Grace Elizabeth Downey Crow
KIOWA - Grace Elizabeth Downey Crow, 96, died Feb. 12, 2000, at Kiowa District Hospital.
She was born July 17, 1903, at Hickman Mills, Mo., the daughter of David and Rosana L. Bryan Downey. A resident of Corwin and Hazelton since 1920, she had lived in Kiowa since 1972. She was a homemaker.
She belonged to First Christian Church, Senior Citizens, was a former member of the Town n' Country Garden Club, and was a charter member of the Kiowa Historical Society, all at Kiowa.
On Dec. 28, 1924, she married
Clarence Everett Crow at Corwin. He died June 5, 1980.
Survivors include: two sons, Harold Everett, Albuquerque, N.M., and Merle Lloyd, Curtis, Wash.; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by an infant sister and brother; a sister, Marguerite; and two brothers, Jack and Gail.
Funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at First Christian Church, Kiowa, with Minister J.V. Hovorka presiding. Friends may call from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Friday at Fisher Funeral Home, Kiowa. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery, Hazelton.

LeeRoy Bruce Hein
HILLSBORO - LeeRoy Bruce Hein, 73, died Feb. 14, 2000, at his home in Durham.
He was born Jan. 10, 1927, in rural Durham, the son of Jake and Hannah Fisher Hein. A resident of Durham, he was a self-employed mechanic and farmer.
He was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church, Tampa.
In 1946, he married
Helen Louise Gray. She died in 1986. On Sept. 26, 1986, he married
Shirley Albright Vogel at Abilene. She survives.
Other survivors include: two sons, Jim, Valley Center, and David, Hillsboro; a stepson, Tim Vogel, Marion; a daughter, Wanda Schroeder, Moundridge; three stepdaughters, Debbie Vankleek, Bellevue, Neb., Sherri Hinnenkamp, Benton, and Nancy Vogel, Manhattan; five grandchildren; and six step-grandchildren.
Prayer service will be at 7 p.m. today at Hillsboro Memorial Chapel, Hillsboro. Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. John's Lutheran Church, Tampa, with the Rev. Clark Davis presiding. Burial will be in Durham Park Cemetery, rural Durham.

The Rev. Claud L. Myers
WICHITA - The Rev. Claud L. Myers, 85, died Feb. 14, 2000, at Via Christi, St. Joseph Campus, Wichita.
He was born Aug. 24, 1914, at Survey, Neb., the son of Jesse and Dollie Myers. He graduated from Southwestern Bible College, Enid, Okla. A former resident of Hutchinson, he was a retired Assembly of God minister and former minister of Faith Tabernacle Assembly of God Church, Hutchinson.
He married
Lucille Myers. She died in 1989.
Survivors include: wife, Bertha, Wichita; a son, Jess, Wichita; two daughters, Janice Browne, Tacoma, Wash., and Iva Flanagan, Tulsa, Okla.; a stepson, John Lindley, Kansas City, Kan.; a stepdaughter, Betsy Scarbrough, Wichita; two sisters, Nellie Myers, Mulvane, and Estella Haskins, McPherson; three grandchildren and 76 step grandchildren.
Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Broadway Mortuary Chapel, Wichita. Burial will be at 2:30 p.m. Friday in Wakita Cemetery, Wakita, Okla.

Chester E. Irvin
ALEXANDER - Chester E. Irvin, 78, died Feb. 14, 2000, at Rush County Hospital, La Crosse.
He was born June 11, 1921, at Alexander, the son of Chess and Maggie Hayes Irvin. A lifetime resident of Alexander, he was a farmer and stockman and also a rural mail carrier.
He belonged to Alexander United Methodist Church, Masonic Lodge No. 58 AM & FM, McCracken, the Fort Hays Shrine Club, Starlite Chapter No. 84 Order of Eastern Star, McCracken, was a member of the Isis Temple and Scottish Rite Bodies, Salina, and belonged to American Legion Post No. 59, McCracken. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II.
On July 24, 1946, he married
Ruthetta R. "Ruth" Brack at Alexander. She survives.
Other survivors include: four sons, Dennis W., Manhattan, Galen R., of Ottawa, Don L. and Kellye L. both of McCracken; a sister, Eunice North, McCracken; and eight grandchildren.
Funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the United Methodist Church, Alexander, with the Revs. Glenn and Barbara Patterson presiding. Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. today at Fitzgerald Funeral Home, Ness City, and until service time Thursday at the church. The family will be present from 7:30 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home. Burial will be in McCracken Cemetery, with military graveside rites conducted by the McCracken American Legion, and Masonic rites by Lodge No. 58, McCracken.

