Don R. “Donnie” Rigensberg, 45 of Pittsburg, KS died at 12:57pm,
Wednesday, November 25, 2009 at Medicalodge South of Pittsburg, KS
after a long illness with cancer.
Donnie was born March 12, 1964 in Pittsburg, KS to Donald R. and
Virginia (Fenimore) Rigensberg. Donnie attended local schools,
graduating from Pittsburg High School with the class of 1982. He went on
to attend PSU for 2 years.
Donnie was a house manager of New Hope Services of Pittsburg.
Donnie was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in
Pittsburg. He enjoyed going to art exhibits, recitals concerts and art
walks. He was an avid reader. Donnie was fluent in foreign language,
speaking French and Spanish very well.
He is survived by his parents Don and Virginia Rigensberg of Pittsburg;
Brother Corbin Rigensberg and his wife Birgit of Pittsburg, close friend
Penny Cook and all of his co-workers at New Hope Services, along with 2
nieces and 3 nephews.
Donnie is preceded in death by his maternal grandparents Bertha
Oehme-Fenimore and Delbert Fenimore and paternal grandparents
Charles and Hattie (Benskin) Rigensberg.
Mass of Christian burial will be 10:30am, Monday, November 30, 2009
at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church with Fr. Thomas Stroot as
celebrant. Burial will follow in Crocker Cemetery. The family will receive
friends from 2-4pm on Sunday at Bath-Naylor Funeral Home, 522 S.
Broadway, Pittsburg, KS, where a Liturgical Prayer Services will be
recited at 2pm.
The family suggest expressions of sympathy be in the
form of memorials to the American Cancer Society c/o Kansas City Hope
Lodge, 1120 Pennsylvania Ave., Kansas City, MO 64105.

PITTSBURG — Arthur Collins, 85 of Overland Park, KS formerly of
Pittsburg died Sunday, November 22, 2009 at the Overland Park
Regional Medical Center.
He was born January 22, 1924 in Pittsburg the son of John and Clara
(Scott) Collins.
On September 24, 1945 he was united in marriage to Mary C. Mora at
the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Frontenac. She preceded him in
death in 2005.
Arthur worked for International Paper and Ace forms.
He was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Pittsburg.
Survivors include two daughters: Marsha Truta and husband Pete of
Overland Park, KS, Kathryn Sramek and husband Paul of Dallas, TX; a
sister Beverly Alex of Pittsburg; four grandchildren Allison Sramek of
London, England, Courtney Sramek of San Francisco, CA, Bryan Truta
and wife Erin of Merriam, KS and Brandon Truta of Overland Park along
with a beloved Cat Callie.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife and two half brothers
Jessie and Clifford Collins.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m., November 24, 2009 at the Bath-Naylor
Funeral Home with Fr. Thomas Stroot officiating. Burial will follow in the
Highland Park Cemetery.
Services and arrangements are under the direction of the Bath-
Naylor Funeral Home 522 S. Broadway Pittsburg, KS.

GIRARD — Larry V. Scroggins, 59 of Girard, KS, died at 2:30 am, Friday,
November 20, 2009 following a brief illness.
He was born August 10, 1950 in Pittsburg the son of Stanley V. and
Wilma (Fitzgerald) Scroggins.
Larry worked commercial construction for many years for Fluor-Daniel.
He later owned and operated a vending business.
He was a member of the Kansas Association of Old Time Pickers,
Fiddlers and Singers.
Survivors include his mother Wilma Scroggins of Girard, a sister Janice
Scroggins and her husband Gary Layton of Girard, a nephew David
Pietarila of Lake Forrest, CA and a great niece, baby Taylor Pietarila of
Willow Spring, NC.
He was preceded in death by his father and a nephew Steven Pietarila.
No attendant services are planned at this time.
Memorials may be left to “Taylor’s Education
Fund”; these may be left at or mailed to the funeral home. Cremation
services are under the direction of the Bath-Naylor Funeral Home 522 S.
Broadway, Pittsburg, KS 66762.

