MAKATO - Edward R. Beck, 47, died Jan. 20, 2000, at his home.

Alice F. Ford
NEWTON - Alice F. Ford, 81, died Jan. 19, 2000, at Via Christi Regional Medical Center, St. Francis Campus, Wichita.
She was born Dec. 20, 1918, at Newton, the daughter of John and Johanna Pauline Sauerwein Williams. A lifetime Newton resident, she was an elementary and high school teacher, teaching in the Newton area for more than 35 years and retiring in 1980.
She belonged to First Baptist Church, the Thursday Morning Coffee Club and was a former Little League Coach.
On Aug. 1, 1945, she married
Richard C. "Sam" Ford at Newton. He died Nov. 15, 1998.
Survivors include: two sons, James R., Wichita, and John C., Newton; two daughters, Phyllis Gerstberger, Tularosa, N.M., and Jodi Ford, East Dennis, Mass.; eight grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Broadway-Colonial Funeral Home Chapel, Newton, with the Rev. Alden Dick presiding. Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday and 1 to 9 p.m. Sunday, both at the funeral home, Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery, Newton.
Memorials may be sent to the American Heart Association, in care of the funeral home.
Joseph Edward Henning
RANSOM - Joseph Edward Henning, 42, died Jan. 20, 2000, at his home of natural causes.
He was born July 21, 1957, at Ransom, the son of Julius and Melva Rose Weber Henning. A lifetime Ransom resident, he was a farm laborer.
He belonged to St. Aloysius Church, Ransom.
On June 3, 1978, he married
Kathy Snodgrass at Ransom. He then married
Barbara Ogg on Nov. 23, 1982, at Ness City.
Survivors include: two sons, Anthony, Hays, and Jared, Kingman; his parents, Ransom; three brothers, Kenneth, Hays, Terry, Ness City, and James "Jimmy, " Kingman; and two sisters, Donna Bollig and Carol Nemechek, both of WaKeeney.
Parish vigil will be at 7 p.m. today at St. Aloysius Church, Ransom. Funeral Mass will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the church, with Father Gregory LeBlanc presiding. Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. today at Fitzgerald Funeral Home, Ness City, and from 5 to 9 p.m. today at the church. Burial will be in Ransom Cemetery.
Kenneth L. Peck
DENVER - Kenneth L. Peck, 45, formerly of Oakley, died Jan. 16, 2000, in Denver as the result of injuries sustained in an auto accident.
Funeral arrangements are pending and will be announced by Kennedy-Koster Funeral Home, Oakley.
Clara Myrtle Whittle
ST. JOHN - Clara Myrtle Whittle, 78, died Jan. 19, 2000, at Friendship Manor in Pratt.
She was born Jun 16, 1921, at Seward, the daughter of John and Emma DeBusk. A resident of Pratt for two years, moving from Great Bend, she had formerly lived in California and worked for Douglas Aircraft during World War II.
She married
Dwight Whittle. He preceded her in death.
Survivors include: a sister, Emma Lee Snyder of Pratt; and numerous nephews and nieces.
She was preceded in death by six brothers, Aaron, Louie, John, William Lee, Oliver and Ira DeBusk, and three sisters, Anna Arnold, Ellen Smirle, and Leonanie Hartenbower.
Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in Eden Valley Cemetery, north St. John, with Terry Sallee presiding. There will be no visitation.

Elsie L. Small
WILSON - Elsie L. Small, 96, died Jan. 19, 2000, at Wilson Nursing Center.
She was born Mar. 11, 1903, at Wilson, the daughter of Isaac W. and Olive Bonnewitz Tobin. A lifetime resident of Wilson, she was a homemaker and variety store clerk.
She was a member of Wilson United Methodist Church, and the Gleaners (UMW) of Wilson.
On Sept. 20, 1928, she married
Harry Small at Wilson. He preceded her in death.
She is survived by a grandson.
Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Foster Mortuary Chapel, Wilson, with the Rev. Tim Harlan presiding. Friends may call from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. today and from 8 a.m. to service time Saturday at the mortuary. Burial will be in Wilson City Cemetery.

Anna Patricia Glaze
CANTON, Ga. - Anna Patricia Glaze, 77, died Jan. 18, 2000, at Canton, Ga.
She was born June 15, 1922, at Saskatchewan, Canada, the daughter of William D. and Sarah Drynes Dykstra. She was a school cook and restaurant waitress.
In 1936, she married
Jack Glaze at Dodge City. He died Dec. 11, 1990.
Survivors include: four sons, Kenneth, Dawsonville, Ga., Thomas, Canton, Ga., Timothy, Talking Rock, Ga., and Todd Allan, Jasper, Ga.; two daughters, Linda Atkinson, Doraville, Ga., and Judy Graham, Canton, Ga.; 27 grandchildren; 50 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.
Graveside service will be at 11 a.m. Monday in Minneola Cemetery, with Pastors Jay Thompson and Paul Hindman presiding.
Minnis Mortuary, Minneola, is in charge of arrangements.
Clint Alan Reed Jr.
WICHITA - Clint Alan Reed Jr., infant son of Lori Reed, died Jan. 19, 2000.
Survivors include: his mother; a brother, Benjamin; a sister, Mackenzie; grandparents, Louise Schroeder, Kechi, Gary and Rosemary Reed and Butch and Deana Pelzl, all of Medicine Lodge; and great-grandparents, Dean and Ruth McLemore, Medicine Lodge, and Genevieve Verlin, Neosho Rapids.
He was preceded in death by his father, Clint Alan Reed Sr.
Funeral will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at the Downing & Lahey Mortuary East Chapel, Wichita.
