Larry Edward Baker
LARNED - Larry Edward Baker, 46, died May 9, 2000, at his home in Larned after a brief illness.
He was born May 15, 1953, at New Brunswick, N.J., the son of Henry and Marion Jean Roloff Baker. A Larned resident since 1996, he was a relief cook in the Larned State Hospital dietary department.
Survivors include: his father and stepmother, Henry and Mary Ann, Florence, Colo.; his mother, Marion Jean, Colorado Springs, Colo.; and a brother, John Henry, Colorado Springs.
Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held at a later date in Colorado. Inurnment will be in Larned Cemetery.

Norma Jean Sutherland
LIBERAL - Norma Jean Sutherland, 74, died May 12, 2000, at Southwest Medical Center, Liberal.
She was born Aug. 30, 1925, in Hamilton County, the daughter of Frank E. and Hazel Clore Cole. She attended beauty school. A Liberal resident since 1950, formerly of Wichita and Colorado, she owned and operated the Cut & Curl, Liberal, retiring in 1978.
She belonged to First Presbyterian Church and Beta Sigma Phi, where she had recently received her 50-year pin, both at Liberal.
On Aug. 8, 1942, she married
James A. Sutherland at Syracuse. He survives.
Other survivors include: two sons, James R., Meade, and Timothy E., Atlanta; a sister, Frances O'Brate, Garden City; four grandchildren; and a great-granddaughter.
She was preceded in death by a daughter.
Funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Miller Mortuary Chapel, Liberal, with the Rev. Stephen Saville presiding. Friends may call from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday and from 8 a.m. until service time Wednesday, both at the mortuary. Graveside service will be at 2 p.m. MDT Wednesday in Syracuse Cemetery.
Lois D. Lehmann
MOUNDRIDGE - Lois D. Lehmann, 95, died May 11, 2000, at Memorial Home, Moundridge.
She was born Sept. 4, 1904, at Halstead, the daughter of William T. and Frances E. Burgert Lehmann. A lifetime Halstead resident, moving to the Memorial Home in 1988, she was a retired teacher at Lyons, Anchorage, Alaska, Wellington and Halstead.
She belonged to First United Presbyterian Church, Halstead, the Daughters of the American Revolution, the Berle Club, Halstead, Alpha Alpha Chapter of Delta Kappa Gamma and the Retired Teachers Association.
Survivors include: cousins.
She was preceded in death by a brother, William Walter Lehmann.
Memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at First United Presbyterian Church, Halstead, with the Rev. Dallas Curts presiding. Inurnment will be in Halstead Cemetery.

Gary Don Brewer
Gary Don Brewer, 53, died May 15, 2000, at Wesley Medical Center, Wichita.
He was born Feb. 17, 1947, at Enid, Okla., the son of Floyd S. and Joan Travis Brewer. He graduated from Nickerson High School in 1965 and attended Hutchinson Community College. A longtime Hutchinson resident, moving from Augusta, he owned Brewer Waterproofing Inc.
He attended Mitchell United Methodist Chapel.
On March 9, 1979, he married
Nancy L. Beverage at Hutchinson. She survives.
Other survivors include: two sons, Cameron Linn Brewer, Pretty Prairie, and Mike Dyer, Arizona; a daughter, Kristina Dyer, Arizona; his parents; three brothers, William Eugene, Genoa, Ohio, Harold S., Montrose, Colo., and Chuck, Potwin; two sisters, Kathy S. Coons, Montrose, Colo., and Susan Brewer, Potwin; two granddaughters; and several nephews and nieces.
He was preceded in death by an infant brother, David.
Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Elliott Mortuary Chapel, Hutchinson, with the Rev. Jeff Miller presiding. Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. today and 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday at the mortuary. Burial will be at Mitchell Cemetery, Hutchinson.

