SAN ANTONIO, Texas -- Cathryn Dora Johnson, 83, passed away Oct. 14, 2006.
She was born to Ray and Ruth McCollum in Imes, Kan.
She was a San Antonio resident.
She was preced in death by her parents and husband, J.F. "Swede" Johnson.
Survivors include her sons, John E. Johnson, San Antonio; James L. Johnson, Dallas; stepson, Ronnie Johnson, Ottawa; brother A.D. McCollum, San Antonio; and two grandchildren.
ROBERT GEISLER
WAVERLY -- Robert "Bobby" Geisler, 42, Waverly, died Monday, Oct. 16, 2006, at the University of Kansas Medical Center, Kansas City, Kan. Services will be 2 p.m. Friday, at Dengel & Son Mortuary, Ottawa.
He was born Dec. 18, 1963, at Salina to Norman and Phyllis (Larson) Davis.
He was a lifelong Ottawa resident, moving to Waverly in 1998.
He graduated from Ottawa High School in 1982.
He was a member of the United States Marine Corps from June 16, 1982, to May 10, 1992, during the Persian Gulf War, "Operation Desert Storm," attaining the rank of sergeant. He was awarded the Rifle Expert Badge (2nd Award), Southwest Asia Service Medal (with two stars), Sea Service Deployment Ribbon (with four stars), Meritorious Unit Commendation (with one star), National Defense Service Medal, Good Conduct Medal (with two stars), Navy Unit Commendation, Letter of Recognition and Kuwait Liberation Medal.
He was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Memorial Post No. 5901, Ottawa.
He was employed as a shop foreman for Wheeler Lumber, Waverly.
He married
Joy Catron, June 28, 1996, at Ottawa. She survives.
Survivors also include his father, daughters, Bethany Geisler, Anna Geisler and Kristen Lehman, all of Crossville, Tenn.; stepson Jeremy Wade and his wife Krystal Stephenson, Fort Smith, Ark.; stepdaughter Jessica Wright and her husband Jason Mauzey, Topeka; stepdaughter Alicia Summers, Tulsa, Okla.; brother and sister-in-law, Kenneth and Tina Geisler, Topeka; sisters, DeAnn George, Ottawa, and LeAnn DeGregario, Denver, Colo.; sisters and brothers-in-law, Kay and Brad Berk, Concordia, and Joy and Dan Fischer, Ottawa; grandsons, Austin Wright, Cameron Wright and Rylan Stephenson; granddaughter Ashton Summers; several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews; and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his mother.
Burial will be at the Waverly Cemetery.
Friends may pay their respects from 1 p.m. Thursday until the service hour at the funeral home. The family will meet with friends from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday.

DIANE HIRSCHFELD
AUGUSTA -- Diane Hirschfeld, 54, Augusta, died Monday, Oct. 16, 2006, Mass will be noon Friday at St. James Catholic Church.
She was born Aug. 15, 1952, at Garnett to Donald and Mary Jane (Lanham) Lickteig, Richmond.
She was co-owner of Augusta Flix, a former Ursuline Nun and a case manager for Big Brothers and Big Sisters and the Salvation Army.
She married
Robert "Bob" Hirschfeld March 3, 1984. He survives.
Survivors also include her parents, sons, Kyle and his wife Julie, Haysville, Aaron, Matthew and Joseph, all of Augusta; brothers, Dennis Lickteig, Oakland, Calif., Donald John Lickteig Jr., Trenton, Mo., and Steven Lickteig, Washington, D.C.; sisters, Joan Meinhardt, Springfield, Mo., Janet Evans, Lawton, Okla., Kathy White, Lakeland, Colo., Patti Hettler, Monument, Colo., and Beth bailey, Centennial, Colo.; and grandchildren, Marissa, Jovian, Jaxon and Noah.
A rosary service will be 7 p.m., Thursday, at St. James Catholic Church.

