Eugenia S. Herzik 61, of Weir, KS died 10:10pm Monday July 16, 2012
at the Via Christi Hospital in Pittsburg, KS following an illness.
Eugenia was born August 15, 1950 in Great Bend, KS the daughter of
James Frank and Mathilda E. (Churchill) Tuxhorn. She was a lifelong
resident of the area and attended area schools. She was married to
Joe Herzik; he preceded her in death in July of 1996. Eugenia was a
homemaker; she was of the Christian Faith, loved gardening and most
of all her family.
Survivors include her children Leeann Ibarra and husband Josh of
Arizona City, AZ, Billie Young of Weir, KS, Robert Young and wife Kayla
of Weir, KS and Richard McCall and wife Chi of Olathe, KS; siblings
Frances Marquart and husband Gordon of Arizona City, AZ, Donald
Elsen and wife Ellie of Dodge City, KS, Paul Tuxhorn of Weir, KS,
James Tuxhorn of Ottawa, KS and Rose Best and husband Mark of
Scammon. KS and 16 grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.
Funeral Services will be 1pm Friday July 20, 2012 at the First Baptist
Church in Cherokee, KS with Rev. Josh Ibarra officiating. Burial will
follow at the Hosey HillCemeteryin Weir, KS. Family will receive friends
from 12-1pm prior to the service at the church. In lieu of flowers the
family ask expressions of sympathy be in the form of memorials to the
First Baptist Church in Cherokee, KS. Friends may drop off or mail
memorials to the Bath-Naylor Funeral Home 104 W. Main St. Weir, KS

Randy Roe Parsons, “R.R.P.” 54, of West Mineral passed away
Sunday, July 15, 2012. Randy had lived in West Mineral all of his li fe.
He was born June 27, 1958 to Earl C. JR. and Audrey (La Forte)
Parsons. Randy married Patsy Brumback in 1985. They later divorced
in 1987. Randy enjoyed reading History of the Indian Tribes,
Gardening and Fishing. He loved his family and was always willing to
help anyone who needed help. He is survived by his daughter, Mandi
Roze (Parsons) Cruz. 3
Brothers, Earl C. Parsons JR of West Mineral, William Dee “Bill”
Parsons and wife Cathy of West Mineral and Terry Keith of Kansas
City, Kansas. 3 sisters, Barbara Kay Downs and husband Jim of
Scammon Route, Carol Jean DeVore of Pittsburg and Kim Parsons of
West Mineral. 2 Grandsons, Emiliano Cruze and Oswaldo Cruz. And
many nieces and nephews that he dearly loved. He was preceded in
death by his parents; 2 Sisters, June Potocnik and Connie Parsons. 4
brothers, Ronald Parsons, twin brother Rick Parsons, Gary Parsons
and Jackie Parsons. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service
will be held at a later date. In lieu flowers, memorials may be made out
to the Randy Roe Parsons Memorial Fund. Memorials may be dropped
off or mailed to Bath-Naylor Funeral Home, 104 West Main St. Weir,
Kansas, 66781. Arrangements are under the direction of Bath-Naylor
Funeral Home of Weir.

Mary "Catherine" Stevens, 75, of Mindenmines, MO, went to heaven to
be with her loving husband on Sunday, July 15, 2012 at 7:00 a.m.

Catherine was born on September 1, 1936 in Liberal, MO the daughter
of Ralph Enis Lea and Lida Lucille Holt. She attended Liberal and
Pittsburg schools.

On July 17, 1954, she married David "Lloyd" Stevens in Pittsburg, KS.
He preceded her in death on December 26, 2003. Catherine worked
her entire life as a devoted homemaker.

Her greatest joy in life was her family. She enjoyed cooking, gardening,
spending time outside on her swing and walking from sun-up until
sun-down. She participated in "Walk-Kansas" for three consecutive
years.

Survivors include children Allen Stevens and wife Kathy of
Mindenmines, MO, Vickie Woods of Alton, MO, Tom Stevens and wife
Belinda of Mindenmines, MO, Melissa Proctor and husband David of
Mindenmines, MO, and Kyle Campiti and husband Shawn of Frontenac,
KS; siblings Pinky Briggs of Alton, MO, Richard Lea of Mindenmines,
MO, Thelma Barton of Alton, MO, and Debbie Williams of Alton, MO; 14
grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and
nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, son Timothy
W. Stevens, granddaughter Shannon Woods, grandson Brian Woods,
son-in-law Leslie Woods and sister Wanda Redd.

Memorial graveside services will be 1 pm, Friday, July 20, 2012 at
RosebankCemeteryin Mulberry, KS. Email condolences may be left at

James A. “Sonny” Giles, 65 of Croweburg, died July 13, 2012 at his
home.

