Helen Emiline Luallen
DODGE CITY - Helen Emiline Luallen, 87, of Littleton, Colo., died Jan. 16, 2000, at Swedish Medical Center, Englewood, Colo.
She was born Dec. 20, 1912, in Barton County, the daughter of Benjamin Wesley and Rosa Millard Myers. A longtime Dodge City resident, she was a homemaker and a bookkeeper for Burke's Shoes for many years.
She belonged to First United Methodist Church and was a member of the Wednesday Bridge Club for more than 40 years, both at Dodge City.
On Dec. 21, 1935, she married
Charles E. Luallen at Dodge City. He died May 23, 1986.
Survivors include: two sons, Donald, Wichita, and Dean, Littleton; two sisters, Vera Benedict and Virginia Fugate, both of California; six grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at First United Methodist Church, Dodge City, with the Rev. Dick Robbins presiding. Friends may call from 1 to 8 p.m. today and 9 a.m. to noon Wednesday at Swaim Funeral Home, Dodge City. Burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery, Dodge City.

William Dean Seacat
DODGE CITY - William Dean Seacat, 65, died Jan. 16, 2000, at Western Plains Regional Hospital, Dodge City.
He was born Dec. 31, 1934, at Wichita, the son of William McKinley and Wilma Charlotte Newman Seacat. He graduated from Copeland High School in 1956, from Dodge City Community College in 1956, and attended Fort Hays State University. A Dodge City resident for 30 years, he was a truck driver for B.J. Manufacturing, Kindsvater Trucking Co., Roto-Mix and Wheaties Inc.
He belonged to First Methodist Church, Copeland.
In 1958, he married
Emily Soza at Billings, Mont. She survives.
Other survivors include: three sons, Derek and Travis, both of Dodge City, and Troy, Longmont, Colo.; a sister, Jeanne Luedke, Waterbury, Conn.; and three grandsons.
Vigil service will be at 7 p.m. Wednesday at Sacred Heart Cathedral, Dodge City. Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at the church, with the Revs. Ted Skalsky and Dick Robbins presiding. There will be no visitation. Burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery, Dodge City.

Debbie Dick
LIBERAL - Debbie Dick, 51, died Jan. 16, 2000, at Southwest Medical Center, Liberal.
She was born Aug. 13, 1948, at Liberal, the daughter of Paul and Betty J. Brewer Cerveniski. She graduated from Liberal High School in 1966, attended Seward County Community College and received a bachelor's degree in Business Administration from Wichita State University in 1978. A Liberal resident, she worked for Anadarko Petroleum Corp. for 10 years and later for Seward County Community College.
She belonged to First United Methodist Church, Liberal.
Survivors include: a daughter, Kim Obholz, Liberal; mother, Betty J. Pennington, Sun City, Ariz.; a brother, Gary Pennington, Liberal; and a granddaughter.
She was preceded in death by her father; and stepfather, Ralph Pennington.
Funeral will be at 11 a.m. today at Miller Mortuary Chapel, Liberal, with the Rev. Phil Shull presiding. Friends may call from 8 a.m. until service time today at the mortuary. Burial will be in Liberal Cemetery.

Betty Jean Ward
GREAT BEND - Betty Jean Ward, 73, of Great Bend, died Jan. 17, 2000, at Central Kansas Medical Center, St. Rose Campus, Great Bend.
She was born Sept. 29, 1926, at Great Bend, the daughter of Ephreum W. and Millie Rosalea Horine Ward. A Great Bend resident for 20 years, moving from Baltimore, she was a former telephone operator for Bell Atlantic, Baltimore. After retirement, she worked at Fuller Brush, Great Bend, for 10 years.
She belonged to Telephone Pioneers, and served in the WACS.
Survivors include: two brothers, Eddie W., Chase, and Larry D., Great Bend.; four sisters, Frances J. Brown, Beverly H. Partridge and Diana S. Wehling, all of Great Bend, and Marilyn G. Gilmore, Bryan, Texas.
She was preceded in death by three brothers and two sisters.
A memorial dinner for family and friends will be from noon to 4 p.m. Sunday at the Great Bend Recreation Center. Inurnment will be at a later time.

LoRee Melva Folger
AMARILLO, Texas - LoRee Melva Folger, 79, died Jan. 15, 2000, at I.H.S. Hospital, Amarillo.
She was born Jan. 6, 1921, at Hugoton, the daughter of Roy M. and Leona M. Kerns Swan. A longtime Hugoton resident, moving to Amarillo more than a year ago and formerly of Sun Lakes, Ariz., and Pharr, Texas, she was a former homemaker and business bookkeeper for Broadus Chevrolet, Coulter Implement, and Kramer Nordling.
She belonged to the Christian Church, Amarillo, First Christian Church, Hugoton, and the Bowling Association.
Survivors include: a daughter, Voncele Bowen, Ulysses; two sisters, Maxine Dewey, Borger, Texas, and Luvada Coulter, Pharr; two grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.
Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Paul's Funeral Home Memorial Chapel, Hugoton, with the Rev. Robert Bailey presiding. Burial will be in Hugoton Cemetery.

Jose Daniel Flores
GARDEN CITY - Jose Daniel Flores, age two months, died Jan. 15, 2000, at Wesley Medical Center, Wichita.
He was born Nov. 13, 1999, at Garden City, the son of Sally Flores. She survives, in Garden City.
Other survivors include: grandparents, Doris Arispe, Garden City, Pedro Flores, El Paso, Texas, and Andres Briseno, Garden City; and a great-grandmother, Julia Arispe, El Paso.
Graveside service will be at 1 p.m. today in Valley View Cemetery, Garden City, with Father James E. Baker presiding. Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. today at Garnand Funeral Home, Garden City.

Dr. Harold D. Burkholder
HESSTON - Dr. Harold D. Burkholder, 86, formerly of Elbing, died Jan. 15, 2000, at Via Christi Regional Medical Center, St. Francis Campus, Wichita.
He was born Aug. 24, 1913, at Beaverdam, Ohio, the son of John and Aldine Neuschwander Burkholder. He graduated from Moody Bible Institute, Chicago, Reformed Episcopal Seminary, Philadelphia, and Pepperdine University, Los Angeles. He pastored at churches in Pennsylvania, California, Oregon, Nebraska, Ohio and Kansas.
Survivors include: his wife, Lola Hoeke Burkholder; two sons, including John, Wichita; four daughters, including, Cindy Wiens, Elbing, and Barbara Busenitz, Benton; 20 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
Funeral will be at 1:30 p.m. Friday at Berean Academy, Elbing, with burial in Emmaus Cemetery, Whitewater.
