Vesta M. Fitch, 95, departed this life on May 21, 2004 at Green Valley, Arizona. She was born February 18, 1909 at Minneapolis, the daughter of John H. and Florence Barrett Wolfersperger.
A memorial service was held May 31 at the LaPosada Assisted Living Center. Inurnment will be at later at the Sunset Cemetery in Manhattan.
TOM FRAZIER
Tom Frazier, 68, died May 29, 2004 at his home in Delphos. The son of Joseph and Opal Sherraden Frazier, he was born March 17, 1936 at Chapman.
The family suggests memorials to the American Heart Association.
NELLIE G. COMFORT
Nellie Genevieve Condray was born October 8, 1906, on a farmstead near Jetmore to Henry F. and Ada Belle (Whisler) Condray. She departed this life on July 29, 2004, at the Salina Regional Health Center. She was 97 years of age.
Memorials are to the Ottawa County Health Center or a church of the donor's choice.
CARTHA A. THORNTON
Cartha Ann Ranney Thornton died Sunday July 25, 2004 at Edmonton, Alberta Canada. She was born on June 8, 1933 to William and Helen (Johnson) Ranney in Minneapolis.
Memorials are to to the M.S. Society in care of Frank Thornton, 10925-153 St., Edmonton, Alberta, Canada.
KENNETH FERCH
Kenneth Laverne Ferch, 67, of Delphos died September 29, 2004 at the Ottawa County Health Center in Minneapolis. He was born August 25, 1937 at West Fargo, North Dakota, the son of Harvey and Hazel Irene Heimberker Ferch.
There will be no service at the request of the family.
RAYMOND HOFFHINES
Raymond E. Hoffhines, the son of Edward Earl and Mabel Kniesteadt Hoffhines was born March 23, 1918 on a farm near Esbon. He passed away November 23, 2004 at the Ellsworth County Medical Center.
Survivors include his wife Edna of Ellsworth; four sons: Robert and wife Marsha, Ross and wife Melva and Michael and wife Theresa, all of Salina and Edward and wife Anita of Ellsworth; a daughter Deanna and husband Terry Cleveland of Salina; a brother Max of Oklahoma City; ten grandchildren Sheri Maki, Stefeni Green, Staci Reynolds, Sona Darnell, Rhonda Hensley, Adam, Mark, Sara and Jenna Hoffhines and Dustin Inskeep; and 14 great-grandchildren. His brother Ross preceded him in death.
The funeral was November 26 at Shields Funeral Home in Minneapolis with Rev. Jim Newkirk officiating. The family suggests memorials to the Good Samaritan Retirement Village or Ellsworth County Medical Center, both of Ellsworth.
MARCINE HOGG
Marcine Hogg was born February 16, 1933 in Blackwell, Oklahoma, the daughter of William Earl and Velma Mae Case Myers. She departed this life on November 9, 2004 in Sun City, Arizona.
Survivors include her husband Darrell; a son, Eric Hogg and wife Debi of Salt Lake City; a daughter, Amy Porter of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma; a sister, Lynn Croft of Dallas; four granddaughters Heather, Tyler, Lyndee and Jordan Porter; two step-grandsons, Cody Steggell and Taylor Stassi. She was preceded in death by a brother, James Myers.
A memorial service was held November 20 at Lakeview United Methodist Church in Sun City. Memorials are to the Salvation Army's Christmas Tree Program.
GERALD JOHNSON
Gerald Fay "Jerry" Johnson, age 73, passed away November 24, 2004 at the Ottawa County Health Center in Minneapolis. He was born March 24, 1931 at Concordia, the son of Alex and Jettie Jeardoe Johnson.
Survivors include his wife Jane of Delphos; two sons, Douglas Johnson and wife Cheryl of Leoti and Michael Johnson and wife Debbie of Delphos; two daughters Pamela and husband Derek Leiker of Liberal and Lori and husband Lee Sisk of Wichita; and nine grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Lewis and Larry Johnson, and a sister, Geneva Lagasse.
The funeral was November 27 at the Delphos United Methodist Church with Doyle Carroll and Tom Corman officiating. Memorials are to the Delphos Youth Group or the God Squad.
JOHN EVAN AYERS
John Evan Ayers, Superior, Nebraska, passed away November 24, 2004 at the age of 89 years, six months and eight days.Bornnear Tescott on May 17, 1915, he was the son of John William and Thursa Shields Ayers.
He is survived by his wife Martha; two sons, Jon Rodney of Cairo, Neb., and R. Bruce and wife Linda of Courtland; seven grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren; and one brother, A. Vaughn Ayers of Englewood, Colo. He was preceded in death by a sister, Dorothy Ayers and a half sister, Fern Ayers Scidmore.
Services were held Nov. 27 at Megrue-Price Funeral Home Chapel in Superior with Rev. Ray Gilstrap and Missy Wilt officiating. Interment was in White Rock Cemetery at Courtland.
ELSIE NORA WALLACE
Elsie Nora Wallace was born January 21, 1899 at Cuba, the daughter of George and Delia Jackson Pepper. She passed away November 25, 2004 at the Hilltop Lodge at Beloit. She had attained the age of 105 years, ten months and four days.
Survivors include three sons: Delbert Wallace of Minneapolis;, Wayne Wallace of Barnard and Bill Wallace of Midlothian, Texas; a daughter, Elsie Keeler of Solomon; a brother John Pepper of Minneapolis; 18 grandchildren, 35 great-grandchildren and 17 great-great-grandchildren.
The funeral was November 29 at Shields Funeral Home in Minneapolis with Rev. Ron Walker officiating. Memorials are to the charity of the donor's choice.
