WILFRED W. BUGNER
Wilfred W. Bugner, 84, Ottawa, died Saturday, Dec. 16, 2006, at Village Manor Nursing home, Ottawa. A funeral mass will be 10 a.m. Thursday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Ottawa.
He was born August 17, 1922, at Andale to John Bugner Sr. and Josephine (Irsik) Bugner.
He grew up in Sedgwick County. He previously lived at Ingles, Jetmore and Eureka. He moved to Franklin County in 1953.
He attended St. Joseph Catholic School, Ost.
He served in the United States Army with the 843rd Engineer Aviation Battalion during World War II from January 1943 until December 1945. He attained the rank of master sergeant. He received the EAME Theater Ribbon, four bronze Service Stars, the World War II Victory Ribbon and a Good Conduct Medal for his service in Normandy, Rhineland, Northern France and Central Europe.
He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Aerie Lodge 2700, Fraternal Order of Eagles, Ottawa Lodge 803, Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks, and Veterans of Foreign Wars Memorial Post 5901, all of Ottawa.
He worked as a self-employed plumber and owned Bugner Plumbing for more than 20 years. He retired in December 1990.
He married
Virginia Timmermeyer Jan. 21, 1947, at Wichita. She survives.
Survivors also include daughters, Linda Hunt, Ottawa, Mary Koorstad and her husband, Bob, Jacksonville, Ark., Ellen Lancaster and her husband, John, Redfield, and Jean Bell and her husband, Greg, Mesa, Ariz.; sons, James Bugner and his wife, Lisa, Fulton, Gerald Bugner and Julie Brooks, Olathe, Donald Bugner and his wife, Deb, Ottawa; sister, Mary Seiler and her husband, Sylvester, Wichita; 14 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by sisters, Beatrice Bugner and Marjorie Fisher; brothers, Leo Bugner, Robert Bugner and John Bugner Jr. and an infant brother Harold Bugner.
Burial will be at Mount Cavalry Cemetery, Ottawa, with military honors by Fort Riley Honor Guard.
Friends may pay their respects after 5 p.m. today to the service hour at Dengel and Son Mortuary, Ottawa. Family will meet with friends 7:30 p.m. Wednesday after a rosary at 7 p.m.

DORLA "DEANE" MEYERS
Dorla "Deane" Meyers, 71, formerly of Ottawa, died Thursday, Nov. 30, 2006, at Prescott Valley, Ariz. Services were 10:30 a.m. Dec. 4, 2006, at the Prescott Valley Church of the Nazarene.
She was born April 30, 1935, in Arnold, Neb., to John and Lily Troyer.
She graduated from Sioux Falls College, Sioux Falls, S.D. in 1957.
She was an elementary school teacher.
She married
Leonard L. Meyers Aug. 18, 1956, at Arnold, Neb. He survives.
Survivors also include daughters, Laurie Kasper, Prescott Valley, and Mindy Meyers, Las Vegas, Nev.; sons, Daniel Meyers, Menlo Park, Calif., and Marty Meyers, Phoenix, Ariz.; and 10 grandchildren.
Private burial was at Camp Verde.

HATTIE "MAE" BEARCE
HIAWATHA -- Hattie "Mae" Bearce, 89, of Hiawatha died Monday, Dec. 25, 2006, at the Hiawatha Community Hospital where she had been a patient since Friday.
She is survived by a daughter; Marilyn and husband Bill Meyer of Ottawa; two sons; David and wife Marie Bearce of Riverview, Michigan; and Earl and wife Judy Bearce of rural Robinson; sister; Melba and husband Ivan Wenger of Horton; a sister-in-law; Frances Bearce of Topeka; eight grandchildren, including; Shari Mae Perry and family of Ottawa; Jeff Meyer and family of Wellsville; and Dawn Carter and family of Lawrence; and 20 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were planned for 1 p.m. today at the First Presbyterian Church in Hiawatha. Pastor Roxie Sullivan will officiate. Interment will follow at the Mt. HopeCemeteryin Hiawatha.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to services at the church on Thursday.

Chad Wanatee
(August 4, 1978 - May 23, 2011)
MAYETTA – Chad Wanatee, Masowiash Waseto, 32, of Mayetta, died Monday, May 23, 2011 as the result of an automobile accident west of Mayetta.
He was born August 4, 1978, at Topeka, the son of Forrest and Barbara Potts Tims.
He was a member of the Sac & Fox Tribe, formerly known as the Meskwaki Tribe, the Prairie Band Potawatomi Nation and the Potawatomi Pentecostal Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his father died December 12, 2000, and his mother April 3, 2011.
Survivors include two brothers, John “Sam” Potts and wife Rebekah, and Willie Potts and wife Tracy, all of Mayetta; two sisters, Paula Jo Potts, Oklahoma City, and Mackenzie Wanatee, Tama, Iowa; nephews, Jesse Potts, Isiah Potts, Ian Cook, Nomkiwash Potts, Keesis Potts, Sahbi Potts, Michael Potts, Jayden Potts, Husk Keesis and other cousins and nieces.
Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday, May 26th at the Potawatomi Pentecostal Church with burial following in the church cemetery. Chad will lie in state at the Chapel Oaks Funeral Home in Hoyt where family and friends will meet from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. He will also lie in state an hour before service time at the church.
VICTOR MATTHEW LEVALLEY
Victor Matthew LeValley, 43, died Monday, Dec. 18, 2006, at Tulsa, Okla. Services will be 2 p.m. Friday at Bible Baptist Church, Ottawa.
He was born Oct. 27, 1963, at Ottawa.
He worked as a truck driver for Werner Enterprises.
Survivors include daughter, Jessica LeValley, Gardner; father, Jim LeValley, and step-mother, Edith, Ottawa; sisters, Bonnie Warner, Branson, Mo.; Desiree Prince, Tulsa, Okla.; Mary Jean Kitt and Vivian Wrentz, both of Ottawa; and brothers, John Collins, Tom Collins and Charles LeValley, all of Ottawa.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Eileen Whirlow, and brother, Jimmy LeValley.

Janet Lynn Hendrickson, 73, Ottawa, died Tuesday, Jan. 2, 2007, at the University of Kansas Hospital, Kansas City.

THOMAS "TOM" C. SEYLER
Thomas "Tom" C. Seyler, 93, Ottawa, died Tuesday, June 5, 2007, at Lawrence Memorial Hospital, Lawrence. Graveside services will be 1 p.m. Saturday at Highland Cemetery, Ottawa.
He was born May 23, 1914, at LeLoup to Edward and Jessie (Hobbs) Seyler.
He grew up and attended schools in Ottawa.
He enjoyed drinking coffee with his friends in Wellsville and attending area auctions. His favorite activity was his weekly Sunday home-cooked meal with his family.
He was a member of the board of directors of the Ottawa Coop. He also was a school board member of Spring Creek School.
He worked as a farmer and rancher in the LeLoup area. He raised Angus cattle and grain stocks. He also worked for the Sante Fe Railroad and at the Kansas Army Ammunition Plant, Parsons.
He married
Helen Wadkins Sept. 18, 1937, at Harrisonville, Mo. They shared more than 69 years of marriage. She survives.
Survivors also include sons, Jerry Seyler, Lyndon, and Edward Seyler, and his wife, Merna, Ottawa; a daughter, Gloria Fischer, Belton, Mo.; 11 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Edward Seyler; and sisters, Dessa Brindle, Lottie Seyler and Lena Guyett.
Family will meet with friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday at the Lamb-Roberts Funeral Home, Ottawa.
