Joanne Caroline Roy, 69 of Arma, died at 7:02 p.m. Wednesday
January 5, 2011 at the Medicalodge South Nursing Home in Pittsburg .
She was born November 21, 1941 in Lynn , MA the daughter of
James A. Sr. and Mary Elizabeth ( Savoy ) McGilvary. She moved to
Kansas in 1992 and has been a resident of Arma for the past 17 years.
Joanne married
Rene Roy on April 30, 1965 ; he survives at the
home.
While living in Massachusetts Joanne worked for Analog Devices.
When she moved to the SEK area she worked as a CNA and CMA for
several local nursing facilities.
She was a member of the St. Joseph ’s Catholic Church in Arma,
the Arma American Legion Auxiliary, the Eagles Lodge and a member of
the Golden Era.
Survivors include her husband Rene of the home; a son Randy
Roy of Pace, FL; two daughters Michelle Camp of Arma, Darlene Claffey
of Arma; a brother James A. McGilvary Jr. of Arma , KS ; 15
grandchildren and 2 Great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death
by her parents and a sister Mary McKinley.
Viewing and visitation services will be 11 a .m. Monday January
10th at the Bath-Naylor Funeral Home in Pittsburg with Father Lawrence
Carney officiating. The family will receive friends following the services.
A reception will be held following the visitation services at the Golden
Era Community Building in Arma. Private family graveside memorial
services will be Tuesday January 11th at the Garden of Memories
Cemetery in Pittsburg with Father Lawrence Carney officiating. Friends

Lois May Maddox, 85 of Girard, passed away December 30, 2010 at the
Girard Medical Center.
She was born November 16, 1925 in Kansas City, KS the daughter of
Roy Albert and Edith Dale (LaMunyon) Thurman.
On June 3, 1950 she was united in marriage to Jake Maddox, Jr. in Iola,
KS; he preceded her in death on February 5, 1994.
Lois was a homemaker and also worked a short time for an airplane
manufacturing company in Wichita. Church membership was held in the
Christian Church, she was also a member of AARP.
Survivors include a daughter Linda Hudson of Girard, three brothers
Fern Thurman of Arkansas City, KS, Louis Ray Thurman of Lenexa, KS,
Jim Thurman of Wichita, KS, two grandchildren Larry Hudson, Jr. of
Australia and Dee Dee Hudson of Basehor, KS along with three great
grandchildren Jake, Tristan and Kaylyn.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, six brothers
Everett, Earl, Floyd, Lloyd, Melvin and Jim Thurman, three sisters Helen
Marie(infant), Darlene Wheeler and Thelma Rhodes.
Graveside services will be 11 am, Tuesday, January 4, 2011 at the
Pleasant ViewCemeterywith Rev. Dennis Johnson officiating. Family
will receive friends at the Bath-Naylor Funeral Home in Weir beginning at
10 am Tuesday until the procession leaves for the cemetery.

Lisa Marie Harvey, 36 of Pittsburg died at 12:45 a.m. Friday
December 24, 2010 at the Via Christi Hospital in Pittsburg following a
lengthy battle with cancer.
She was born February 3, 1974 in Pittsburg , KS the daughter of
Raymond Eugene and Donna Sue (Fletcher) Bunney. She was a
lifetime resident of Pittsburg .
Lisa married
Kevin Harvey on February 14, 1992 in Arma , KS ; he
survives at the home.
She was a member of the Lighthouse Tabernacle in Pittsburg .
Survivors include her husband of the home; a daughter Sabrina
Harvey and a son Kevin Harvey Jr. both of Pittsburg ; her mother and
two brothers Raymond Bunney Jr. and Kenny Clark both of Pittsburg .
She was preceded in death by her father, maternal and paternal
grandparents, aunts and an uncle.
According to her wishes Lisa has been taken for cremation.

PITTSBURG — Patsy Ann Baker, 63, passed away Friday, December
17, 2010, at her home in Pittsburg, KS. She was born January 24, 1947,
in Pittsburg, the daughter of Eddie Fleck and Mary Verna Smith. She
was a graduate at Pittsburg High School. She also attended Labette
Community College, in Parson, KS.
She was a homemaker.

