Carl Edmond Russell, 32, Garnett, died Monday, Oct. 1, 2007, at Menorah Medical Center, Overland Park. Services will be 1 p.m. Saturday at Feuerborn Family Funeral Service, Garnett.
He was born April 24, 1975, at Des Moines, Iowa, to Virgil Russell and April (Findley) Baasch.
He graduated from Olathe North High School.
He worked as a carpenter.
He married
Krystal Wilson Oct. 10, 2003, at Ottawa. She survives.
Survivors also include a son, Wesley Russell, of the home; a daughter, Madison Russell, of the home; a brother, Jeremiah Russell, Des Moines, Iowa; a sister, Kelly Russell, Overland Park; a grandmother, Evelyn Russell, Des Moines, Iowa; his mother, Ottawa; his father, Gardner; a niece and two nephews.
Burial will be at the Richmond Cemetery.
Family will meet with friends after the services at the Richmond Community Center.

JOHN HOWARD LOVE
John Howard Love, 75, Princeton, died Saturday, Oct. 6, 2007. Services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at Dengel & Son Mortuary, Ottawa.
Friends may pay their respects from 10 a.m. Tuesday to the service hour at Dengel & Son Mortuary, Ottawa. Family will meet with friends from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday.

RAMONA M. MARTINEZ
Ramona M. Martinez, 91, Lawrence, died Sunday, Sept. 30, 2007, at Lawrence Memorial Hospital. A mass of Christian burial will be 10 a.m. Thursday at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, Lawrence.
She was born Dec. 15, 1915, at El Paso, Texas, to Leonardo and Maria (Lerma) Mata.
She was a homemaker.
She married
Andres Martinez Sept. 5, 1933, at Ottawa. He preceded her in death.
Survivors include daughters, Mary Knox, Anchorage, Alaska, Ruth Romero, Lawrence, and Susie Bermudez, Lawrence; sons, Andrew Martinez, Lawrence, Frank Martinez, Spring Hill, and Johnny Martinez, Michigan City, Mich.; a stepdaughter, Cecilia Reyes, Garnett: a stepbrother, Frank Mata, Omaha, Neb.; 27 grandchildren, 56 great-grandchildren, and a great-great-grandchild.
She also was preceded in death by a stepson, Santiago Martinez; and a stepdaughter, Lucia Godinez.
Burial will be at Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
The family will meet with friends from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday at Warren-McElwain Mortuary, Lawrence. A rosary will be recited at 7 p.m.
DIMPLE ODELIA ECKMAN
Dimple Odelia (Tucker) Eckman, 102, formerly of Baldwin City, died Friday, Sept. 28, 2007, at Overland Park.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Church of Christ in Baldwin City. Interment will follow at the OakwoodCemeteryin Baldwin. LELA ROSE BROCK
OSAGE CITY -- Lela Rose Brock, 93, died Thursday, Oct. 4, 2007, at a Topeka hospital.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Melvern United Methodist Church.
She was born Dec. 2, 1913, to James and Edith (Mears) Cox south of Waverly. After high school, she attended Emporia Teachers College and taught a few years.
She married
Floyd Brock May 15, 1934, in Burlington. He survives.
They owned and operated the Richmond Locker, and she worked in dietetics for the Richmond and Marysville nursing homes and was a cook for the Marysville schools.
She was a member of the Melvern United Methodist Church.
Survivors also include three sons, James Brock, Lenexa, Jerry Brock and wife, Marie, Richmond, and Gary Brock and wife, Judy, Lenexa; daughter Mary Morrow and husband, Richard, Ottawa; 21 grandchildren, 41 great-grandchildren and eight great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son, Eugene Brock; daughters, Florine Kreie and Rosie Mullinax; three brothers, Kenneth, Elroy and Claude Cox; sister, Leona Dejarnett; one grandchild and two great-grandchildren.
Visitors may pay their respects 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday at Feltner Funeral Home, Lyndon, where the family will receive visitors 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday. Burial will be at the Melvern Cemetery.

MARILYN (NEELY) PREWITT
Marilyn (Neely) Prewitt passed away Sept. 22, 2007, at Redlands Community Hospital, Redlands, CA.
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Marita and Tom Rutledge of Mt. Home Village, CA, her sister, Gloria Fawl, Overland Park, KS, Tom's son and daughter; and several nieces and nephews along with other family. She is preceded in death by her husband Robert, who passed away Nov. 20, 2006, and her son, Robert III, who passed away in 1995.
Marilyn was born on Jan. 21, 1926, to Edward James and Mabel (Hale) Neely, in Pomona, KS. She graduated from Pomona High School as valedictorian and attended Washburn University and the University of Kansas. She married
Robert H. Prewitt Jr. in 1944. Upon his discharge from the U.S. Air Force the following year, the couple resided in Lawrence, KS. Following Robert's graduation from the University of Kansas the couple lived in New Mexico, Wyoming, Texas, and Colorado and worked together in oil and gas business eventually settling in Lee's Summit, MO, in 1990.

LOIS M. GRIFFIN
Lois M. Griffin, 75, Pomona, died Tuesday, Sept. 25, 2007, at Brandon Woods Retirement Community, Lawrence. Services will be 10 a.m. Monday at Dengel & Son Mortuary, Ottawa.
She was born Jan. 26, 1932, at Garnett to James and Bessie (Frost) Spring.
She was a lifelong Franklin County resident and a resident of Pomona for 48 years.
She worked as a seamstress about 30 years at H.D. Lee, Ottawa, until the plant closed. She then worked at King Radio for five years until she retired in 1994.
She married
Richard T. Griffin June 9, 1949, at Williamsburg. He preceded her in death Dec. 4, 2006.
Survivors include daughters, Cindy Stevenson, and her husband, Fred, Rantoul, Debbie Griffin, Pomona, Carolyn Snethen, and her husband, Ron, Ottawa, and Penny Thompson, and her husband, Ed, Pomona; a sister, Mary Binderman, Coronado, Calif.; grandchildren, Christie Bowman-Ross, and her husband, Brian, Spring Hill, Tony Snethen, and his wife, Rachelle, Olathe, Scott Snethen, and his wife, Beth, Pomona, Jami Thompson-Story, and her husband, David, Ottawa, and Brian Thompson, Pomona; and great-grandchildren, Grace Kathryn Snethen and Braylon Trey Snethen.
She also was preceded in death by brothers, Harold Spring, Charlie Spring and Henry Spring; and sisters, Margaret Johnson, Ann Adams, Mildred Burns, Alice Courtney and Jerry Horne.
Burial will be at Woodlawn Cemetery, Pomona.
Friends may pay their respects from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and from 1 p.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday at Dengel & Son Mortuary, Ottawa. Family will meet with friends from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday.
