GREENSBURG - Sherla Leann Fark, 56, died Feb. 8, 2000, at Via Christi Regional Medical Center, St. Francis Campus, Wichita.
She was born June 27, 1943, at Greensburg, the daughter of Henry W. and Georgia Stewart Todd. She graduated from Greensburg High School in 1961. She lived in Grove, Okla., and Noel, Mo., before moving back to Greensburg in 1996. She was a ranch wife, waitress and cook in the school and hospital.
She belonged to First Christian Church and Triangle Rodeo Club, both of Greensburg.
On Sept. 1, 1972, she married
Phil Fark. He survives.
Other survivors include: a son, James Lee Wedel, Hardtner; a daughter, Patty Ann Stout, Grove, Okla.; two brothers, Arthur J., Greensburg, and Henry Dale, Allen; a sister, Marcile Massey, Olathe; and two grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Billy.
Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Friday at First United Methodist Church, Greensburg, with the Revs. Keith Dellenbach and Jeff Anderson presiding. Friends may call from 4 to 9 p.m. today at Fleener Funeral Home, Greensburg. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery, Greensburg.

The Rev. Merton L. Lundquist
OMAHA, Neb. - The Rev. Merton L. Lundquist, died Jan. 31, 2000, at Omaha.
He was born May 29, 1914, at Lindsborg.
Survivors include: his wife, Arda; four sons, Verne, Steamboat Springs, Colo., David, Mexico, Dan, Georgetown, Texas, and Tom, Plano, Texas; a daughter, Sharon Zinn, Lincoln, Neb.; two brothers, Orvin and Clinton, both of Lindsborg; a sister, Leona Cahoon, Augusta; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Memorial service was Feb. 4, at Rejoice Lutheran Church, Omaha. Burial was in Evergreen Memorial Park, Omaha.

Selma L. Chlumsky
McPHERSON - Selma L. Chlumsky, 91, died Feb. 9, 2000, at Infinia Healthcare, McPherson.
She was born Sept. 2, 1908, at Bison, the daughter of John C. and Mary Appel Schwindt. A resident of McPherson since 1950, formerly of Buhler and Hutchinson, she was a saleswoman for Jarold's Shop and J.C. Penney Co. Inc., of McPherson and worked for Litwin's and Gordon's in Hutchinson.
On April 20, 1930, she married
Ralph C. Chlumsky at Great Bend. He died May 28, 1981.
Survivors include: a son, Donald, McPherson; a daughter, Marie Rohr, Overland Park; a sister, Laura Button, LaCrosse; four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Louise Parsons.
Funeral will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Bison Methodist Church, Bison. Visitation will be from 3 to 9 p.m. Friday at Stockham Family Funeral Home, McPherson, with family present from 7 to 9 p.m. Burial will be in Baptist Cemetery, Bison.

George Frederick Hofferber Sr.
DES MOINES, Iowa - George Frederick Hofferber Sr., 93, died Jan. 16, 2000, at Abbey Care Center, Des Moines.
He was born March 14, 1906, at Dorrance, the son of Jacob C. and Maria K. Stinle Hofferber. He was a retired farmer and former owner of the Center Street Market, Hoisington.
He belonged to St. Stephen's Lutheran Church, Des Moines.
On Dec. 26, 1944, he married
Elma Schneider at Jetmore. She died June 18, 1982.
Survivors include: a son, Fred, Des Moines; and three grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Jacob Jr.; and three sisters, Alma Lee, Esther, and Emma.
Memorial services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Concordia Lutheran Church, Hoisington, with Pastor Garry Dassow presiding. There will be no visitation. Inurnment will be in Hoisington Cemetery.

Cecelia Louise Beasley
PRATT - Cecelia Louise Beasley, 94, died Feb. 8, 2000, at Friendship Manor, Pratt.
She was born March 20, 1905, at Herington, the daughter of Andrew and Ella Whitlow Gover. A lifetime area resident, she was a homemaker.
She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Pratt.
On May 2, 1937, she married
Everett C. Beasley at Independence, Mo. He died Jan. 28, 1975.
Survivors include: a son, Robert J., Raymore, Mo.; a sister, Francis Matthews, Pratt; five grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Paul.
Rosary will be at 7 p.m. today at Ayres-Calbeck Mortuary, Pratt. Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Pratt, with Father Jun presiding. Friends may call from 1 to 6 p.m. today at the mortuary. Burial will be in Greenlawn Cemetery, Pratt.

CONROE, Tex. - Roy M. Fly, 88, died Feb. 9, 2000, at Autumn Hills Nursing Home, Conroe, Texas.
He was born Nov. 21, 1911, at Santa Fe, Tennessee, the son of E. C. and Betty Walker Fly. A resident of the Houston area since 1955, he was retired purchasing director for Gulf Oil, Houston.
He belonged to United Methodist Church, Houston.
On Feb. 14, 1941, he married
Achsah Hawkins at Redondo Beach, Calif. She survives.
Other survivors include: a son, Robert E., Winston-Salem, N.C.; a daughter, Karen Achterberg, Houston; a sister, Helen Case, Houston.
Graveside service will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in SterlingCemeterywith the Rev. James Graves presiding.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Clyde.

Modena H. Pitman
EMPORIA - Modena Helen Pitman, 92, Emporia, died Feb. 8, 2000, at Emporia Presbyterian Manor.
She was born April 12, 1907, at Billings, Mo., the daughter of Norman Callaway and Etta Merchant Porter. She attended the University of Kansas and Emporia State College. She earned a bachelor's degree from Friends University, Wichita, and a master's degree from Kansas State University.
She taught music in Troy, Wathena, and Minneola, and home economics at Haven. She gave private piano and voice lessons in Minneola.
She was a member of First United Methodist Church and UMW, and for many years served as choir director for the church. She belonged to the DAR, Minneola Civic Club, and Chapter GT of PEO. She was a member of Thesaurus Club and Emporia Retired Teachers Association.
On June 4, 1932, she married
J. Frank Pitman at Minneola. He died in 1956.
Survivors include: a son, David, Burke, Va.; two daughters, Nannette Martin, Emporia, and Francia Goltz, Phoenix; seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Friday at First United Methodist Church, Emporia with the Rev. Norton Ritter presiding. The family will meet with friends from 10 to 11 a.m. at First United Methodist Church, Minneola on Saturday. Graveside service, with the Rev. Kip Ryherd presiding will follow with interment in Minneola Cemetery.