OLIVER J. "JIM" JONES
Oliver J. "Jim" Jones, 76, of Ocean Springs, Mississippi, died Saturday, Oct. 30, 2004. He was born in Salina on March 11, 1928, to Oliver Julian Jones and Adda Woodruff Jones.
He is survived by his wife, Hermine; two daughters, Jennifer Schuhsler and Katherine Burdick; three grandsons; two granddaughters; and a brother, Robert Jones of San Antonio.
A private service was held.
HAROLD W. REED
Harold William Reed, 70, of Salina died December 29, 2005. He was born May 26, 1935 in Salina.
Survivors include his wife Margie of the home; a son, Steve Reed of Lindsborg; and three daughters, Cathy Hlad of Salina, Debbie Breer of Assaria and Lori Srna of Tescott.
The funeral was January 2 at the Belmont Boulevard Christian Church in Salina. Burial was in Walnut Grove Cemetery, rural Culver. PHYLLIS ATCHLEY
Phyllis Mabel, the daughter of Hiram C. and Laura Mabel Smith Duvall was born April 1, 1929 on the family farm in Logan Township, Mitchell County, five miles southwest of Simpson. She departed this life on February 11, 2006 at the Minneapolis Good Samaritan Center. She was 76 years, ten months and ten days of age.
Survivors include: a brother, Richard Duvall of Beloit; three sisters, Marjorie Duvall and Darlene Duvall, both of Salina and Bonnie Landrum of Portland, Oregon.
The funeral is at 2 p.m. February 16, at Antioch Baptist Church in Ada.. The family suggests memorials to the Antioch Baptist Church.
EVAN CORMAN
Swinley Evan Corman, Minneapolis, died February 10, 2006 at Via Christi St. Joseph Medical Center, Wichita. He was born November 27, 1920 on a farm near Tescott, the son of Swinley Edgar and Dora Winnifred Allison Corman.
Survivors include four sons Ed of Wichita, Jim and Tom, both of Minneapolis and David of Odessa, Texas; and two daughters, Catie Mitchell of Wichita and Jane Anderson of Salina.
The funeral was February 14 at the First United Methodist Church in Minneapolis. Interment was in Highland Cemetery. Memorials are to the Corman Foundation for the Advancement of the Arts, in care of the funeral home.
DELANA LEHMANN
Delana Kay Lehmann, 26, died February 6, 2006 at St. Luke's Hospital in Kansas City, Missouri. She was born November 20, 1979 in Salina, the daughter of Merlyn and Judy Lowry Adee.
Survivors include her husband, Greg Lehmann of Abilene; her mother, Judy Adee of Abilene; her father, Merlyn Adee of Miltonvale; and a sister, Glenda Flora of Quinter.
The funeral was February 11 at the First Christian Church in Abilene. Interment was in Rose Meron Cemetery, Longford.

LORETTA CONSTABLE
Loretta Maxine Constable, 78, Salina, died Friday, February 3, 2006 at her home. Mrs. Constable was born Loretta Maxine Hook on Sunday, April 10,. 1927 in Osborne to Elmer and Gertrude Corbett Hook.
Survivors include three daughters, Linda Constable-Kaufman and spouse Gene of Wichita; Lila Adams and spouse Don of Tescott and Lola McKee and spouse Darrell of Culver.
The funeral was February 7, 2006 at the First Church of the Nazarene in Salina. Interment was in Gypsum Hill Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the church or Hospice of Salina
LORRAINE MEEHAN
Lorraine Lucille Meehan, 79, died February 8, 2006. She was born September 30, 1926 in Ottawa County, the daughter of Russell Byrl and Doris May Hathaway Bell.
Survivors include her husband Lynn of the home in Talmage; and three daughters, Barbara Beier and husband Ron of Topeka, Brenda Blair and husband Paul of Allen and Bev Hicks and husband David of Manhattan.
The funeral was February 11 at Danner Funeral Home in Abilene. Interment was in Prairiedale Cemetery at Talmage. Memorials are to a scholarship fund in her name through the Abilene Community Foundation in care of Danner Funeral Home, PO Box 758, Abilene, Ks 67410.
MARJORIE A. CAIN
Marjorie Cain passed away on April 15, 2006, at her home in Delphos. She was born Marjorie A. Anderson on March 13, 1916, in Minneapolis.
Survivors include her children Brent Cain of Topeka and Candy Cain of Wichita.
A celebration of life will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, April 21 at the First Presbyterian Church in Delphos. A private inurnment will follow at the Delphos Cemetery. Memorials are to Great Plain Diabetes Research, PO Box 3833, Wichita, Ks 67201.
HELEN LUCILE DENT
Helen Lucile Pratt Dent was born July 31, 1918 at Bancroft, Nebraska, the daughter of Sylvester V. and Emma C. Jensen Pratt. She passed to eternal life with her Savior on Palm Sunday, April 9, 2006 at the Ottawa County Health Center in Minneapolis. She had attained the age of 87 years.
Survivors include a son Edward Dent of Culver; and a daughter, Carolyn and husband William Dossett of Burlington.
The funeral was April 13 at Shields Funeral Home in Minneapolis. A private intermenty was held at Crown Point Cemetery, Culver.
GLENN KIRK
Glenn Kirk was born October 11, 1935 at Beloit, the son of Eugene and Ethel (Belzen) Kirk. He passed away April 11, 2006 at Westminster, Colorado.
A memorial service was held in Colorado. Interment will be in Highland Cemetery in Minneapolis.
LESTER "PETE" PRATER
Lester L. "Pete" Prater, 82, of Minneapolis died April 6, 2006 at the Ottawa County Health Center. He was born July 28, 1923 at Tescott, the son of Hobart F. and Lulu Mae (Roy) Prater.
Survivors include three sons, Richard Prater of Oroville, California, Dean Prater of Hartford and Carl Prater of Wells.
There was no service. The body was cremated.
