Orlena O. Nutt
Orlena O. "Little" Nutt, 83, a longtime Parsons resident, died at 9:55 a.m. today, Wednesday, Jan. 21, 2004, at the Cherryvale Care Center. She had been in failing health since December 2000.
She was the widow of Max Nutt, who preceded her in death on March 4, 1988.
Funeral arrangements will be announced by Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home.
Juanita M. Bailey
Juanita M. Bailey, 87, a longtime Parsons resident, died at 8:10 a.m. today, Tuesday, June 17, 2003, at the Home Place in Oswego.
She was the widow of Harry C. Bailey, who preceded her in death on April 25, 1993. They were the longtime operators of Harry's Cafe in Parsons.

Michael E. Sears
AUGUSTA - Michael E. "Mike" Sears, 62, of Augusta, a former resident of Erie, died at 6:50 a.m. today, June 17, 2003, at the Lakepoint nursing home in Augusta. He had been in failing health.
The service has tentatively been scheduled for 10 a.m. Friday at the Lakeview Cemetery in Erie. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home in Parsons.

Bertha M. Fritz
CHETOPA - Bertha Mae Fritz, 70, of Chetopa, formerly of Wichita, died at 3:18 a.m. Monday, June 16, 2003, at her home.
She was born Jan. 3, 1933, in Bonner Springs to Aurby and Florence (Kimlin) Kepford. She graduated from Chetopa High School in 1951.
She married Charles B. Fritz on Aug. 19, 1952, in Bentonville, Ark. He survives of the home. They moved to Chetopa in October 1996 from Wichita. They were married 50 years.
She was a homemaker and community volunteer. She was active in PTA, serving as state president from 1981 to 1983; active in Girl Scouts and Cub Scouts; a member of the Chetopa Chamber of Commerce; a lifetime member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary Post 10508; and past treasurer of the Chetopa Historical Museum.
Her family was the joy of her life.
Other survivors include two sons, Bruce Fritz and his wife, Jana, and Bob Fritz and his wife, Angie, all of Wichita; one daughter, Charlotte Brindley and her husband, Chris, of Canton, Mass.; three grandchildren, Andrew, Luke and Miranda; two sisters, Jaunita Honeyman of Tulsa and Rose Cross and her husband, Jim, of Oswego; one sister-in-law, Myrna Kepford of Austin; a special family friend, Elton Raney of Grove, Okla.; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father, Aurby Kepford; her mother, Florence Kepford Raney; one brother, James William Kepford; and one sister, Eleanor Louise Kepford, in infancy.
A graveside service will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at the Oak Hill Cemetery with the Rev. Jack Wilkinson officiating. Friends may call from 7 to 8 p.m. today at the Bath Funeral Home in Chetopa.
Paul A. Taylor
CHANUTE - Paul Anderson Taylor, 78, of Chanute died Sunday, June 15, 2003, at Neosho Memorial Regional Medical Center.
He was born on April 8, 1925, in Hannibal, Mo., to Walter and Ada Hodgden Taylor. He moved with his family to Neosho County at the age of 5. He graduated from Chanute High School. In 1942 he enlisted in the United States Navy and served aboard the USS Dixie. After his discharge in 1946, he returned to Neosho County and worked at the Berthot Planing Mill.
He married Marilyn M. Ellison on Oct. 28, 1949, at the First Christian Church in Chanute. She survives.
He started a business with Bob Knapp, TK Construction.
He was a member of the First Christian Church, VFW, American Legion and was a former member of the Bit and Spur Saddle Club and the Do-Si-Do Square Dance Club of Chanute.
Survivors include many nieces and nephews, including Fred R. Taylor of Grove, Okla., Barbara Ann Noah of Altoona, Norma J. Barger of Grove and Jim and Debbie Bailey of Earlton.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Roy and James Orville Taylor.
The service will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Gibson-Koch-Friskel Chapel with the Rev. Rick Qualls officiating. Burial will be in the Neosho County Memorial Park Cemetery, East 21st Street. Military honors will be provided by the American Legion Post 170. Friends may call today at the funeral home.
Memorials to the Heart Association or the American Cancer Society may be left at the funeral home.
Bessie M. Yeubanks
WICHITA - Bessie Marguerite Yeubanks, 92, a former Cherryvale resident, died at 7:50 a.m. Saturday, June 14, 2003, at College Hill Nursing Center in Wichita.
She was born May 26, 1911, in Edna to Charles Alexander and Ida Mae (Shields) Alexander. She was a nurses' aide in McPherson and later worked at Terrace Gardens nursing home in Wichita.
She married George A. Yeubanks on Nov. 22, 1927, in Oklahoma. He preceded her in death.
She was a member of the Assembly of God Church in Lyons and in Wichita.
Survivors include one daughter, Theresa Pence of Wichita; two grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and one sister, Glennora Smith of Cherryvale.
A graveside service will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Fairview Cemetery in Cherryvale with the Rev. Gerald Zuck, pastor of the Cherryvale Christian Church, officiating. Friends may call from 8 a.m. to noon Wednesday at the Potts Chapel in Independence.
Sheri A. Yeoman
Sheri A. Yeoman, 50, of Parsons died at 8:41 a.m. Wednesday, June 18, 2003, at the St. Francis Regional Medical Center in Wichita. She had been in failing health.
She was born June 14, 1953, in Coffeyville to Leon and Evelyn (Hudspeth) Fugate. As a young girl, she moved with her family to Vinita, Okla., where she attended school.