WEIR — Dr. Robert Dale “Doc” Brown, 83 of Weir, KS died at 9:27 p.m.,
Friday, November 20, 2009 at McCune Brooks Hospital in Carthage, MO.
Doc was born March 10, 1926 in Pittsburg, KS to Dewey R. and Lavone
A. (Ferguson) Brown. He attended schools in Webb City graduating with
the class of 1943. He went on to University of Missouri from 1948-1954
graduating with his B.S. degree as a Veterinarian.
Doc served his country in the United States Navy as a flagman. While
serving he received the Victory Medal. He was honorably discharged on
August 16, 1946 as a Signalman Third Class.
On October 18, 1944, in Columbus, Ks he married Blanche L. Ervin. She
preceded him in death on October 26, 1978.
Doc was a veterinarian for a few years in St. Joseph, MO. He worked as a
federal meat and poultry inspector for Hull & Dillon Meats in Pittsburg and
then the SW Missouri area for many years.
Doc was a member of the Masonic Lodge in Weir and was a longtime
member of the American Legion of Weir, KS. Doc was an avid Tri-State
Swingles Square Dance Club member.
Survivors include his sons Robert D. Brown, Jr. and his wife Linda of
Hutchinson, KS and Richard E. Brown and wife Patty of Partridge, KS;
daughters Peggy Buchanan and husband Gary of Eudora, KS, Barbara
J. Kirk of rural Weir, KS and Anita Robinson and husband Steve of
Columbus, KS; 7 grandchildren Susanne Mahoney and husband Joe,
Jade Brown and wife Heather, Nate Kirk and wife Kayla, Rob Brown, Jaci
Burns and husband Brad, Joah Gordon and husband Ryan, and Chelsey
Gatewood and husband Brett; along with 5 great-grandchildren Claire
Mahoney, Alex and Milo Brown, Brodrick Burns and Tatum Kirk.
Doc was preceded in death by his parents and sister-in-law Norma Brown.
Graveside services will be 10 a.m., Wednesday, November 25, 2009 at
BlackjackCemeteryin Missouri with Minister Brad Burns officiating, where
military rites will be given by the United State Naval Funeral Honors Detail
Team. Family and friends are requested to meet at thecemeteryon
Wednesday. The family will receive friends from 7-8 p.m. on Tuesday,
November 24 at Bath-Naylor Funeral Home, 104 W. Main St., Weir, KS.
The family suggests expressions of sympathy be in the form of memorials
to the SEK Humane Society, Memorials may be left at or mailed to Bath-
Naylor Funeral Home of Weir, KS.

PITTSBURG — Fredrick Dale Wilcox, Jr., 47 of Pittsburg, KS died at 3:37
a.m., Friday, November 20, 2009 at Mt. Carmel Regional Medical Center
in Pittsburg, KS.
Dale was born February 16, 1962 in Columbus, KS to Fredrick Dale and
Linda (Huston) Wilcox, Sr. He attended area schools graduating from
Columbus High School. He went on to attend truck-driving school.
On July 14, 1996, in Baxter Springs, KS, he married Mary C. Gagliardo.
She survives of the home.
Dale was a truck driver for many years working for various truck lines.
Dale was an avid NASCAR, Chiefs and St. Louis Cardinal Fan.
Additional survivors include his son Joesph Dale Wilcox and his wife Sara
of Cherokee, KS; mother Linda Brumback of Columbus, KS; brother
Todd A. Wilcox and wife Patti of Columbus, KS and sister Terri Kershaw
and husband Colin of Columbus, KS; step-sisters Leigh McWilliams and
husband James of Columbus, KS and Lisa Goben and husband Ed of
Columbus, KS; maternal grandmother Marjorie Huston of Columbus, KS
and step-grandparents Cloyd and Nadine Hilderbrand of Columbus, KS;
many nieces and nephews and along with his dog Colby and his cat
Snoozer.
Dale was preceded in death by his father and stepmother Fred and
Joyce Wilcox, Sr.; step-dad William R. “Bill” Brumback; maternal
grandfather David H. “Jack” Huston; paternal grandparents Harvey and
Mildred Wilcox and some aunts and uncles.
Graveside services will be 2 p.m., Monday, November 23, 2009 at Park
Cemetery in Columbus, KS with Rev. Dennis Johnson officiating. Informal
visitation will be from 10 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. on Monday at Bath-Naylor
Funeral Home, 611 S. East Ave., Columbus, KS. The family suggests
expressions of sympathy be in the form of memorials to the Methodist
Food Pantry in Columbus, KS. Memorials may be left at or mailed to Bath-
Naylor Funeral Home of Columbus, KS.

MULBERRY — Janice N. Wade, 53 of Mulberry, KS died at 12:31 p.m.
Monday, November 16, 2009 at the Mt. Carmel Regional Medical Center
following a long illness.
She was born September 23, 1956 in Pittsburg the daughter of Patrick E.
and Lois P. (Cleffman) Riley.
On June 21, 1975 she was united in marriage to Don Wade in Pittsburg.
Janice worked for many Nursing facilities around the area she also
worked for the Parsons Ammunition Plant in Parsons.
Survivors include husband Don of Mulberry, 2 daughters
Jennifer Fullhart and husband Daniel of Mulberry and Elizabeth Murr and
husband Efraim of Girard, Mother Lois P. Riley of Pittsburg, brother Ed
Riley and his wife Piney of Bartlesville, OK, two sisters Janell Allred and
husband Johnnie of Knob Noster, MO, Janene Hudiburg and husband
Leo of Pittsburg, grandmother Lola P. Cleffman of Pittsburg along with 5
grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her father, brother Patrick “Packy” Riley,
grandfather Raymond F. Cleffman and grandparents Ed and Susan Riley.
Family will receive friends at the Bath-Naylor Funeral Home from 2 p.m. –
5 p.m. on Sunday. A private burial of cremains will take place at Shiloh
Cemetery at a later date.
Memorials may be made to the Friendship Inn or help defray final
expenses; these may be left at or mailed to the funeral home. Services
and cremation arrangements are under the direction of the Bath-Naylor
Funeral Home 522 S. Broadway Pittsburg, KS.
