WEIR — Margaret M. Ross, 79 of Weir died at 6:46 p.m. Monday May
11th at the Mount Carmel Regional Medical Center in Pittsburg.
She was born December 8, 1929 in Weir, KS the daughter of Frank and
Grace E. (Jones) VanKam. She attended Weir elementary school and
was a graduate of Weir High School. She was a lifetime resident of the
Weir area.
Margaret married Edward Ross on November 8, 1947 in Columbus, KS;
he preceded her in death on September 26, 1994.
She was a beauty operator working for Powder Puff Beauty Salon for 15
years and worked for a year for Phyllis’s Beauty salon in Weir.
Margaret loved her grandkids, enjoyed the outdoors, crafts, woodworking
and painting.
Survivors include a daughter Mary Clugston of Pittsburg; daughter-in-law
and son-in-law Kathy and Steve Madison of Weir and daughter-in-law
and son-in-law Mary and Bill Mays; 3 sisters-Frances Thompson of Weir,
Ann Uber of Stockton, MO, Vikki Zacarello of Kansas City; 2 brothers,
Emile VanKam of Kansas City and Bill VanKam; 7 Grandchildren-Michelle
Armstrong and husband Don, Kristen Mitchell and husband Camron, Eric
Clugston, Barbie Middleton and husband Craig, Joey Ross and wife
Kimberly, Jamie Cook and husband Craig and Amy Brewer; 23 Great-
grandchildren and 2 Great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in
death by her parents, husband, 2 sons-John and Gary Ross; 2 sisters-
Mildred Genser and Dora Friend and a brother Frank VanKam.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Friday May 15, 2009 at the Bath-Naylor
Funeral Home in Weir with Aaron Williams officiating. Burial will follow in
the Hosey Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-7 p.m.
Thursday at the funeral home where friends may call after 1 p.m.

PITTSBURG — Shellie L. Cass, 34 of Pittsburg died at 10 a.m. Saturday
May 9, 2009 at the Mount Carmel Regional Medical Center Emergency
Room following a sudden illness.
She was born August 9, 1974 in Kokomo, Ind. the daughter of Joe and
Pamela (Dockery) Warner. She had been a resident of the Pittsburg
area for the past year moving from Tennessee. Shellie married Perry
Cass on April 17, 2002 in McMinn County, TN he survives in Tennessee.
She was currently working as a checker/ stocker at the Dollar General
Store in Pittsburg. She was also working part-time at her mother
(Pamela) day care center. Shellie was attending The Church of Jesus
Christ of Latter Day Saints in Pittsburg.
Survivors include her husband Perry of Tennessee; 4 daughters, Seirrah
Seal and Josie L. Cass both of Pittsburg, Emily and Courtney Cass both
of Etowah, TN; her mother and father Pamela and Dan Tilley of Pittsburg;
her father Joe Warner of Mexico; a brother Ralph “D.J.” Warner and
spouse Fabio of Mexico; 2 sisters Jenna (Warner) Barnett and spouse
Kevin of Modesto, CA, Destini (Warner) Martin and spouse Tim of
Brighton TN; maternal grandparents-Bill and Jean McManama of Indiana;
paternal grandparents Ralph and Joria Warner of Navota, CA;
grandparents Wanda and Leroy Tilley and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her maternal grandfather Charlie Dockery
and paternal great-grandmother Josie Warner House.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Friday May 15, 2009 at the Bath-Naylor
Funeral Home in Pittsburg with Bishop Corin Wilde officiating. Burial will
follow in the Crocker Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10 a.
m. until service time on Friday at the funeral home. Condolences can be

PITTSBURG — Gerald Clifton Pulley, 67 of Pittsburg, KS died at 5:30pm,
Saturday, May 9, 2009 at his home after along illness.
Gerald was born January 1, 1942 in Iola, Kansas to James C. and Ethel
(Rogers) Pulley. He attended schools in Iola, graduating from Iola High
School with the class of 1960.
On July 28, 1980, he married Rosetta I. Waring, in Pittsburg, Kansas.
She survives of the home.
Gerald was a cook for many years in the restaurant business.
Additional survivors include his sons Jerry “Gerald” Pulley and his wife
Kimberly of Dixon, MO; Rick Pulley and his wife Shiloh of Miami, OK,
James Pulley and his wife Melanie of Parsons, KS, Martin Pulley of
Kansas; daughters LaTanya Pulley of Parsons, KS, Melinda Clark of
Webb City, MO and Yolanda Pulley of Pittsburg, KS; sister Nancy Pulley
and Fiancé Dennis Rice of Iola, KS; brothers James Pulley of Kansas
City, KS, Tony Pulley and his wife Elizabeth of Kansas City, Kansas,
Armand Pulley and his wife Patricia of Iola, KS and Odell Pulley and his
wife Janet of Iola, Kansas; along with 36 grandchildren and numerous
great-grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.
Gerald was preceded in death by his parents; daughter Stephanie
Jennings; brothers Kenny Pulley and Clarence Washington; sisters
Barbara Pulley, Mary Catherine Pulley and Berna Coleman; two
grandsons KamRam twins.
Graveside services will be 2:00pm, Thursday, May 14, 2009 at Highland
ParkCemeteryin Pittsburg with Chaplain Wayne Mason officiating. The
family will receive friends from 1pm until 1:45pm on Thursday at Bath-
Naylor Funeral Home, 522 S. Broadway, Pittsburg, KS. Family and
friends are requested to meet at the funeral home on Thursday to leave