Paul Dean 'Paulie' Adkism
DODGE CITY - Paul Dean "Paulie" Adkism, 27, of Dodge City, died May 13, 2000, at Kearney, Neb.
He was born Jan. 20, 1973, at Dodge City, the son of Paul Edward and Connie Mae Moore Adkism. A 1991 graduate of Dodge City High School, he was a food service worker at Burger King, McDonald's and Taco Bell, all at Dodge City.
He attended Second Baptist Church, Dodge City.
Survivors include his father, Paris, Texas; his mother, Wichita; a son, Schyler Vacha, Kearney, Neb.; a sister, LaCondra Adkism, Dodge City; a grandfather, the Rev. Blackwell, Paris; grandmothers Dorothy Blackwell, Paris, and Wilda Tonte, Dodge City; and two half sisters.
Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Swaim Funeral Home, Dodge City, with the Revs. Lucille Luckey and Danny Dinkins presiding. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday and 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Family will receive friends from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Albertine 'Abbey' Morgan
GARDEN CITY - Albertine "Abbey" Morgan, 93, died May 16, 2000, at Garden Valley Retirement Village, Garden City.
She was born Sept. 17, 1906, at La Crosse, the daughter of Herbert Thomas and Lillian Mable Johnson Mosher. She grew up in La Crosse and attended schools there. She attended high school and business college in Wichita. A Garden City resident since 1939, moving from La Crosse, she was a homemaker, worked briefly as a secretary in Wichita, and was a volunteer for many years at St. Catherine Hospital, Garden City.
She belonged to the Presbyterian Church and was a former member of the Garden City Country Club, both at Garden City.
On Feb. 19, 1939, she married
Dale Vaughn Morgan at Ponca City, Okla. He died May 30, 1967.
Survivors include two nieces, Billie Bea Bohannon, Cheyenne, Wyo., and Jane Childers, Denver.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Bill Mosher.
Graveside service will be at 10 a.m. Thursday in La Crosse Cemetery, with Deacon Harry Bohanan presiding. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Garnand Funeral Home, Garden City. Burial will be in La Crosse Cemetery.

Jackson L. Neal
CANTON, Ill. - Jackson L. Neal, 66, died May 15, 2000, at St. Francis Medical Center, Peoria, Ill.
He was born Jan. 19, 1934, at St. Louis, the son of John Thomas and Irene S. Ehnstedt Neal. He had been a janitor at St. Francis Hospital, Wichita, for 20 years, and served in the Army Reserves.
He belonged to Wesley United Methodist Church, Canton.
He married
Sherry Darlene Strange. She died Oct. 26, 1981. On May 29, 1983, he married
Barbara Strobl. She survives.
Other survivors include: two sons, Casey Smith, Canton, and Frank Readey, Peoria; a stepdaughter, Cynthia Jean Robinson, Newton; his mother, Great Bend; and a sister, Shirley J. Fine.
He was preceded in death by his father.
Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Murphy-Sedgwick Memorial Home, Canton, with the Rev. Paul Walles presiding. Friends may call from 10 to 11 a.m. Thursday at the memorial home. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery, Canton.

Richard James Lacey
FARSON, Wyo. - Richard James Lacey, 65, died May 13, 2000, at Memorial Hospital, Sweetwater County, Wyo.
He was born March 24, 1935, at Hammon, Okla., the son of Fred Clinton and Etta Wright Lacey. He graduated from Porter High School in Oklahoma and earned a bachelor's degree at Wichita State University and a master's degree at Pittsburg State University. A resident of Rock Springs, Wyo., and Farson, Wyo., for the past 18 years, formerly of Kansas City, Mo., he was a teacher at West Wyoming Community College until retiring in 1995.
He belonged to the Masonic Lodge and had served with the U.S. Air Force.
In July 1957 he married
Velma Gourley.
Survivors include: a son, Michael A., Gladstone, Mo.; two daughters, Renee Shriner, Ellsworth, and Terri Faller, Gladstone, Mo.; a brother, LeRoy, Cassidy; a sister, Billie Cash, Muskogee, Okla.; and five grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Faye Durrett; and a brother, Ray.
Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Ignatius Catholic Church, Kanopolis. Visitation will be from 9 to 10 a.m. Saturday at the church. Burial will be in Kanopolis Cemetery. Parsons Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Earlene F. Williamson
JOHNSON - Earlene F. Williamson, 59, died May 16, 2000, at Stanton County Long Term Care Unit, Johnson.
She was born Jan. 24, 1941, at Laverne, Okla., the daughter of James Earl and Dollie Viola Hannigan Nairn. She was raised in Syracuse. A Johnson resident since 1975, she was a certified Bob Ross painting instructor, charted family genealogies and worked 18 years as a bookkeeper for Baily Estate.
On Aug. 16, 1970, she married
John Williamson at Johnson. He survives.
Other survivors include: a son, Rick, Johnson; three daughters, Shari LaFawn King, Eskridge, Robin LaVonda Heckel, Ulysses, and Joni Michelle Hale, Clarksville, Tenn.; two brothers, Joe, Syracuse, and Archie L. Nairn, Johnson; 11 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Harley Nairn.
Graveside service will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday in Stanton County Cemetery, Johnson, with the Rev. Bob Warner presiding. Friends may call from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday at Garnand Funeral Home, Johnson.
