Charles Jacob Franklin Rahm
LAKIN - Charles Jacob Franklin Rahm, 82, died Jan. 7, 2000, at High Plains Retirement Village, Lakin.
He was born June 30, 1917, at Enid, Okla., the son of Jacob and Hazel Robinson Rahm. He graduated from high school at Enid in 1936. He attended college at Okmulgee, Okla. A Lakin resident, formerly of Kremlin, Okla., and Liberal, he worked for the Southwestern Daily Times, Liberal, retiring in 1989.
He belonged to First United Methodist Church, Kremlin, and was later a member of First United Methodist Church, Enid. He served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II.
On Sept. 18, 1942, he married
Mary Bodenhamer at El Reno, Okla. She survives.
Other survivors include: a daughter, Charla Grauberger, Deerfield; a brother, Henry "Hank, " Enid; and two granddaughters.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Daniel.
Funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at United Methodist Church, Deerfield, with the Rev. Warren Hett presiding. Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. today at Garnand Funeral Home, Lakin. Burial will be in Deerfield Cemetery.

Waneta Voilin Ross
ASHLAND - Waneta Voilin Ross, 86, died Jan. 7, 2000, at Minneola District Hospital.
She was born May 22, 1913, in Comanche County, Texas, the daughter of George Violin and Elsie Reeves Brazell. An Ashland resident for four years, she was a homemaker.
She belonged to the Pentecostal Church, McLoud, Okla., and the women's group of the church.
On Nov. 18, 1931, she married
Joseph Clifford Ross at Desdemona, Texas. He died Dec. 25, 1978.
Survivors include: a son, Joe, Shawnee, Okla.; two daughters, Dixie Davis, Chehalis, Wash., and Wanda Whitfield, Ashland; three brothers, George and Ray Brazell, both of Desdemona, and Donald, Stephenville, Texas; a sister, Quandola Smith, Weatherford, Texas; 11 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a brother and two sisters.
Graveside service will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday in Resthaven Cemetery, Oklahoma City. Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. today and 9 a.m. to noon Monday at Myatt Funeral Home, Ashland.
Memorials may be sent to a charity of the donor's choice in care of the funeral home.
Jack S. `Coach' Kincheloe
WICHITA - Jack S. "Coach" Kincheloe, 72, died Jan. 7, 2000, at his home.
A longtime Wichita resident, formerly of Cunningham and Pratt, he was a retired USD 259 teacher and coach at Wichita, owned Kincheloe Implement Co., Pratt, and was a Small Business Administration farm-loan collector.
In 1948, he married
Barbara A. Clark. She died in August 1974. On April 15, 1976, he married
Vera Loger Walton. She survives.
Other survivors include: three sons, Lance, Oakdale, Minn., Clark, Aurora, Colo., and Roderic, Wichita; three daughters, Victoria Steadman and Jennifer Moss, both of Eldon, Mo., and Kathryn Moss, Lake Ozark, Mo.; two stepsons, Kelly and Rick Walton, both of Wichita; a brother, Luther Azbill, Snyder, Texas; and 15 grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two grandchildren.
Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at West Heights United Methodist Church, Wichita. Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday at Webb Mortuary, Clearwater. Burial will be in Resthaven Cemetery, Wichita.

Nancy L. Mills
LAWRENCE - Nancy L. Mills, 64, died Jan. 7, 2000, at Lawrence Memorial Hospital.
She was born March 27, 1935, at Hutchinson, the daughter of Marvin C. and Alta L. Shankel Aschman. She graduated from Nickerson High School. A Lawrence resident since 1990, formerly of Sylvia, Lewis, Fort Scott and Phoenix, she was a homemaker.
She belonged to First United Methodist Church.
On July 1, 1954, she married
Boyd L. Mills at Nickerson. He survives.
Other survivors include: three sons, Terry L., Joplin, Mo., Brian R., Lawrence, and Stephen E., Newport Beach, Calif.; a brother, Charles F. Aschman, Mobile, Ala.; three sisters, Mary Jane Stubby, Lyons, Sue Dunworth, Leavenworth, and Connie Powell, Hutchinson; and five grandchildren.
Memorial service will be at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at Rumsey-Yost Funeral Home, Lawrence. Private inurnment will be in Oak Hill Cemetery.

Bess Chapple
HESSTON - Bess Chapple, 104, died Jan. 8, 2000, at Schowalter Villa, Hesston.
She was born Sept. 18, 1895, at Halstead, the daughter of Henry George and Martha M. Phillips Chapple. She graduated from Halstead High School in 1914 and from Wichita Business College in 1926. A longtime Halstead area resident, she taught in Rice County at Harmony School and at McClain, and for five years at Goodland. She worked for the Bitting Wholesale Jewelry Co. for five years.
She belonged to the old Zion EUB Church, near Halstead.
Survivors include: a nephew, Leo Young, Halstead; and a niece, Rena Honn, Arkansas City.
She was preceded in death by two sisters, Edith Young and Edna Chapple.
Graveside service will be at 2 p.m. Monday in Halstead Cemetery, with the Rev. C. Kent Rogers presiding. Friends may call from 1 to 9 p.m. today and from 9 to 11:30 a.m. Monday at Petersen Funeral Home, Newton.

Verl Dean Mantzke
HUGOTON - Verl Dean Mantzke, 72, died Jan. 8, 2000, at Southwest Medical Center, Liberal.
He was born June 1, 1927, in rural Stevens County, the son of Frank and Mollie M. Nichols Mantzke. A lifetime Hugoton resident, he was a farmer and school-bus driver for Hugoton schools.
He belonged to First Christian Church, Hugoton.
On Aug. 17, 1949, he married
Doris Lea Rich at Clayton, N.M. She survives.
Other survivors include: a son, Michael, Hugoton; a daughter, RoGlenda Coulter, Hugoton; two brothers, Frankie, Fort Smith, Ark., and Larry, Hugoton; a sister, Francine Colella, Longmont, Colo.; and six grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a son, Ricky; two sisters, Phyllis Traver and Treva Mantzke; and a grandson.
Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Assembly of God Church, Hugoton, with the Rev. Robert Bailey presiding. Burial will be in Hugoton Cemetery.
