Clarence L. Kash
LAKIN - Clarence L. Kash, 90, died Oct. 13, 2000, at High Plains Retirement Village, Lakin.
He was born Oct. 7, 1910, in Marion County, the son of John and Florence Kaniper Kash. His family homesteaded near the Kearny and Grant County line. He attended Weber/Morningstar School until 1929. He later attended a business college in Dodge City for a year. He was a farmer and raised registered Hereford cattle. He delivered mail on the North Star Route until 1981. He had lived on his farm from 1933 to 1963 when he moved to Lakin.
He was a former member of the Eagles Lodge, Garden City.
On Jan. 12, 1931, he married
Viola Miller at Lakin. She survives.
Other survivors include: two sons, Arnold, Omaha, and Maurice, Wellington; two brothers, Oscar, Meridian, Idaho, and Marvin, Lakin; a sister, Maybelle Cook, Great Bend; seven grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Russell and Arthur; and two sisters, Ruth Pebley and Edith Adams.
Funeral will be at 2:30 p.m. Monday at Garnand Funeral Home, Lakin, with the Rev. Warren Hitt Presiding. Friends may call from noon to 8 p.m. today and from 9 a.m. to service time Monday, both at the funeral home. Burial will be in Lakin Cemetery.

Ann L. Rodriguez
DODGE CITY - Ann L. Rodriguez, 57, died Oct. 13, 2000, at Western Plains Regional Hospital, Dodge City.
She was born March 12, 1943, at Hubbard, Ohio, the daughter of Perry and Carrie Lucille Kidd Seger. She attended Sterling College. A resident of Dodge City since 1968, she taught at Norton, Copeland and Montezuma, and later worked for the U.S. Postal Service for 16 years.
She belonged to First Presbyterian Church, the Presbyterian Women, Christian Women's Club and the Stitch 'n' Chatter, all at Dodge City.
On June 8, 1968, she married
Reyes Rodriguez at Hubbard, Ohio. He survives.
Other survivors include: a daughter, Angela Rains, Dodge City; a sister, Nancy Van Horn, Hubbard, Ohio; and two grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and a sister, Ruth.
Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at First Presbyterian Church, Dodge City, with the Rev. David Clipson presiding. Friends may call from noon to 8 p.m. Monday at Swaim Funeral Home, Dodge City, with the family in attendance from 7 to 8 p.m. Burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery, Dodge City.

Vera E. Bowen
ULYSSES - Vera E. Brown, 87, died Oct. 12, 2000, at Western Prairie Care Home, Ulysses.
She was born Nov. 21, 1912, at Spalding, Okla., the daughter of Luther and Victoria Matilda Bellew Thompson. She worked in the dietary department of Western Prairie Care Home and was a homemaker.
She belonged to First Assembly of God Church, Ulysses, the Grant County Senior Center, and the Grant County Seniors Center Kitchen Kuties Band.
In 1940, she married
Henry Orr at Pampa, Texas. On July 23, 1946, she married
Otis Bowen at Parsons. He preceded her in death.
Survivors include: two sons, Charles Orr and Jerry Frye, both of Cincinnati; a daughter, Sandra Maris, Ulysses; two stepdaughters, Mavis McDowell, Pampa, and Twila Arellano, Guymon, Okla.; 10 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Rosetta Peterson; three brothers, twins Ed and Orville, and LeRoy Thompson; and a sister, Gertrude Young.
Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at First Assembly of God Church, Ulysses, with the Rev. Michael Holman presiding. Friends may call from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday and Tuesday, both at Garnand Funeral Home, Ulysses. Burial will be in Ulysses Cemetery.

Colette M. Moeder
ODIN - Colette M. Moeder, 83, died Oct. 14, 2000, at Hoisington Rehabilitation Center.
She was born March 2, 1917, at Redwing, the daughter of Henry and Anna Steiner Moeder. She was a lifetime resident of the Odin-Hoisington area.
Survivors include: nephews and nieces.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, Julius and Pete Moeder; and four sisters, Regina Duttlinger, Clara Moeder, Martha Hekele and Elsie Hill.
Family rosary will be at 4 p.m. today, with vigil at 5 p.m., both at Nicholson-Ricke Funeral Home, Hoisington. Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Holy Family Catholic Church, Odin, with Father Pascal Klein presiding. Friends may call from 1 to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home. Ronnie L. Wilson
ANTHONY - Ronnie L. Wilson, 60, died Oct. 12, 2000, at Houston.
He was born Oct. 1, 1940, at Anthony, the son of Orvill E. and Elizabeth V. Hess Wilson. A longtime Attica resident, he was a truck driver for Don Haub, Enid, Okla.
Survivors include: a companion, Jonna Tipton, Jet, Okla.; two sons, Rodoney, Edmond, Okla., and Rocky, Jet, Okla, ; a daughter, Pam Mark, Maize; a sister, Connie Bullard, Attica; two stepchildren, Jennifer Delarue, Oklahoma City, and Josh Tipton, Enid; and eight grandchildren.
Funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Elliott Mortuary Chapel, Anthony, with Pastor John Schnelle presiding. Friends may call from 1 to 5 p.m. today at the funeral home. Burial will be in Forest Park Cemetery, Anthony.