He was born July 25, 1946, in Pittsburg the son of Leroy and Kathryn
(Jackson) Nelson.

On June 18, 1967 he was united in marriage to Carol Allmon at the Mt
Hebron Church in Pittsburg; she survives him of the home.

Sonny worked for Kansas City Southern Railroad as a conductor for
many years.

He was a long time member of the Lighthouse Tabernacle in Pittsburg
and a lifetime resident of Southeast Kansas.

Additional survivors include two sons: Jamie Giles and wife Kerri of
Springfield, MO, Jason Giles and Amanda of Pittsburg; one daughter
Jenaya McHenry of Wichita, KS, Father Leroy and step-mother Louise
Nelson of Ft. Scott, KS; four sisters: Judy Sharp and husband James,
Marva Nelson and husband Thomas, Sarah Thorns, and Edythe Boyd;
four brothers: Marion “Bubba” Nelson and wife Margie, Leroy “Tubby”
Nelson, Jr., William Nelson and wife Janet and Steven Giles; 8
grandchildren: Jamichael, Dalton, Taylor, Jalen, Jordan, Cameron,
Tyler and Abdula; a Godson Ishmael Elkamil and a host of nieces and
nephews.

He was preceded in death by his Mother, sister Beverly Turner and
Maternal grandmother Luella Jackson.

Memorial services will be 10:30 am, Thursday, July 19, 2012 at the
Lighthouse Tabernacle Church with Rev. Daryl Gaddy and Rev. Clifford
Allmon officiating. Condolences may be left at www.bathnaylor.com.

Ronald L. McCarley SR, 63 of Arcadia, Kansas passed away
Wednesday, July 11, 2012 at Via Christi Hospital. He was born March
10, 1949 in Detroit, Michigan the son of Clarence Lynn and Geraldine
Nadine (Caputo) McCarley. On August 29, 1975 Ron was united in
marriage to Kathy (Read) McCarley in Fort Scott, Kansas. She
survives of the home. Ron worked for the Webb City Fire Department
until 1993 when he retired due to a job related disability. After retiring
from the fire department he went on to work for R & C transportation as
a owner/operator. Daughters Ronda Jameson and husband Charlie of
Opolis, Kansas Lori McCarley and husband Terry of Liberal. Son Ron
McCarley JR. and wife Maggie of McCune, Kansas. 8 Grandchildren;
Charlie III, Kayla and Dallas Jameson: Tiffani and Shane McCarley:
Shelby Ray, Kennedy and Christian Phillips. 1 Great-Granddaughter,
Kinsley Jameson. One brother, David McCarley. Life Long friends
Mike Walden and Jerry Prettyman. Numerous nieces and nephews.
And his two puppies, Tucker and Webster. He was preceded in death
by his parents and one brother, Dennis McCarley. Memorial Services
will be10:00 A.M., Monday, July 16, 2012 at Bath-Naylor Funeral home
in Pittsburg with Pastor Jon Hunter officiating. Visitation will be from
9:00 A.M. until service time Monday. Condolences may be sent online

Bill Ray Ashmore, 70, died during the night of July 9, 2012 at his
home.

Bill was born in Pittsburg on July 28, 1941 to Carval R. and Ruby R.
(Bell) Ashmore.

Bill worked as an auctioneer, Pepsi Cola Bottling, Bill William’s
Chevrolet, several auction companies including JL Treadway & Richard
Larson.

He graduated from Cherokee High School with the class of 1959.

He is survived by Randy Ashmore & wife Anita of Oklahoma City,
OK, Jim Ashmore of Mulvane, KS, Michael Ashmore & wife Sharon of
Tecumseh, MI, Ray James & wife Pam of Pittsburg, Myrtle James,
Mandy, Lane & Blake of Pittsburg. One brother Jerry Ashmore and wife
Beth, one sister, Marilyn Ashmore, all of Pittsburg. Grandchildren
Mandy, Kyle, Tyler, John, Acen, Dustin, & Melissa. Great grandchildren
Mary, Heather, Zachery, Bethany, Brittany, Brooklyn, Michael & Austin.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother Ronald in 2011
and one daughter-in-law Rebecca Ashmore in 2012.

Memorial Services will be 11 am Friday, July 13, 2012 at the Bath-
Naylor Funeral Home in Pittsburg with Rev. Dalton Windsor officiating.
Family will receive friends at the funeral home from 10 am Friday until
service time. The family will also receive friends at the home 1402 N.
Grand in Pittsburg Thursday evening from 7-8 pm. E-mail condolences
