Delbert E. `Del' Story
Delbert E. "Del" Story, 74, died Jan. 28, 2000, at his home in Hutchinson.
He was born Oct. 29, 1925, at Towanda, the son of Forrest L. and Geneva See Story. A Hutchinson resident since 1958, moving from Great Bend, he was an agent for the Santa Fe Railroad, retiring after 46 years.
He belonged to American Legion Lysle Rishel Post No. 68 and Veterans of Foreign Wars Bob Campbell Post No. 1361, both at Hutchinson. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II.
On Aug. 18, 1960, he married
Donna I. Cruse at Las Vegas, Nev. She survives.
Other survivors include: a son, Terry L., Hutchinson; a brother, Vernon, Topeka; two grandchildren; and a step-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, William and Jackie Dale.
Cremation is planned, and private family services will be held.

Virginia M. Lawrenz
SAWYER - Virginia M. Lawrenz, 70, died Jan. 28, 2000, at her home in Sawyer.
She was born March 1, 1929, at Clearwater, the daughter of Orie N. and Fayrah Haines Love. She attended Friends University and Kansas State University. A Sawyer resident for 45 years, she taught third and fourth grade at Sawyer School and Pretty Prairie and was a homemaker.
She belonged to Sawyer United Methodist Church, United Methodist Women, the Sweet Adelines, Pratt, the Modern Matrons Club and the EHU, both at Sawyer, and the Elm Mills.
On June 6, 1954, she married
Eugene R. Lawrenz at Clearwater. He survives.
Other survivors include: a son, Monte, Sawyer; a daughter, Jan Blaesi, Pratt; two brothers, Virgil Love, Wichita, and Orie Love, Caldwell; three sisters, Viola Bates, Doris Carter and Leila Anderson, all of Clearwater; and seven grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a brother, William Love.
Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Monday at First United Methodist Church, Pratt, with the Rev. Kendall Utt presiding. Friends may call from 1 to 8 p.m. today at Larrison Mortuary, Pratt. The casket will remain closed. Burial will be in Ellenwood Cemetery, Sawyer.

Duane F. Schneider
TRIBUNE - Duane F. Schneider, 79, died Jan. 28, 2000, at Greeley County Hospital, Tribune.
He was born Sept. 24, 1920, in Stafford County, the son of Edward H. and Laura Fritzemeier Schneider. A Greeley County resident since 1946, he was a farmer and stockman.
He belonged to United Methodist Church and the Veterans of Foreign Wars, both at Tribune, the Kansas Livestock Association, National Cattlemen's Association and was a life master of the American Bridge Association. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II.
On Dec. 24, 1943, he married
Zenaide Burnett at Corpus Christi, Texas. She died Sept. 30, 1993. On Oct. 16, 1994, he married
Glenna Farmer at Tribune. She survives.
Other survivors include: five sons, Duane N., Steve, Brad, Scott and Dirk, all of Tribune; a stepson, Tom Farmer, Las Vegas; a stepdaughter, Jeri Wallis, Las Vegas; a brother, Ervin, Tribune; a sister, Velma Koelsch, St. John; 24 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Funeral will be at 2 p.m. MST Monday at United Methodist Church, Tribune, with the Rev. Keith Fink presiding. Friends may call from noon to 9 p.m. today and 9 to 10:30 a.m. Monday at Price & Sons Funeral Home, Tribune. Burial will be in Greeley CountyCemeterywith military graveside honors.

DODGE CITY - Victor Hinnergardt, of Dodge City, died Jan. 29, 2000, at Western Plains Regional Hospital.

Martha M. Gannaway
ELLINWOOD - Martha M. Gannaway, 91, died Jan. 29, 2000, at her home.
She was born Feb. 24, 1908, at Brogado, Texas, the daughter of Junot and Elizabeth McDermott Shipman. An Ellinwood resident since 1948, she was co-owner of Gannaway Hardware, Ellinwood.
She belonged to St. Joseph Catholic Church, Ellinwood, and the Altar Society of the church.
On Oct. 31, 1926, she married
Porter Gannaway at Abilene, Texas. He died Feb. 16, 1984.
Survivors include: a son, John, Ellinwood; three grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Martha Jean Gannaway; two brothers; and four sisters.
Altar Society rosary will be at 3 p.m. Monday at Kimple Funeral Home, Ellinwood. Vigil service will be at 7 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Ellinwood, with Father David Flagor presiding. Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. today and 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Lakin-Comanche District Cemetery, Ellinwood.

Fred E. Small Sr.
MOSCOW - Fred E. Small Sr., 72, died Jan. 28, 2000, at Northwest Texas Hospital, Amarillo, Texas.
He was born Jan. 27, 1928, at North Platte, Neb., the son of Daniel E. and Mary E. Reeves Small. A Moscow area resident since 1975, moving from North Platte, he was a trucker.
On Aug. 6, 1976, he married
Vickie Darlene Stelzig at Sublette. She survives.
Other survivors include: six sons, Larry, Satanta, Charles, Earl and Julian, all of North Platte, Ed Jr., Liberal, and Robert, Hutchinson; a daughter, Kristi Van Hooser, Johnson; a brother, Charles, Sutherland Neb.; two sisters, Sylvia Coutts, Richland, Wash., and Mattie Chambers, Centralia, Wash.; eight grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Macy Ellen Small; brother, Vernon; and a sister, Hazel Kramer.
Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Moscow Baptist Church, with the Rev. Larry Bradford presiding. Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. today and 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, all at Haskell County Funeral Home, Sublette. Burial will be in Moscow Cemetery.

Juanita Violet Beesley
HUGOTON - Juanita Violet Beesley, 79, died Jan. 29, 2000, at Pioneer Manor Nursing Home, Hugoton.
She was born Sept. 19, 1920, in Stevens County, the daughter of Leva and Bessie Burrows Beavers. A longtime Hugoton resident, she was a homemaker, had taught in rural Hugoton and had been a Tupperware dealer.
She belonged to First Church of God, Hugoton.
On May 27, 1947, she married
Walter Wade Beesley at Hugoton. He died Dec. 26, 1992.
Survivors include: four sons, Walter W. Jr. and Roger M., both of Hugoton, Royce L., Newport, Ark., and James L., Garden City; a daughter, Peggy R. Rose, DeSoto, Texas; two brothers, Alvin Beavers, Liberal, and Melvin Beavers, Garden Grove, Calif.; two sisters, Alberta Willsey, Hugoton, and Leta Rose Bernard, Livonia, Mich.; 15 grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by a son, Bobby.
Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Monday at First Church of God, Hugoton, with the Rev. Joe Downs presiding. Burial will be in Hugoton Cemetery.