ARTHUR LARRICK
BALDWIN CITY -- Arthur "Banty" Larrick, 89, passed away Monday, October 16, 2006, at Baldwin Health Care in Baldwin City. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 21, 2006, at Bruce Funeral Home, Gardner. Burial will follow at Edgerton Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. before the services at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Wellsville American Legion No. 194.
"Banty" was born Oct. 17, 1916, at the family farmhouse in rural Edgerton to William Fred Larrick and Letha Foland Larrick. He attended the Larrick School in Johnson County. He worked six ytears as a trackman for the railroad before joining the Army, serving from 1942-1946 with a Tc 5 grade.
"Banty" married
Nadine Sawyer March 1, 1947, in Osawatomie. They lived in Edgerton before moving to Wellsville 41 years ago. He was a farmer, retiring in 1978. At that time he enjoyed woodworking. A talented craftsman, he made cedar chests for fundraisers and won awards with furniture entered in the county fairs.
Arthur was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Ray Dennis Larrick in 2001; six brothers, Armour, Ernest, Homer, Minor, Woodrow, and Roy; and sisters, Beulah Clayton and Esther Clark. He is survived by his wife, of the home; a daughter, Arleen Schuman and husband Bruce, Wellsville; son Rex Eugene Larrick and wife Marjorie, Olathe; sister Myrtle Freeman, Lawton, Okla. and grandson, Joshua Schuman, Fort Hood, Texas.
CARL GORMLY
Carl A. Gormly, 21, Osawatomie, died Saturday, Oct. 14, 2006. Services will be 10 a.m. Saturday at McDonald Funeral Home, Beloit.
He was born June 20, 1985, at Beloit to Eugene and Bonnie Gormly.
He worked as a welder.
Survivors include his parents; brothers, Max Gormly, Beloit, and Larry Gormly, Belle Plaine; and sisters, Dawn Hannon, Beloit, Mary Lynn Gormly, Osawatomie, and Debra Gormly, Plainville.
Burial will be at Elmwood Cemetery, Beloit.
Friends may pay their respects from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

DON L. HARSH
Don L. Harsh, 79, Baldwin City, died Tuesday, Oct. 17, 2006, at the Olathe Medical Center, Olathe. Services will be 2 p.m. Saturday, at the First United Methodist Church, Ottawa.
He was born Aug. 13, 1927, at El Dorado, to Abram and Chella (Milner) Harsh.
He graduated from Belleville High School in 1946. He graduated from the Dry Cleaning School in Okmulgee, Okla.
He moved to Ottawa in 1965. He owned and operated Don's Royal Cleaners in Ottawa, Wichita and St. Joseph, Mo. In 1987 he worked for the Kansas Lottery as District Manager, retiring in 1997. He had lived in Baldwin City since 2000.
He was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Ottawa, and the Masonic Lodge in Ottawa since 1960. He coached baseball in Ottawa and later delivered Meals on Wheels.
He married
Wanda M. (McKay) Kraus on June 7, 1968, at Paola. She survives. They shared more than 38 years of marriage.
Survivors also include a son, Mark L. Harsh and his wife Jill, Olathe; step-son, Larry Kraus and his wife Sue, Shell Knob, Mo.; step-daughter, Betty Kraus, Ottawa; brother, Dean Harsh and his wife Bonnie, St. Joseph, Mo.; sister, Wilma Barnes, Gladstone, Ore.; grandchildren, Brian Harsh, Overland Park, David Kraus and his wife Celeste, Lawrence, John Kraus and his wife Vicki, Baldwin City, and Kim Nottestad, Lawrence; five great-grandchildren, Aaron and Alijah Kraus, Kaylee Nottestad, Hayden and Ryan Kraus; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Burial will be at Highland Cemetery, Ottawa, following the services.
The family will meet with friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

WINIFRED MARGARET HOLMES
COLORADO SPRINGS, COLO. -- Winifred Margaret Holmes, 96, died Tuesday, Oct. 3, 2006, in Colorado Springs, Colo.
She was born April 6, 1910, in Garnett to Benjamin and Mable Knight.
She lived in Ottawa for many years.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Harry Holmes, and seven brothers and sisters.
Survivors include daughters, Ann Jarboe, Colorado Springs, and Arlyee Bailey, Ottawa; sons, Gerald Holmes, Featherville, Idaho, and Donald Farmer, Topeka; one sister; 16 grandchildren; 27 great grandchildren and 9 great-great grandchildren.
She was cremated and inurnment will be at a later date in Garnett.
