Orlando Enns
HILLSBORO - Orlando Enns, 86, died Jan. 31, 2000, at Hillsboro Community Medical Center Long Term Care Unit, Hillsboro.
He was born Sept. 28, 1913, in rural Hillsboro, the son of Henry and Maria Brandt Enns. A resident of Hillsboro, he was a farmer.
He was a member of Trinity Mennonite Church, Hillsboro.
On April 26, 1934, he married
Selma Unruh in rural Hillsboro. She died in 1995.
Survivors include: a daughter, Sharron Schutte, Lehigh; two step-granddaughters; and eight step-great-grandchildren.
Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Trinity Mennonite Church, Hillsboro, with Pastor Tim Kliewer presiding. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Hillsboro Memorial Chapel, Hillsboro. Burial will be in Johannestal Cemetery, rural Hillsboro.

Sam J. Humphries
OFFERLE - Sam J. Humphries, 61, died Feb. 1, 2000, at Pratt Regional Medical Center, Pratt.
He was born July 15, 1938, at Colorado, the son of Jeff and Martha Marie Pierce Humphries. He was a salesman for My-D Han-D Manufacturing, Dodge City.
He belonged to St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Offerle.
On Jan. 10, 1959, he married
Marlene M. Tieben at Windthorst. She survives.
Other survivors include: two sons, Gale, Boulder City, Nev., and Jeff, Dodge City; three daughters, Tammie Naab, Sandie Humphries and Jackie Allen, all of Dodge City; two sisters, Kathy Gerlach, Wichita, and Dorothy Keithline, Topeka; and 16 grandchildren.
Vigil service will be at 7:30 p.m. today at Burkhart Funeral Chapel, Dodge City. Funeral mass will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Offerle, with Father William Vogel presiding. Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. today at the funeral chapel. Burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery, Windthorst.

Dawn Diane Price
LAWRENCE - Dawn Diane Price, 41, died Jan. 30, 2000, at Lawrence Memorial Hospital, Lawrence.
She was born Jan. 14, 1959, at McPherson, the daughter of Vaughan C. and T. Jean "Jeanne" Taylor-Harris Paris. A resident of Lawrence since 1977, moving from McPherson, she worked as a machine operator in the packing department of Hallmark Greeting Cards Co., Lawrence.
She was a former member of First Congregational United Church of Christ, McPherson.
Survivors include: her mother, McPherson; a brother, Michael T. Harris, Okemos, Mich.; and three sisters, Judy L. Carey and Lisa Faust, both of Charlevoix, Mich., and Bonnie J. Harris, Boynton Beach, Fla.
She was preceded in death by her father.
Funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. today at First Presbyterian Church, McPherson, with the Rev. J. David Worthen presiding. Burial will be in McPherson Cemetery.

David F. DeRoo
GREAT BEND - David F. DeRoo, 48, died Jan. 28, 2000, at his home.
He was born Dec. 20, 1951, at Wichita, the son of Arthur Francis and Silva Eva Vratil DeRoo. A resident of the Great Bend and Larned areas for most of his life, he was a construction laborer.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Memorial services and inurnment will be announced at a later date by Great Bend Family Mortuary & Crematory, Great Bend.
Helen Esther Harp
GARDEN CITY - Helen Esther Harp, 95, died Jan. 31, 2000, at St. Catherine Hospital, Garden City.
She was born Dec. 24, 1904, in Wirt County, West Virginia, the daughter of the Rev. Samuel Austin and Mintian Mae Wolfe Fisher. She graduated from high school in Grand Junction, Colo., in 1921. She earned her bachelor's degree from the University of Colorado. She taught first grade in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, for 10 years, and moved to Garden City in 1945. She managed the AAA office. In 1957 she became the Finney County Librarian until her retirement.
She was a past state chair of the VFW Auxiliary, Southwest Kansas Library Association, and March of Dimes. She was a member of numerous boards, councils and associations and belonged to the NEA and the KRTA.
On Dec. 24, 1952, she married
William Lester Harp at Garden City. He died Sept. 11, 1999.
Survivors include: a sister, Vernice Overfield, Shellsburg, Iowa; and several nephews and nieces.
She was preceded in death by four brothers, Chuck and Vernon Fisher and two infant brothers; and four sisters, Lavone Herrera, Jeanne Vogel, Connie Rammelsburg and Naomia Heltemes.
Funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Community Congregational Church, Garden City, with Dr. R. Michael Lake presiding. Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. today at Garnand Funeral Home, Garden City. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens, Garden City.

John T. Dealy
BURRTON - John T. Dealy, 86, died Jan. 31, 2000, at Hospice Residential Care Center, Hutchinson.
He was born May 8, 1913, in Reno County, the son of John A. and Margaret Kelley Dealy. He was a graduate of St. Teresa's School in Hutchinson. A Burrton resident for 35 years, he was a heavy-duty master diesel mechanic and had worked on Big Inch, Little Inch and the Alyeska pipelines. He owned and operated John Dealy Heavy Duty Diesel Shop at Burrton, retiring in 1993.
He was a member of St. Teresa's Catholic Church, Hutchinson, Operators Union No. 302, Washington state, and Operators Union No. 627, Tulsa, Okla.
On June 19, 1939, he married
Juanita Turner at Kingman. She survives.
Other survivors include: two sons, Mike, Halstead, and John Paul, Anchorage, Alaska; two daughters, Susan Sutton, Burrton, and Patricia Wirch, Anchorage; a sister, Loretta Gaal, Florida; seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Bernard and Paul F. Dealy; and a sister, Denise Dealy.
Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Johnson & Sons Funeral Home Memorial Chapel, with Father Ned Blick presiding. Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery, Hutchinson.

Viola Maye Naugle
LARNED - Viola Maye Naugle, 69, died Jan. 31, 2000, at Wesley Medical Center, Wichita.
She was born Nov. 29, 1930, at Golden Colo., the daughter of George and Grace Williams Banes. A Larned resident since 1963, moving from Ava, Mo., she was a homemaker.
She was a member of Church of the Nazarene, Larned.
Survivors include: a stepfather, Berry Homedale, Larned; three sons, Charles Edward, Pratt, Michael Andy, Larned, and Joseph D., Hutchinson; five daughters, Alice Marie Robinson, Lynn Humphries and Brenda Farmer, all of Larned, Wanda Gay McKenna, Hutchinson, and Shirley Ann Helms, Park; a sister, Frances Dwinger, and a half sister, Nancy Smith, both of Larned; ex-husband, Edward Naugle, Larned; 23 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, Gene and Richard Banes; a sister, Ruth Cox; and a grandson.
Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Beckwith Mortuary Chapel, Larned, with the Rev. Mike Johnson presiding. Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. today and 9 a.m. to service time Thursday at the mortuary. Burial will be in Larned Cemetery.
