Raymond L. Kresyman 77, of Columbus, KS died 8:52pm Monday
November 8, 2010 at his home following a short illness.
Raymond was born September 2, 1933 in Wentworth, MO the son of
John and Mary Regina (Bruenn) Kresyman. He grew up in Pierce City,
MO and was a graduate of Pierce City High School in 1951. He spent 20
years in Kansas City before later moving to Vinita, OK. He spent 3 years
their before moving to Columbus, KS in 1975. He was a veteran of the
Army and spent time in Okinawa, Japan during his time in service.
On June 9, 1956 Raymond married
Hazel Carlson at the St. Rose of
Lima Catholic Church in Columbus, KS; she survives at the home.
Raymond was in the Car Wash Business and owned and operated Ray
and Steve’s Car Wash in Columbus, KS. He was a member of the St.
Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Columbus, KS; a member of the
Knights of Columbus; enjoyed watching sports especially Columbus
Titan athletics and work was his life.
Survivors include his wife; children Trish Carroll and husband Doug of
Columbus, KS, Becky Beck and husband Mike of Joplin, MO and Steve
Kresyman and wife Karen of Columbus, KS; grandchildren Kyle Carroll,
Derek Carroll, Michelle Meeks, Mikey Crossland, Matt Crossland, Ashton
Wilcox, Kylie Livingston and Zackery Kresyman; 6 great-grandchildren
and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, son Raymond L. Kresyman
Jr., siblings Thomas, Edward, Leo J., Elizabeth Kresyman, Johnnie, Mary
Ellen Terhune, Clarence and James.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 10am Friday November 12, 2010 at the
St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Columbus, KS with Fr. Chrysostom
Ah Maung as celebrant. Rosary will be recited at 7pm Thursday
November 11, 2010 at the Bath-Naylor Funeral Home in Columbus, KS
where family will receive friends following the rosary. Friends may call
the funeral home after 2pm on Thursday. In lieu of flowers the family
ask expressions of sympathy be in the form of memorials to the St. Rose

Margaret Ann Johnson, 83 of Pittsburg died Wednesday October
27, 2010 at her home in Pittsburg .
She was born June 29, 1927 in Fleming , KS the youngest of nine
children the daughter of Joe and Mary (Zeleznik) Zupan. She was a
lifetime resident of the Southeast Kansas area and was a 1945 graduate
of Cherokee High School .
Margaret married
Robert (Bob) Johnson on September 10, 1949
at Saint Barbara’s Catholic Church in Chicopee , KS ; he preceded her
in death on April 5, 1998 .
She was a homemaker and prior to her marriage to Mr. Johnson
she worked retail sales.
Margaret was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church
in Pittsburg and a member of the Former St. Barbara’s Catholic Church
in Chicopee and a member of the SNPJ Lodge.
Survivors include two sons John Johnson of Pittsburg , Roger
Johnson and wife Roberta of Topeka ; three Grandchildren Paul
Johnson and wife Dana, Chris Johnson, Kimberly Workman and
husband Dave; four Great-grandchildren and several nephews. She
was preceded in death by her parents, husband and eight brothers and
sisters.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a .m. Tuesday November 2,
2010 at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Pittsburg with Father
Adam Keiter as celebrant, burial will follow in the Hosey HillCemeteryin
Weir. The parish rosary will be recited at 6 p.m. Monday at the Bath-
Naylor Funeral Home in Pittsburg where the family will receive friends
following until 8 p.m. Friends may call the funeral home after 2 p.m.

Grace E. Loyd 88, of Columbus, KS died 11:05pm Wednesday October
27, 2010 at the Medicalodge of Columbus following a long illness.
Grace, a lifetime resident of Cherokee County was born January 13,
1922 in Columbus, KS the daughter of George W. and Irene (Mitchell)
Christiansen in the Center Star District north of Columbus. She was the
oldest of eight children. She grew into a woman there attending Center
Star Grade School and CCCHS with the class of 1939.
She graduated from Kansas State University in 1946. She served in the
Marine Corps Women’s Reserve as a technician in the Marine Corps
Photographic Section in Pearl Harbor.
She retired in 1983 from the Social and Rehabilitation Services after 21
years of service. She was a past-president of the Cherokee County
Genealogical Society of Southeast Kansas and was a member of the
First Church of God. She also was a certified para-legal and past
president of the Columbus Museum .
She married
Kenneth L. Loyd on July 16, 1956 in Columbus , KS and
made their home in Lyon Township south of Columbus .
Survivors include a son William R. Oliver of Greenwood, AR; foster son
Billy Joe Loyd of West Mineral, KS; brother Ted K. Christiansen of
Powell, WY; sisters Mrs. Charles Fitzgerald Jr. (Jean) of Columbus, KS,
Mrs. Hollis (Vera) McMillian of Leavenworth, KS, Mrs. Ernie (Dorothy)
Yaege of Manhattan, KS and Mrs. Melvin (Mary) Nolte of Arkansas; also
there are numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and
nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents 2 brothers Fred Christiansen
and Everett Christiansen and a daughter Ann Morgan (Dirk).
Graveside Services will be 2pm Friday October 29, 2010 at the Park
Cemetery in Columbus, KS with Rev. Dennis Johnson officiating. Family
will receive friends from 12-1:30pm prior to the service at the Bath-
Naylor Funeral Home in Columbus, KS. Arrangements and services are
under the direction of Bath-Naylor Funeral Home of Columbus, KS.

