Elizabeth N. Paulson Regier
NEWTON - Elizabeth N. Paulson Regier, 78, at Feb. 9, 2000, Wesley Medical Center, Wichita.
She was born Sept. 27, 1921, at Newton, the daughter of Fred Thomas and Zola Mae Crabtree Noland. She was employed by USD 206 Transportation for more than 30 years.
She belonged to First United Presbyterian Church, Newton, where she was an elder and deacon, the Remington Area Historical Society, and the Eastern Star.
On April 10, 1941, she married
Chalmer Paulson. He died Aug. 3, 1956. On Dec. 26, 1962, she married
Phillip J. Regier. He died in June 1993.
Survivors include: a son, Chalmer J. "Jim" Paulson, Newton; a daughter, Mary Ann Ranschau Gantvoort, Clear Lake, S.D.; three stepsons, Don Regier, Newton, John Regier, Hesston, and Jerry Regier, Nashville, Tenn.; a stepdaughter, Carol Fiedler, Newton; a half-sister, Louise Lorraine French, Troy, Mich.; six grandchildren; 12 step grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and 12 step-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Geneva Anduss; and a stepbrother, Floyd Louia.
Funeral will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at First United Presbyterian Church, Newton, with the Rev. James Anderson presiding. Friends may from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. today at Broadway Colonial Funeral Home, Newton. Burial will be in Sunset Lawns Cemetery, El Dorado.

Wade V. Manlove
BELPRE - Wade V. Manlove, 80, died Feb. 7, 2000, at Los Angeles.
He was born Jan. 17, 1920, at Wagon Mound, N.M., the son of Charles and Verna Manlove. He attended school in Pawnee County and graduated from high school in California. A longtime Belpre area resident, he was engaged in farming and raising livestock.
He belonged to Belpre United Methodist Church and served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II. He was a technical squadron inspector, and later became a pilot. He served on the city council, was a member of the Kiwanis Club, Belpre, and the American Legion, Pawnee Rock.
On Nov. 2, 1941, he married
Mabel M. Voran at Belpre. She preceded him in death.
Survivors include: a son, Joe, Belpre; a daughter, Beverly Voran, Los Angeles; a sister, Ethel Gregory, Tampa, Fla.; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Debbie; two brothers Charles and Beverly; and a sister, Sara.
Memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Monday, Feb. 21, at United Methodist Church, Belpre, with Pastor William Brigden presiding. Inurnment will be in Belpre Cemetery.
Cremation was arranged through Miller-Mies Mortuary, Downey, Calif.

Elizabeth Lohrenz
NEWTON - Elizabeth Lohrenz, 86, died Feb. 9, 2000, at Friendly Acres Retirement Community, Newton.
She was born Feb. 1, 1914, near Beatrice, Neb., the daughter of Henry A. and Helene Penner Claassen. She attended Gage County, Neb., country schools, Beatrice High School, Peru State Teacher College, and received a bachelor's degree from Bethel College, North Newton. She was a school teacher in rural Nebraska schools and a third-grade teacher at Chariton schools from 1966 to 1980.
She belonged to Bethel College Mennonite Church, North Newton, and served with the Mennonite Central Committee Project in Ypsilanti, Mich., in 1945 and a mission in Paraguay, South America, for two years resettling war refugees.
On June 16, 1946, she married
Cornelius P. "C.P." Lohrenz at Beatrice, Neb. He survives.
Other survivors include: two sons, Paul, Silverthorne, Colo., and Tom, Wichita; a daughter, Ruth Lohrenz, Quincy, Ill.; and eight grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son, William.
Memorial service will be at 2:30 p.m. Sunday at Bethel College Mennonite Church, North Newton, with the Rev. Norma Johnson presiding. There will be no visitation.

Roy E. Smith
McPHERSON - Roy E. Smith, 99, died Feb. 10, 2000, at the Cedars, McPherson.
He was born Nov. 19, 1900, at Eagle Bend, Minn., the son of Edmund Arthur and Lora Blanche Stanfield Smith. A McPherson resident since 1980, formerly of Minneapolis, he was a retired dental technician.
He belonged to Free Methodist Church, McPherson, and served in the National Guard.
On May 29, 1922, he married
Lora Alma Willey at Minneapolis. She died Nov. 10, 1992.
Survivors include: a son, Dale Roy, Minneapolis; two daughters, Dorothy Lora Wickler and Betty Lou Ivers, both of McPherson; 14 grandchildren; and 36 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Carol Ruth Cromwell; and a brother, David Paul.
Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Free Methodist Church, McPherson, with the Revs. Mike Hambley and Tom Mayse presiding. Friends may call from 3 to 8 p.m. today at the church, with the family present from 6 to 8 p.m. Burial will be in McPherson Cemetery.

Esther E. Watson
LEOTI - Esther E. Watson, 86, died Feb. 9, 2000, at Wichita County Hospital, Leoti.
She was born May 9, 1913, at Americus, the daughter of Henry O. and Lou D. Query Hysom. She was a homemaker and waitress for many years in the Rocky Ford and Fowler, Colo., areas.
She belonged to First Baptist Church, Rocky Ford, Colo., and the Atkinson Senior Citizens Center, Leoti.
On Aug. 15, 1931, she married
Harold James Watson at Colorado Springs, Colo. He died in November 1987.
Survivors include: a daughter, Donna McKinney, Leoti; four grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son, William Lee "Bill"; four brothers; and five sisters.
Funeral will be at 9 a.m. CST Saturday at First Baptist Church, Leoti, with the Rev. Rick Woolard presiding. Graveside service will be at 1 p.m. MST Saturday in Fowler Cemetery, Fowler, Colo. Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. today at Price & Sons Funeral Home, Leoti.

Raymond H. Morse
BURKBURNETT, Texas - Raymond H. Morse, 86, died Feb. 9, 2000, at Burkburnett.
He was born June 11, 1913, at Galva. A Burkburnett resident since 1965, he was a retired carpenter for Civil Service at Sheppard Air Force Base.
He belonged to First Christian Church, Burkburnett, was a 50 year Masonic Lodge member, and past commander of the American Legion. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II.
On May 24, 1936, he married
Beulah Nelson. She survives.
Other survivors include: a son, Douglas, Hutchinson; a daughter, Gayle Hallgarth, Burkburnett; a brother, Perry, McPherson; a sister, Maurine McGuire, Colorado Springs, Colo.; six grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
Memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at First Christian Church, Burkburnett, with the Rev. Judy Brock presiding. Burial will be at 2 p.m. Monday in Empire Cemetery, Galva.