She married Pat Yeoman on Nov. 11, 1973, in Vinita. They resided in Parsons since then. He survives of the home.
She loved doing craftwork and going camping. She also enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.
Other survivors include one son, Brad Yeoman and his wife, Karen, of Parsons; one daughter, Lesle Gray and her husband, Billy, of Oswego; two stepsons, Randy Yeoman and his wife, Karla, of Scott, Ark., and Doug Yeoman of Joplin; one stepdaughter, Debbie Nash and her husband, LeRoy, of Galesburg; 11 grandchildren, Justin Nash, Amber Nash, Cody Yeoman, Taylor Yeoman, Tyler Yeoman, Brian Yeoman, Alex Yeoman, Dathan Gray, Tristan Gray, Cruz Yeoman and Jessica Yeoman; and two sisters, Karen Folsem of Sedalia, Mo., and Sharon Cristler of Springfield, Mo.
The service will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home with the Rev. Mark Koch officiating. Cremation will follow the service. Friends may call at their convenience after 5 p.m. Friday.
Michael E. Sears
AUGUSTA - Michael E. "Mike" Sears, 62, of Augusta, formerly of Erie, died at 6:50 a.m. Tuesday, June 17, 2003, at Lakepoint nursing home in Augusta. He had been in failing health.
He was born Dec. 28, 1940, in Erie, to Cecil "Bing" and Zoe (Beard) Sears. He graduated from Erie High School in 1958. He attended the Labette Community College in Parsons.
During the Vietnam War, he served in the United States Air Force and was stationed in Wichita and Japan. After he returned home, he was employed as a dispatcher with the Katy Railroad, which later became the Union Pacific Railroad, for 29 years. At the time of his retirement, he was working in Omaha, Neb. He had recently moved to Augusta to be near his family.
He was a member of the American Legion.
He enjoyed hunting and fishing.
Survivors include four sons, Clint Sears of Erie, Todd Sears of Augusta, Troy Sears of Parsons and Josh Sears of Glenwood, Iowa; one daughter, Hallie Sears of Sherman, Texas; one stepson, Chris Sampson of Glenwood, Iowa; 12 grandchildren; one brother, Gene Sears of Branson, Mo.; and two sisters, Doris Roets of Erie and Cathy Cook of Parsons.
The service will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Lakeview Cemetery in Erie with the Rev. Ralph Jarboe Jr. officiating. Military honors will be given by the George L. Hendricks Post No. 102 American Legion, Erie. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. today at the Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home, 405 Main, Parsons.
Juanita M. Bailey
OSWEGO - Juanita M. Bailey, 87, a longtime Parsons resident, died at 8:10 a.m. Tuesday, June 18, 2003, at the Home Place in Oswego, where she had resided for three years.
She was born June 12, 1916, at Mound Valley to John E. Tedstrom Sr. and Ruth (Whitted) Tedstrom. She graduated from Parsons High School in 1934.
She married Harry C. Bailey on June 12, 1938, in Parsons. They operated Harry's Cafe in Parsons for more than 35 years. Before her marriage she had worked as a beauty operator. After retiring from the restaurant business she operated Nita's Beauty Shop and Boutique. He preceded her in death on April 25, 1993.
She was a member of the former Washington Avenue United Methodist Church in Parsons and had been active in its women's circles.
Survivors include one daughter, Jennifer Easley of Burleson, Texas; two sons, Bill Bailey and his wife, Brenda, of Plano, Texas, and Jeffery Bailey and his wife, Nancy, of Elkhart, Ind.; seven grandchildren, Trisha McGinnis, Tim Conrad, Christopher, Andrea and Nichole Bailey, Beth Ann and Bradley Bailey; six great-grandchildren, Justin, Nathan, Brittany, Ashley, Micala and Karli; two stepgreat-grandchildren, Shaina and Seth; and one sister, Patricia Proctor of Katy, Texas.
She was preceded in death by a brother, John E. Tedstrom Jr.
The service will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at the Carson-Wall Funeral Home in Parsons with the Rev. Peggy Hillmon officiating assisted by the Rev. Wallace Proctor Jr., nephew of Mrs. Bailey. Burial will be in the Oakwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. today at the Carson-Wall Funeral Home in Parsons.
Memorials may be made to the Parsons Community Foundation Scholarship Fund.
Everett A. O'Bryan
Everett A. O'Bryan, 87, of Parsons died at 12:55 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 20, 2004, at Elmhaven West nursing home, where he had resided since September 2002.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Edith, on Aug. 18, 2001.

WICHITA - Louise Olson, 79, of Wichita died Thursday, June 17, 2004, at Wesley Medical Center in Wichita.
He was born March 19, 1925, in Parsons to Guy Leonard and Wilma (Crosser) Aronhalt.
He was a retired insurance agent and worked for McInteer, Jukes and Kennedy. He had lived in Wichita since 1992.
He formerly lived in McPherson.
Survivors include four sons, Dr. Gary Clark of St. Louis, Mo., Don Olson of Louisville, Ky., Stan Olson of Rose Hill, and Phil Olson of Denver; five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; three brothers, Leonard Aronhalt of Parsons, Glenn Aronhalt of Big Sandy, Texas, and Ron Aronhalt of Joplin; and one sister, Leona Glenn of Winfield.
The service will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Peace Lutheran Church, 405 W. 21st, Andover, 67002. Burial will be later in McPherson Cemetery. Cremation has taken place.