Randy L. Peak , 56 of Pittsburg died Tuesday October 26, 2010
at his home in Pittsburg .
He was born April 24, 1954 in Kansas City , MO the son of Leo
and Billie (Talarico) Peak. He attended St. Mary’s Elementary School
and was a 1972 graduate of Colgan High School .
Randy was a veteran of the United States Army serving his
country from 1981 until 1990. He was discharged during the Persian
Gulf War.
He married
Roxanne Pearson in 1978 in Pittsburg , KS ; they were
later divorced.
Randy worked and sold insurance for Prudential Life Insurance
Company.
He was of the Catholic Faith.
Survivors include three sons Cory Peak of Joplin, MO, Chris Peak
of Pittsburg and Matthew Peak of Pittsburg; his parents Leo and Billie
Peak of Pittsburg; a brother Ray Peak of Pittsburg; a sister Roxie
Loewenstein of Wichita and four grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Friday October 29, 2010 at the
Bath-Naylor Funeral Home Pittsburg, KS with Father Thomas Stroot
officiating. Burial and full military honors will follow in the Fort Scott
NationalCemetery. The family will receive friends from noon until

Frances A. Reilly, 86 of Pittsburg died at 7:35 p.m. Tuesday
October 26, 2010 at the Via Christi Hospital in Pittsburg .
She was born November 14, 1923 in Franklin , KS the daughter of
John and Frances (Femec) Paulin. She was a graduate of Arma High
School . She lived in the Pittsburg area her entire life.
Frances married
James M. Reilly on June 10, 1950 in Frontenac ,
KS ; he preceded her in death on April 24, 2004.
She was a homemaker. She also worked for Spencer Chemical
Company and with her husband James at his company Ball Supply
Company.
Frances was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church
in Pittsburg .
Survivors include a daughter Deborah A. Skahan and husband
Benny of Pittsburg; two sons Kevin J. Reilly and wife Laura of Richmond,
VA, James M. Reilly and wife Jill of DeBary, FL; a sister Anna Marie
Paulin of Pittsburg; 7 Grandchildren and 4 Great-grandchildren. She
was preceded in death by her parents and a sister Marguerite O’Nelio.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m. Saturday October 30th at
Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Pittsburg with Father Thomas
Stroot as celebrant. Burial will follow in the Highland ParkCemetery.
The parish rosary will be recited at 6 p.m. Friday at the Bath-Naylor
Funeral Home in Pittsburg where the family will receive friends following

Charles Don (Butch) Sears 64, of Grove, OK, formally of Crestline
passed away 10:50pm Monday October 25, 2010 at his home following a
long illness.
Charles was born March 3, 1946 in Crestline, KS the son of John and
May (Bailey) Sears. He was a graduate of Riverton High School in 1964.
He was a veteran of the United States Air Force serving in Vietnam.
Charles was a member of the Free Will Baptist Church in Grove, OK;
was a member of the VFW, American Legion, a Mirza Shriner and a
Mason. Charles also loved to write, play water sports, a Dallas Cowboy
fan and PSU fan.
Survivors include his children Brandee Switzer and husband Brian of
Pittsburg, KS, Chloe Hopper of Fairland, OK; siblings Dan Sears and
wife Sandi of Fort Walton Beach, FL, Maurice Sears and wife Martha of
Jackson, GA, Shirley Purdy and husband David of Pittsburg, KS, Sue
Mishler of Tulsa, OK and Johnna Dodson of Crestline, KS; grandchildren
Chloe, Emily and Katie and great-grand-daughter Teagan.
He was preceded in death by his parents and sister Phyllis Cobb.
Memorial Services will be 10am Friday October 29, 2010 at the
Bath-Naylor Funeral Home of Columbus, KS with Rev. Sam Smith
officiating. Private committal services will take place at later date.
