran Church, Assaria. Burial will be in the Assaria Lutheran Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today, with family present from 7 to 8 p.m., at the Hays-Christians Funeral Home.

Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the First Baptist Church, McPherson. Graveside service will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at the Springfield Cemetery, rural Goessel.

SALINA -- Gloria V. Krisher Griffing, 70, of Salina, died Aug. 15, 2001.
She was a homemaker.
Survivors include: sons, Matt Reeves, West Covina, Calif., Jim Griffing, Leavenworth, Mike Reeves, Grandby, Colo., Tim Reeves, Jensen Beach, Fla., and Luke Reeves, St. Louis, Mo.; daughter, Mary Rusisille, Torrence, Calif., and mother, Enid Thodis, Salina.
A gathering of family and friends will be held at 1 p.m. today at the Hampton Inn, Salina. Ryan Mortuary, Salina, was in charge of arrangements.
Jason Lyle Orth
Jason Lyle Orth, 23, of McPherson, died Nov. 6, 2001.
A veteran of the U.S. Navy, he was a B operator at Tessenderlo Kerley.
Survivors include: parents, David and Debra Orth, McPherson; brothers, Michael Orth, Wichita, and Dustin Orth, McPherson; paternal grandparents, Frank and Marie Orth, McPherson, and maternal grandparents, Gene and Joni Reinecker, McPherson.
Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at the St. Joseph Catholic Church.
Burial will be in McPherson Cemetery. Visitation is from 3 to 7:15 p.m. Friday, with the family present from 6 to 7:15 p.m. Rosary will begin at 7:30 p.m. at the church.

Dorothy Mae Vaupel Werner, 79, of McPherson, died June 8, 2002.
She had worked for ADM Milling Co. as a lab technician.

A veteran of the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War, he worked for Westar Energy as a journeyman troubleman. He formerly had worked for MCI Trucking and Airmoble.

Funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the United Methodist Church in Marquette. A second service will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the United Methodist Church in Oakley. Burial will be in the Oakley Cemetery.
