Wichita, Kansas - Burnett, Coy Lynn, 57, left this earthly world when Jesus took his hand and led him home on December 14, 2008. Coy was retired from Boeing Aircraft Co. where he had been employed for 30 years. He is survived by his wife Doris of Wichita, KS; father Sidney Burnett of Wichita, KS; son Eric (Kassie) Burnett of Park City, KS; daughter Angie (Aron) Haynes; step-daughters Tammie (Brandon) Teeter and Pam (Michael) Hamilton, all of Wichita, KS; brothers Mack (Judy) Burnett, Loy (Cheryl) Burnett, all of Wichita, KS; sisters Claudia Vaughn of Belton, MO, Patsy (Mike) Mason of Oklahoma City, OK; 5 grandchildren and expecting 1 more; 6 step- grandchildren and 2 step-great granddaughters; several cousins, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his mother Juanita Burnett. Visitation held Thursday December 18, 2008 from 4-8 p.m., with Funeral services held Friday, December 19th, 2008 at 11:00 a.m., both at Lakeview Funeral Home 12100 E. 13th St.

Wichita, Kansas - Bishop, Douglas (Doug) L., 81, passed away December 28, 2008. Retired plumber, business owner, and a Mason. Doug is survived by his companion, Eloise Kennedy of Wichita, KS; children Doug (Diane) Bishop of Phoenix, AZ, Jerry (Helen) Bishop of Pretty Prairie, KS, Ray (Diane) Trail of Wichita, KS; sister Grace Anderson of Eaton, OH; grandchildren Corey (Kay) Bishop of Pretty Prairie, KS, Jeremy (Charlie) Bishop of Wichita, KS, Michelle Bishop of Phoenix, AZ; and 13 great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by parents, 2 brothers, 1 sister and 1 granddaughter. Memorial Service, Saturday, January 17, 2009, 3:00 p.m. at First United Methodist Church. In lieu of flowers a Memorial has been established with the Arthritis Foundation.

Wichita, Kansas - Abbott, Eugene R., 86, retired precision machinist for Beech and American Airlines passed away Friday evening January 23, 2009. Was born in Smith Center, KS to Charlie R. and Myrtle (Bell) Abbott on October 17th, 1922. Eugene served his country in the Navy during WWII. He enjoyed bowling in leagues for many years, gardening, playing the guitar and banjo and yodeling. Eugene donated over ten gallons of blood over 30 years of his life to the American Red Cross. After leaving the Navy he attended Mortuary College, and worked in the funeral industry for a few years. Later he would become a machinist for Beech Aircraft as a precision grinder, then took a job with American Airlines and moved to Tulsa, OK until he retired. He enjoyed traveling the U.S. and Canada with his wife. He moved to Haysville, KS in 2002. Eugene is preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife of 66 years Alice, son; Larry Eugene Abbott of Temecula, CA, daughters; Klyda K. (Kress) Fall of Haysville, KS, and Karla Jean (Donald) German of North Richland Hills, TX. Grandchildren; Shane, Shannon, Andrew and Kayla, great-grandchildren; Loren, Travis, Jason, Ashley, Addison, and Alexandra, great-great-grandchild; Payton. Visitation is from 4 to 6 P.M. Tues. Wichita, Kansas - McGee, Kenneth “Ken” E., 67, co-owner of Rusty’s Outdoor Sports and Operations Manager of David’s, passed away January 24, 2009 with his family at his side. Ken is preceded in death by his parents Elbert W. and Wilma Merita (Nixon) McGee and sister in-law; Jessie McGee. He is survived by his wife Floydine, daughters; Kim (Mike) Clift of El Dorado, KS, Michelle Pressley of Andover, KS, brother; Karell McGee of Fredonia, KS, sisters; Merita (Don) Reed of Wichita, KS, and Virginia (Michael) Bridges of Grove, OK, grandchildren; Taylor, Danyiele, Dakota, and Hunter Clift, also Lauren, and Christian Pressley, great-grandchildren; Easton, Weston and Zach Clift. Ken loved the outdoors. He was the most caring person and never knew a stranger. Above all, Ken loved his wife and family and he will be missed greatly by all who knew him. Park City, Kansas - Cassidy, Marietta Mae., 88, went to meet her Lord and Savior, Monday evening January 12, 2009 with her family at her side. She was born April 4, 1920 to Oran J. and Laura (Severtson) Middleswart in McPherson, Kansas where she was raised. She later attended WSU, graduating with a Bachelors Degree in History. She married
Eugene Cassidy in September of 1941, they were happily married
for 55 years until Eugene’s death in 1996. Marietta worked at Boeing with Eugene during the Great Depression, working the late shift they would go to a café for breakfast every night when they got off of work. They would later build their own home together and were members of the Shocker Club, and loved to Ballroom dance together. She was an avid reader, as well as Christian woman, serving as a Deaconess in her church. She loved her family, and was always there for them. She is survived by her daughter; Karen Davisson, grandson; Morgan Koehn, great-grandchildren Shelby Koehn and Kelsey Koehn all of Park City, Kansas. Visitation will be Friday January 16, 2009 at 1 P.M. with the Funeral Service beginning at 2 P.M. In lieu of flowers a Memorial has been established with Hospice Care of Kansas 750 N. He is preceded in death by his parents; Tom and Mary Lucinda (Kennedy) Dotson, two brothers and seven sisters. He is survived by his loving wife of 51 years; Betty of Wichita, KS, daughters; Cindy (Gene) Slinkard of Moline, KS, Tammy (Paul) Mynatt of Augusta, KS, Georgia (Kevin) Biggs of Rose Hill, KS, son; Billy Dotson of El Dorado, KS, brother; Charlie (Pauline) of Tulsa, OK, grandchildren; Justin, Shaunda, Kristi, Jeremy, Joshua, Stefanie, Jason, Lyle, Dani, and Jennifer, and 15 great-grandchildren. Wally loved his family, loved to garden, selling the harvest directly from his house, he loved to play as much as he loved to work.
