FRANKLIN — George Harley Hamm, 68 of Franklin, KS died at 5:12am,
Monday, August 2, 2010 at his home after a sudden illness.
He was born June 18, 1942.
He is survived by his wife, mother, 8 sons, one daughter, 14
grandchildren and one great-grandson.
Per his wishes his body has been taken for cremation. No services are

A. Joe Bartlett 73, of Pittsburg, KS joined his savior at 9:00pm Thursday
September 16, 2010 at Via Christi Hospital in Pittsburg, KS following a
long illness.
Joe was born May 20, 1937 in Haddam, KS the son of Joseph Wayne
and Electa Grace (Young) Bartlett. He came to this community in 1964
from Texas after being discharged from the Army. He grew up in
Wyoming and graduated from High School in Morrowville in 1955.
On August 24, 1961 he married
Dorothy Borgialli in Ft. Collins , CO ; she
survives at the home. Joe worked as a manager for Broadway Lumber in
Pittsburg , KS for 45 years retiring in 2008. He was on the Board of
Directors for Mid American Lumberman’s Association; President of
National Home Builders Association; City Commissioner in 1977; Active in
Chamber of Commerce and Rotary; President of the Local Full Gospel
Business Men’s Fellowship International from 1988-present; National
Director of the Fellowship from 1995-present; and presented scripture of
the day for the past 10 years on the radio.
Survivors include his wife, children Armand Kent Bartlett and wife GiGi of
North Andover, MA and Sheila Joy Shannon of Washington, KS; siblings
Don Bartlett and wife Leslie of Torrington, WY and Sandy Check and
husband Sven of Indianapolis, IN; 5 grandchildren and 4 great-
grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and son Nicky Joe.
Funeral Services will be 2pm Sunday September 19, 2010 at the
Lighthouse Tabernacle Church in Pittsburg , KS with Rev. Daryl Gaddy
officiating. Burial will take place at a private date in Greenwood
Cemetery in New Castle Wyoming. In lieu of flowers the family ask
expressions of sympathy be in the form of memorials to the One Day

PITTSBURG, KS – Maralyne J. Monsour, 72, of Pittsburg, KS, died at 4:
45 pm, Sunday, September 12, 2010 at her home. She had been in ill
health for 10 years.
She was born September 25, 1937 in Nevada, MO the daughter of
Glenn Edward and Letha Sherrick Owens. She was graduated from
Nevada High School in 1955 and was graduated from the Mt. Carmel
Medical Center School of Nursing at PSU in 1958.
She had lived in Pittsburg since 1960.
She married
Peter T. Monsour on September 27, 1958 in Pittsburg,
KS. He preceded her in death on June 22, 2010.
Mrs. Monsour had been a homemaker and was retired as a RN
working at Providence Hospital in El Paso; Mt. Carmel Medical Center in
Pittsburg and St. John’s Medical Center in Joplin.
She was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in
Pittsburg, KS and St. Mary’s Altar Society.
Survivors include one son Peter L. Monsour III of Pittsburg; three
daughters Maresa Monsour of Kansas City; Alesia McDonald of Clinton,
MO; Zena Weist of Overland Park, KS; a twin sister Masolyn Esch of
Joplin; a half brother John Owens of KC, MO; 11 grandchildren Jeffry
Neer; Jessica Lair; Katelyn Neer; Mariah Crowe; Mirjana Crowe; Logan
Weist; Michaela Weist; Landon Weist; Aviana Weist Mariah Monsour;
Peter Monsour IV; 2 great grandchildren James Neer and Payton Lair.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and one
daughter Annette Molina.
Her care was provided by her children, Harry Hynes Hospice Center
and Bobbie Snyder, a very special friend.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 2 pm Wednesday, September 15,
2010 at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church with Father Chad Arnold,
as celebrant. The soloist will be Dolores Towner and the organist will be
Sharon Barone. Pallbearers will be David L. Esch, Brian Esch, Steven
Esch, Mark Esch, Zach Sinnett, and Jeffry Neer. Honorary pallbearers
will be David Esch, John Weist, Larry McDonald, Chris Vlach and Justin
Lair. Burial will be in the Highland Park Cemetery, Pittsburg, KS. The
parish rosary will be recited at 6:30 pm Tuesday, September 14, 2010 at
the Bath-Naylor Funeral Home, 522 S. Broadway in Pittsburg, KS. The
family will receive their friends after the rosary service at the funeral
home. A memorial has been established to Harry Hynes Hospice or St.
Mary’s Altar Society in care of the funeral home.

