Opal Walker Ettleman, 96, of McPherson, died Feb. 15, 2001.
She was a homemaker.

Funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at United Methodist Church, Haddam. Burial will be in the Haddam Cemetery.

Walter Wedel
MOUNDRIDGE -- Walter Wedel, 86, of Moundridge, died March 29, 2001.
He was a former employee of American Coach.
Survivors include: wife, Pearline M. Wedel; sons, Don Wedel, Oxford, Wis., and Dale Wedel, Moundridge; daughter, Carol Lindsay, Moundridge; brothers, Allen Wedel, Moundridge, and LaVern Wedel, Newton; sisters, Elma Jantz, LuAnna Buller and Fern Koehn, all of Moundridge; 14 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Moundridge Funeral Home Chapel. Visitation is from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the Moundridge Funeral Home.
Verne D. Swenson
Verne D. Swenson, 49, of Manhattan, died April 8, 2001.
He worked as a payroll clerk at the Irwin Army Community Hospital, Fort Riley, on his return in 1975 from military service with the U.S. Air Force, and from 1989 until his death worked as a payroll clerk in the Division of Facilities at Kansas State University.
Survivors include: mother, Irma M. Swenson, Alta Vista; brothers, Leon D. Swenson, Richland, Wash., and Carol R. Swenson, McPherson; and sister, Kathy Leonard, Manhattan.
Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in the Simpson United Methodist Church, Alta Vista. Burial will follow in the Prairie View Cemetery, southeast of Alta Vista.
Visitation is from 7 to 8 p.m. Friday at the Irwin-Parkview Funeral Home, Manhattan.

Alva L. Bailey, 90, of rural McPherson, died Nov. 6, 2001.
He was a farmer.
Survivors include: son, Clifford W. Bailey, McPherson; four grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Friday at the Glidden-Ediger Chapel. Burial will be at North Inman Cemetery. Visitation is from 3 to 8 p.m. tonight, with family present from 6 to 8 p.m., at the Glidden-Ediger Chapel.

Grace M. Towers Kennedy
Grace M. Towers Kennedy, 87, of McPherson, died Aug. 15, 2001.
She was a homemaker and former owner of Galva Cafe. She also had worked in several public service positions, retiring in 1979.
Survivors include: son, David Kennedy, Frisco, Texas; daughters, Shirley Unruh, Galva, and Ann Brucker, Galva; sister, Elizabeth Frizzell, Nampa, Idaho; 12 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; and one step-grandchild.
Funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Broadway Colonial Funeral Home, Newton. Burial will be at Greenwood Cemetery, Newton. Visitation is from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. today, with family present from 7 to 8:30 p.m., at the funeral home.

SALINA -- Dorothy H. Fisher, 73, of Salina and formerly of Lindsborg, died Feb. 8, 2002.
She was a homemaker.
Survivors include: husband, John H. Fisher; son, Dick Harvey Fisher, Smithville, Ark.; daughters, Laura Caren Rhodenbaugh, Salina, and Trudy Kay Koopman, Aurora, Colo.; brother, Donald Turnquist, Lindsborg; and seven grandchildren.
No services are planned. The body was donated to the KU Medical Center. Ryan Mortuary, Salina, is in charge of arrangements.

MOUNDRIDGE -- Rhoda Becker Unruh, 80, of Moundridge, died June 10, 2002.
She was a homemaker.

She was a retired dairy and poultry farmer and housewife.
Survivors include: son, Mark Hajek, Marion; daughters, Pauline Holub and Audrey McLinden, both of Marion; sisters, Ruth Weigel, Wichita, and Catherine Weigel, Connecticut; nine grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Marks Church Holy Family Parish, Marion. Burial will be at St. Mary's Cemetery, Tampa. Rosary will be at 7:30 p.m. today at the Zeiner Funeral Home, Marion.

Martin L. "Marty" Hanley, 76, of McPherson, died Feb. 10, 2001.
He was a painter and interior decorator for Pyle Construction Co.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Joseph Catholic Church.
Burial will be in McPherson Cemetery. Visitation will be from 3 to 7 p.m., with family present, at Glidden-Ediger Funeral Home. Rosary will be at 7:15 p.m.

He was a fuel delivery man for Mid-Kansas Coop.
Survivors include: wife, Jodie B. Liby, Lindsborg; brothers, Larry Liby, Osage City, and Kenneth Liby, Chandler, Ariz.; and sister, Deborah Chamberlan, Fremont, Calif.
A funeral service will be held at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at the Evangelical Covenant Church, Lindsborg. Burial will be in the Elmwood Cemetery, Lindsborg.

Elden N. Prester
GENESEO -- Elden N. Prester, 78, of Geneseo, died March 30, 2001.
A veteran of World War II, he was co-owner of Prester's Drive-In and Prester's Grocery, both of Geneseo, former employee of the Missouri-Pacific Railroad, and former manager of Rolling Acres Golf Course, McPherson.
Survivors include: daughters, Cheryl S. Shirley, Geneseo, and Jayne E. Gottschalk, Wichita; sisters, Ida M. Taylor and Irene M. Hart, both of Geneseo; six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