WEIR — Ida May Jones, 72 of Weir, KS died at 12 P.M., Saturday, May
09, 2009 at the family home in Weir.
Ida May was born on August 19, 1936 in Weir, the daughter of Herbert
Eugene and Erma May (Mapes) Hindman. She was united in marriage to
Cleo Max Jones, May 15, 1954.
She worked for the Pittsburg Census Bureau, the unemployment office,
Pittsburg State University, and was a pink lady for Mt. Carmel Medical
Center.
She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Cherokee.
She leaves behind her husband; of the home Cleo, son; Cleo Alan Jones
and wife Peggy of Girard, Kansas, Daughters; Debra Humble of Weir,
Kansas, Terri Thompson and husband Mark of Pittsburg, Kansas, Susie
Natalini and husband Brian of Columbus, Kansas, nine grandchildren,
Ben, John, and Julie Jones of Girard, Kansas, Orin Humble of rural
Pittsburg, Kansas, Erin Hensley of Joplin, Missouri, Kelsey, Talon, and
Deaven Thompson of Pittsburg, Kansas, and Kati Natalini of Columbus,
Kansas, seven great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Memorial services will be 1 pm, Thursday, May 14, 2009 at the First
Baptist Church in Cherokee with Rev. Jamie Tickle officiating. Burial will
be at a later date at the Council CornerCemeterySoutheast of Weir,
Kansas. Condolences may be left at www.bathnaylor.com.
Memorials may be given for the Harry Hines Memorial Hospice and/or the
Cherokee First Baptist Church Building Fund, these may be left at or

MCCUNE — Addison Lee Vanderpool, stillborn at 10:10 pm May 7, 2009
at the Mt. Carmel Regional Medical Center in Pittsburg, KS.
She was born the daughter of Kevin Vanderpool of Labette City, KS and
Nichole Gray of McCune, KS.
Additional survivors include Maternal Grandparents Wally and Shelly
Gray of Woodstock, IL; paternal grandparents Robert Vanderpool and
Barbara Dunn of Labette City; 6 aunts and uncles: Carmen Gray, Tony
and Doni Gray all of McCune, Kris Vanderpool of Oswego, KS, Kent and
Kody Vanderpool both of Labette City; Maternal great-grandparents
Sharon Gray of Oswego and Darlene Call of Miami, OK; paternal great
grandparents Bud and Bertha Dunn of Chetopa, KS and Raymond and
Charlene Collins of Labette City, and a cousin AJ Gray of McCune.
She was preceded in death by a maternal great grandfather Wallace
Gray, Sr.
Graveside services will be 10 am, Monday, May 11, 2009 at the Oswego
CityCemeterywith Rev. Dennis Johnson officiating. Burial will follow.
Family and friends are requested to meet at thecemeteryfor the
services. Arrangements
are under the direction of Bath-Naylor Funeral Home 522 S. Broadway,
Pittsburg, KS.

PITTSBURG — Nicolas Andrew Hine, 23 of Pittsburg, died at his home,
Sunday, May 3rd, following a brief illness.
He was born May 10, 1985 in Pittsburg Kansas.
He grew up in San Antonio, Texas, and resided in Pittsburg since 2000.
He is survived by his parents, Karen Willis of Pittsburg and Vince Hine of
Corpus Christi, TX; one sister, Molly Jo Hine of San Antonio; maternal
grandmother, Helen Willis of Pittsburg and paternal grandparents
George and Veva Jackson of Galena KS, and Vern Hine of San Antonio
TX; as well as aunts, uncles and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather Darrell "Dan"
Willis.
Graveside services will be 2 p.m. on Thursday, May 7, 2009 at the West
UnionCemeterywith Gene Glenn Officiating. Family will receive friends
at the funeral home from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday. Friends and family are
requested to meet at the funeral home and follow in procession to the
cemetery, the procession will leave the funeral home at 1:30.

In lieu of flowers, donations for Nic's final expenses may be left at or
