Roger Allen Cole

Andover, Kansas - Cole, Roger Allen, 70, passed away September 15, 2011. He was born May 9, 1941 to Chester Allen Arthur and Genevieve Ann (Mans) Cole in Wichita, KS. While serving his country in the Navy, he spent time in the ocean while atomic weapons were being tested. He later developed and survived lung cancer. He began his civilian career at Cessna and worked his way up to a supervising position. He worked for Vulcan Chemical until 2003 when he retired. He was a member of American Legion Post 406 in Andover. He was preceded in death by his parents. Roger is survived by his wife, Jane Cole; daughter, Denise (Jarrett) McRee; grandchildren, Cole Jarrett McRee and Caitlin Grace McRee; and sisters, Kathleen Farney and Penelope (Robert) Patterson. Visitation: Sunday, 2 - 5 pm. Funeral: 10 am, Monday, both at Lakeview Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.

Andover, Kansas - Boone, Grace "Helen", 79, passed away September 12, 2011. She was a member of Andover United Methodist Church and the Esther Circle Group. Helen retired from the Andover School District. During her career there, she was Andover's Kansas Master Teacher of the Year. She was an officer in the Butler County Association of Retired School Personnel (BCARSP). She was preceded in death by 4 brothers and a granddaughter, Corine Jones. Helen is survived by her husband, Forest Boone; children, Glenda (Brent) Jones, Jim Boone, and Beth Boone; brothers, Oscar Edwards and Jim Baskins; and grandsons, Jordan Jones and Tristan Jones. (Carla) Shearer; granddaughter, Kaycie Shearer; and grandson, John R.