Leroy “Pete” Miller. She later married
Gary Pollock. After
Gary she later married
Bruce Baker JR. March 19, 1979 in Miami, OK.
He preceded her in death December 24, 2001.
Survivors include 2 sons, Donald Miller, of Valdosta, GA. and Bruce
Baker III of Pittsburg, 2 Daughters, Windy Clay and Brigitte Baker, both
of Pittsburg. Her mother, Mary Verna Fleck, 1 sister, Lenore Powell,
both of Pittsburg, and 1 brother, Terry Fleck of Asbury, MO. 20
grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and a special friend, Henry Ford.
She was preceded in death by her husband Bruce Baker JR, 1 son,
Eddie Robert Miller;, 1 daughter, Patricia Lowe; her father, Eddie Fleck,
and 1 great-grandson.
Funeral Service will be 10:00 A.M., Tuesday, December 21 at the
Lighthouse Temple Church Of God In Christ, in Pittsburg, KS., with Rev.
Walter Simpson officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Olive Cemetery, in

Clementine Alice Munn, 95 of Frontenac, KS passed away
Thursday, May 5, 2011 in Frontenac.
She was born December 30, 1915 in Kirkwood, KS the daughter
of Arthur Ellsworth and Mary M. (Westerlin) Chance.
Clementine married
Lewis Earl Munn January 8, 1965 in Miami,
OK. He preceded her in death September 10, 1994. She was a
homemaker.
Survivors include a sister, Lydia Irene “Billie” Osborn of Joplin,
MO; Several nieces and nephews. Close special friends Brian and Mary
Kranker and Family. Also survives is her special dog Josie.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and a sister,
Lucille Davidson.
Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Saturday, May 7 2011 at Bath-
Naylor Funeral Home in Pittsburg with Pastor Dennis Pashke officiating.
Burial will follow at the Garden of Memories. Visitation will be from 2-8 p.

Linda Sue Fowler, 55 of Scammon KS died Wednesday, May 4,
2011 at Mount Vernon Missouri Rehabilitation Center.
Linda was born August 20, 1955 in Richwood, WV the daughter of
Jack Daniel and Amanda Jane (McKinery) Overbaugh.
She married
Roger Fowler December 11, 1971 in Nicholas
County. He preceded her in death March 14, 2007.
Linda lived in Mt. City Tennessee for 20 years before moving to
Scammon. She was a homemaker and a member of the Red Hat Society.
Survivors include daughter Angela Oplotnik and husband Calub of
Scammon. Grandchildren Linda and Wanda Fowler; Cody Miller; Logan,
Tori, and Gage Oplotnik; Jessica and Jennifer Garvin; William Tollette
and John Cogar. 2 sisters, Mary Fowler and Phillis Persinger, both of
Richwood, WV. 1 Brother, Eugene Overbaugh of Mills Creek, WV.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, 1 son,
Timothy Lee “Tim” Fowler and 2 brothers, Keith Edwards Overbaugh
and Carlos Daniel Overbaugh.
The Family has requested Cremation with no Services. Burial will

LTC Harold Eugene “Gene” Sailsbury Ret, 71 of Pittsburg, died at 7:26
pm, Monday, May 2, 2011 at his home following a short illness.
He was born May 6, 1939 in Parsons, KS the son of Homer and Mildred
(Hunter) Sailsbury. He graduated from Oswego High School and then
went on to the University of Tulsa and then finished at Northeastern
Oklahoma A & M in Miami, OK with a degree in Nursing.
On March 2, 1977 he was united in marriage to Diane Hosman in Miami,
OK; she survives him of the home.
Gene entered the US Navy on Aug 12, 1957 and was honorably
discharged in August of 1959. He later joined the US Army Reserves
where he spent 20 years retiring with the rank of Lieutenant Colonel
serving with the 325th General Hospital and 313 HUS
Gene worked for the Community Health Center of Southeast Kansas, as
Dr. Steven Werders nurse. He also worked for the Girard hospital as
the director of nursing and retired the CEO in 2000, the Mt. Carmel
Medical Center, and the Crawford County Mental Health and Health Dept.
He was a member of the Ham Radio Operators Club, past member of
Pittsburg Police Reserve officers, Past President of the National
Association of Nurses and a KSNSA district officer.
Additional survivors include two sons Stanton Sailsbury and wife Andrea
of Frontenac, Michael Sailsbury and wife Laurie of McKinney, TX;
daughter Janet Sailsbury-Cochran of Pittsburg; three grandchildren and
one great grandchild; a nephew Steven McCoy and several other
nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a twin brother Roland Dean
Sailsbury and a sister Shirley Kelly.
Funeral services will be 1 pm Friday, May 6, 2011 at the Lighthouse
Tabernacle with Rev. Daryl Gaddy officiating. Burial will follow in the
Highland Park Cemetery. Friends may come by the funeral home from
10 am to 7 pm Thursday and from 8 am Friday until 11am. Condolences