Patricia Ann 'Pat' Spacil
ELLINWOOD - Patricia Ann "Pat" Spacil, 57, died Feb. 14, 2000, at The University of Kansas Medical Center, Kansas City, Kan.
She was born March 17, 1942, at Lincoln, the daughter of Glenn and Pauline Pinnick Lewick. She graduated from Great Bend High School. A longtime Ellinwood resident, she worked for 12 years at Woodhaven Care Center doing housekeeping and laundry, and as a CNA.
On Jan. 21, 1984, she married
Raymond Spacil at Ellinwood. He survives.
Other survivors include: two daughters, Michelle Niewenhuis, Barstow, Calif., and Tara Nicole Stickley, Great Bend; two stepsons, Michael and Steven Spacil, both of Phoenix; a stepdaughter, Melanie Rehmert, Dodge City; eight grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Jackie Suzanne Branson.
Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Friday at United Methodist Church, Ellinwood, with the Rev. Jim Newkirk presiding. Friends may call from 1 to 8 p.m. Thursday and 9 a.m. to noon Friday at Kimple Funeral Home, Ellinwood. Burial will be in Lakin-Comanche District Cemetery, Ellinwood.

Iva Marie Bruch
KINGMAN - Iva Marie Bruch, 88, died Feb. 15, 2000, at Chase County Health and Rehabilitation Center, Cottonwood Falls.
She was born Jan. 25, 1912, at St. Francis, the daughter of John and Mary Edith Jones Duncan. A resident of the Kingman community for most of her life, she was a retired fourth-grade teacher in the Arlington school system.
She was a member of United Methodist Church, United Methodist Women and the Roundtable Club, all at Kingman.
On June 1, 1939, she married
Merle E. Bruch at Langdon. He survives.
Other survivors include: two sons, Gary, Strong City, and Mike, Kingman; a daughter, Johneen Koestel, Partridge; a brother, T.J. Duncan, Raleigh, N.C.; a sister, Maybelle Christian, Penalosa; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Livingston Funeral Home, Kingman, with the Rev. John Schmitt presiding. Friends may call from 3 to 8 p.m. today and noon to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Lerado Cemetery, Reno County.

Raymond Albert Kisner
GREAT BEND - Raymond Albert Kisner, 79, died Feb. 14, 2000, at Great Bend.
He was born Sept. 23, 1920, at Pfeifer, the son of Joseph and Anna Marie Burgardt Kisner. He graduated from Pfeifer Grade School and attended St. John's Military Academy, Hays, for one year. A resident of Great Bend since 1974, moving from Hoisington, he was a self-employed farmer, roughneck driller in the oil fields, and was custodian at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church and Park West.
He was a member of St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, Great Bend. He served with the U.S. Army during World War II. He received the American Theater and EAMET ribbons.
On Sept. 18, 1947, he married
Rose Marie Agnes Gibler at Ellis. She survives.
Other survivors include: three sons, Deon Lee, Wichita, Ronald Phillip, Atwood, and Lavern Ray, Copeland; a daughter, Sheila Rose Nuss, Great Bend; a sister, Helen Staub, Hoisington; eight grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by four brothers, William, Joseph Jr., Alphonse and Fred; and two sisters, Coletta Jacobs and Mary Herrman.
Vigil service will be at 7 p.m. today at Fryberger Mortuary Chapel, Great Bend. Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday in St. John's Cemetery, Hoisington, with Father Charles Mazouch presiding. Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. today at the mortuary, with the family receiving friends from 6 p.m. until vigil time.

Shirley Ann Click
GENESEO - Shirley Ann Click, 61, died Feb. 14, 2000, at Via Christi Regional Medical Center, St. Francis Campus, Wichita.
She was born Aug. 12, 1938, at Tecumseh, Okla., the daughter of Clifford W. and Mary Alice Akin Kindle. She graduated from Geneseo High School in 1956. A Geneseo resident since 1943, she was a homemaker.
On July 29, 1956, she married
John O. Click at Geneseo. He survives.
Other survivors include: a son, John Darren, Geneseo; two daughters, Becky L. Kratzer, Geneseo, and Donna Jo Laughlin, Benton; a sister, Leah Jane Gustus, Geneseo; six grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Billy Ray Kindle.
Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at United Methodist Church, Geneseo, with the Revs. Janet Weathersbee and Doug Tribolet presiding. Friends may call from 2 at 7 p.m. today at Sillin Funeral Home, Lyons. Burial will be in Geneseo Cemetery.