Barbara Elizabeth (Davis) Palmer
McPHERSON - Barbara Elizabeth (Davis) Palmer, age 70. born June 29, 1930 in Sedan, Kan. She passed into our Lord's arms Oct. 13, 2000, at her home, 611 N. Hartup, McPherson, surrounded by her family and friends. She married
Bernard Palmer on May 29, 1947, in Caney, Kan. He survives. Bernard and Barbara moved to McPherson in 1962, where they have lived with their favorite cat "Smokey" for years.
She is survived by her four sons, Stephen and Alan, both of Snohomish, Wash., Robert, Hutchinson, Kan., and Randall, McPherson, Kan.; sisters: Vernie Dillon, Palm Springs, Calif., Alice Starks, Lenexa, Kan., Marie Smith, Cottonwood, Ariz.; and a brother, Earl Davis, Panama City Beach, Fla. Bernard and Barbara were blessed with ten grandchildren: Rob Krc, Jennifer Krc and Laura Krc, all of Snohomish, Wash., Alana Owens-Sneath, Oklahoma City, Okla., Eric Hebert, Marquette, Kan.; Charles Palmer, McPherson, Kan., Andrew Palmer, Lindsborg, Kan., Holly Palmer, McPherson, Kan., Matthew Palmer, Rancho Santa Margarita, Calif., and Austin Palmer, Lindsborg, Kan. Joyce Allene Drew McDonald
ELKHART - Joyce Allene Drew McDonald, 60, died Oct. 13, 2000, at Morton County Care Center, Elkhart.
She was born Feb. 28, 1940, at Hugoton, the daughter of George and Gladys Thompson Drew. She lived her entire life on the Drew Ranch, north of Rolla. She was a homemaker and rancher.
She belonged to First Baptist Church, Rolla, and the Amuse-U-Club of Dermot Community.
On Aug. 16, 1958, she married
Roildon McDonald at Hugoton. He survives.
Other survivors include: two sons, Brent, Rolla, and Brad, Salina; three daughters, Terri Rankin, Satanta, Jolene Popplewell, Liberal, and Miki McDonald, Emporia; two sisters, Juanita Green, Oxford, and Helen Willimon, Tipton, Okla.; and seven grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Kenneth Drew.

NESS CITY - Elsa Folkerts, 92, died Oct. 13, 2000, at Central Kansas Medical Center, Great Bend.
She was born, March 14, 1908, at Timken, the daughter of Adam and Mollie Wertz Schenk. A resident of Ness City since 1965, she was a homemaker.
She was a charter member of Our Redeemer Lutheran Church, Ness City, and Our Redeemer Ladies Aid.
On Feb. 15, 1928, she married
Edward Folkerts at Rush Center. He died June 28, 1973.
Survivors include: two sons, Duaine, Jetmore, and Alvin, Dodge City; two sisters, Mabel Price, Nekoma, and Amanda Price, Rozel; seven grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Adrianne Reinert; a sister, Helen Burk; three grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.
Funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church, Ness City, with the Rev. Jim Lohmeyer presiding. Friends may call from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. today at Fitzgerald Funeral Home, Ness City. Burial will be in Peace Lutheran Cemetery, Albert.

Chester A. Cline
HUGOTON - Chester A. Cline, 83, died May 22, 2000, at his home in rural Stevens County.
He was born Aug. 16, 1916, at Iuka, the son of John and Maggie Smart Cline. He attended Liberal High School. He had farmed in the Woods community, northwest of Liberal, since 1942.
He attended Lone Star Friends Church at Hugoton.
On Sept. 18, 1938, he married
Mildred E. Smith at Hooker, Okla. She survives.
Other survivors include: two sons, Dave, Pottsboro, Texas, and Roger, Hugoton; three daughters, Magdalene Brier, Liberal, Wilma Jean Hearon, Hugoton, and Ramona Webb, Raymore, Mo.; 12 grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, three sisters and a grandson.
Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Lone Star Friends Church, Hugoton, with Pastors Randy Littlefield and Bob Sanders presiding. Friends may call from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. today, and from 8 to 11 a.m. Thursday at Miller Mortuary, Liberal. Burial will be in Liberal Cemetery.