WEIR, KS – Viola P. Tillman, 95, of rural Weir, died at 11:45 am,
Saturday, September 11, 2010 at her home. She had been in ill health
for one year.
She was born October 15, 1914 in Falcon, MO the daughter of
Joseph and Mary Graham Doublin. She had lived at rural Weir since
1954, moving from rural Pittsburg, where she had lived since 1943. She
was a graduate of Lebanon High School.
She married
Mack Tillman on November 6, 1943 in Pittsburg. He
preceded her in death on November 14, 1983.
Mrs. Tillman was a homemaker for most of her life. She worked as
a Certified Medication Aide at Medicalodge South in Pittsburg for 17
years, retiring at the age of 75.
Membership was held in the Nashville Christian Church.
Survivors include three daughters, Carolyn S. Ayres of Las Vegas,
NV; Betty L. Cooper of Fall River, KS; Marrion E. DeLange of Hepler,
KS; 3 sons, Hervey J. Bone of Girard; Bill D. Tillman of the home at
rural Weir; Alan Wayne Burton of Independence, MO; one brother Dow
Doublin of Hartford City, Indiana; 17 grandchildren and 29 great-
grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, 5 brothers, two sisters
and 2 grandchildren Alex and Michell.
Funeral services will be 10 am Wednesday, September 15, 2010 at
the Bath-Naylor Funeral Home in Weir, KS with the Rev. Bob Litz of the
Nashville Christian Church, officiating. Burial will be in the Columbus
City Cemetery. The family will receive their friends from 7 to 8 pm
Tuesday at the funeral home. Friends may call anytime after 2 pm
Tuesday at the Bath-Naylor Funeral Home, 104 W. Main in Weir, KS. A
memorial has been established to the Nashville Christian Church or
Harry Hynes Hospice. Memorials may be left at or mailed to the funeral

COLUMBUS, KS - Jimmie M. Larsen, age 71, of Columbus, KS, formerly
of Denver, CO, died Friday, September 10, 2010 at St. John’s Medical
Center in Joplin, MO.
He was born January 5, 1939 in Denver, Colorado, moving to
Columbus in 2004.
Mr. Larsen served in the US Air Force and was honorably
discharged in 1959.
He married
Diane K. Blanck on September 1, 1963 in Buckley,
Illinois.
Mr. Larsen worked for Precision Car Wash as an assistant
Manager; Peoples Choice Motor Coach as a Driver; the DOE at Rocky
Flats as a training coordinator foreman; meteorological operator;
Jefferson County Heavy Equipment Operator; Martin-Marrietta as a
truck driver; fork lift driver and assembly.
Survivors include his wife Diane K. Blanck Larsen of the home in
Columbus; three sons Wayne Larsen of Broomfield, Co; Dean Larsen
of Lochbuie, CO; Darren Larsen of Denver, CO; two brothers Jerry
Larsen of Bailey, CO; Jake Larsen of Thornton, CO three
grandchildren Jordan, Austin, and Devin; and one great-grandchild
Addison. He was preceded in death by his parents Addison and Helen
Clark Larsen; three sisters Judy, Joyce and Jo Ann and a brother Jack.
Services will be 2 pm Monday, September 13, 2010,at the Bath-
Naylor Funeral Home, 611 S. East Avenue in Columbus, KS, with Rev.
Theodore E. Cook Sr., of the Zion Lutheran Church in Pittsburg
officiating. Graveside services and burial will be 2:30 pm Tuesday,
September 14, 2010, at the NationalCemeteryin Ft. Scott, KS, with full
military honors by the Olson Frary Burkhart VFW Post# 116 of Ft. Scott.
The family will receive their friends from 7 to 8 pm Sunday, September
12, 2010 at the funeral home. Friends may call anytime after 2 pm

Nathan James Chapman, 26 of rural Pittsburg, KS died Friday, August
27, 2010 at the Via Christi ER from a sudden unexpected illness.
He was born January 26, 1984 at the Freeman Hospital in Joplin, MO,
the son of James P. and Sherryl (Beaver) Chapman. He attended
Pittsburg schools and graduated from the Pittsburg High School with the
class of 2002. He was currently a sophomore at Labette County
Community College, where he was enrolled in Computer and Information
Systems.
He enjoyed listening to all types of music and spending time with his
family, friends and pets. He was a passionate video gamer and avid
computer user. He also loved watching movies and working with his Dad
at Chapman’s Locksmithing. Nathan was an exceptional student, he was
invited to join the Phi Theta Kappa Chapter, for membership in the
International Honor Society. He tutored several students in college
courses.
Survivors include his parents, a sister Audrey Hubler and husband Scott
of Webb City, MO, a brother Jake Chapman and wife Rhonda of
Phoenix, AZ; maternal grandparents Keith and Marilyn Joann Beaver of
Pittsburg; four nephews Jacob, Jonathan and Joseph Hubler, Jesse
Edward Ross; two nieces Isabella Hubler and Alyssa Ross. And a special
niece Rose.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Charles and
Pauline Chapman, maternal great-grandparents Marion and Letha
Moore, and a paternal aunt Cheryl Halford.
Memorial services will be 2 pm Thursday, September 2, 2010 at the
Bath-Naylor Funeral Home with Rev. Daryl Gaddy officiating.
