Blanche was born April 15, 1908, in Madison County, Indiana. She married W.J. Parker March 30, 1930. They moved to this area in 1949. She was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church, Kansas City, KS. Blanche was a school teacher, homemaker, and beautician. She was preceded in death by her husband, W.J. "Pappy" Parker. Vernie was a long time member of First Baptist Church, 2900 Minnesota Ave. Kansas City, KS. where she was a member of the Win-One Class and Missionary Circles and a charter member and volunteer for the Shepherd's Center of Kansas City, KS. She bowled in her Wednesday, Ladies League every winter for over thirty years up to the age of 70. She leaves her husband of 54 years, Robert E. Tevis, of the home; two sons, Richard Michael Tevis, Gardner, KS; Randy Eugene Tevis, Kansas City, KS; brother, Jack Kelly, Shawnee, KS; 3 grandchildren, Sean, Bridget, and Kurt; and 3 cousins, Linda Qaas, David Waite, and Billy Gibson Marjorie will be most remembered for her loving, outgoing personality, her eagerness to enjoy life to the fullest, and of course for her beautiful soprano voice.
