Bryce H. Gleckler
DODGE CITY - Bryce H. Gleckler, 92, died May 26, 2000, at Aldersgate Village, Topeka.
He was born May 2, 1908, at Winfield, the son of Homer Lewis and Della Madge Hankins Gleckler. He graduated from Hutchinson High School, Southwestern College and the University of Northern Colorado. Formerly of Winfield and Hutchinson, he taught at Dodge City High School from 1930 to 1946 and at Dodge City Community College from 1946 to 1973, serving as acting dean of the college from 1958 to 1959.
He belonged to First United Methodist Church, Dodge City, where he was a board member and Sunday school superintendent, Dodge City Coin Club, Southwest Kansas Teacher's Association and Kansas State Teacher's Association, serving as board members of both and belonged to the National Education Association. He received the Kansas Master Teacher Award in 1965 and the Outstanding Service Award from Dodge City Community College in 1993 and Gleckler-Zollars Hall at Dodge City Community College was named after him in 1982.
On Nov. 30, 1933, he married
Helen Lighter at Dodge City, She died in December 1988.
Survivors include: two sons, Ralph, Colorado Springs, Colo., and Phil, Loveland, Colo.; a daughter, Lynn Gleckler Wilkerson, Topeka; a brother, Don, Bothell, Wash.; two half-sisters, Marjory Wilhite, Iowa City, Iowa, and Mary Grass, Westfield, Vt.; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Swaim Funeral Home, Dodge City, with the Rev. Dick Robbins presiding. Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery, Dodge City.

Hugo Omar Cabrera Torres
GARDEN CITY - Hugo Omar Cabrera Torres, 22, died May 26, 2000, at Goodland.
He was born March 10, 1978, at El Salvador, the son of Manuel Cabrera and Ermelinda Torres. A Garden City resident since 1995, moving from El Salvador, he worked in the maintenance department at IBP, Garden City, for two years.
He attended St. Mary's Catholic Church, Garden City.
On March 20, 1999, he married
Samantha K. Cruz at Garden City. She survives.
Other survivors include: a son, Xaiver Omar, of the home; mother, Garden City; and several uncles, aunts and cousins.
Vigil service will be at 8 p.m. Monday and Spanish rosary will follow, both at St. Mary Catholic Church, Garden City. Funeral Mass will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the church, with Father Oreste Huerta presiding. Friends may call from 1 to 8 p.m. today and from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday at Garnand Funeral Home, Garden City. Burial will be in Valley View Cemetery, Garden City.

Terry Morris
WICHITA - Terry Morris, 44, died May 30, 2000, at Wichita.
She was born Nov. 29, 1955, at Wichita, the daughter of Robert and Rita Fox Dalton. A lifetime Wichita resident, she was a waitress at Denny's.
She was a member of the Bass Anglers, Wichita.
She married
Don Morris in October 1990 in Wichita. He survives.
Other survivors include: a son, Robert Shane Griffen, Wichita; four stepsons, Butch, Robert, Don and Jonathan Morris, all of Wichita; two stepdaughters, Virginia and Tina Morris; parents, Wichita; a sister, Brenda L. Witt, San Dimas, Calif.; grandmother, Erma Fox, Waynoka, Okla.; and 10 grandchildren.
Funeral will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, at Grace United Methodist Church, Wichita. Graveside service will be 3 p.m. Friday in Bluff City Cemetery, Bluff City. Williams Funeral Home, Anthony, is in charge of arrangements.
Junea L. Vogel Russell
WEST COVINA, Calif. - Junea L. Vogel Russell, 90, died May 21, 2000, at West Covina.
She was born Jan. 14, 1910, at Sterling, the daughter of Charles and Emma Vogel. She graduated from Sterling High School and attended Sterling College. A longtime California resident, she had been a food service director in the Covina schools.
She married
Harold Russell at Sterling. He preceded her in death.
Survivors include: three daughters; and two sisters, Charlotte McCrum, and Mildred Wilkey, both of Sterling.
She was preceded in death by a son, two sisters and four brothers.
Graveside services were held in West Covina May 30.
Oakdale Mortuary, Glendora, Calif., was in charge of arrangements.
John J. Ratzlaff
DODGE CITY - John J. Ratzlaff, 80, died May 30, 2000, at Western Plains Regional Hospital, Dodge City.
He was born March 27, 1920, at Cimarron, the son of Andrew B. and Helena "Lena" Koehn. He attended Cimarron Public Schools. He was a farmer, employee of Broce-O'Dell Concrete, Dodge City, worked as a heavy equipment operator for the Kansas Department of Transportation, and was a Veteran of the U. S. Army, serving in World War II in the European Theater, recieving a Purple Heart, a Good Conduct Medal, the Bronze Star Arrowhead, and the EAME Ribbon.
He belonged to First Missionary Church and Senior Friends, both of Dodge City.
On Dec. 15, 1945, he married
Betty J. Peaster at Cimarron. She died April 7, 2000.
Survivors include: a son, Rodney D., Dodge City, daughter, Linda Martin, Ensign; eight grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.
Funeral will be 10 a.m. Saturday at First Missionary Church, Dodge City, with the Rev. Wilbert Nelson presiding. Friends may call noon to 8 p.m. today, and 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Friday at Swaim Funeral Home, Dodge City. Burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery, Dodge City, with military graveside rites by Howard Gotschall Post No. 1714, VFW, Dodge City.

Earl Wineinger
MARION - Earl Wineinger, 62, died May 30, 2000, at St. Luke Hospital, Marion.
He was born April 23, 1938, at Norwich, the son of Walter and Lillie Wineinger. A teacher, he was currently the Vo Ag instructor at Hillsboro High School, and had formerly taught in Florence and in Marion. A longtime Marion resident, he had also lived in Manhattan, where he served as executive secretary of the state FFA at KSU; and in Alexandria, Va., where he worked in the National FFA Office.
He was a member of Florence Christian Church, KVA, NEA, KVATA, and was an FFA Alumni.
On July 15, 1962, he married
Mary Lee Freeborn at Florence. She survives.
Other survivors include: two sons, Matt, Wichita, and Ron, Fort Collins, Colo.; a daughter, Robin Richmond, Marion; a brother, Max Wineinger, Norwich; a sister, Fern Davis, Norwich; and four grandchildren.
Funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the Christian Church, Florence, with the Rev. Harold Brown presiding. Friends may call from 1 to 8 p.m. Friday at Zeiner Funeral Home, Marion, with the family present for friends from 4 to 5:30 p.m. Private family burial will be in Hillcrest Cemetery, Florence.

Berton L. 'Pete' Swank
OSBORNE - Berton L. "Pete" Swank, 79, died May 30, 2000, at his home.
He was born March 12, 1921, in rural Osborne County, the son of E.C. and Nellie Atkison Swank. He graduated from Gaylord High School and attended Fort Hays State University. He operated Swank-Standley Motors for 50 years.
He attended the United Methodist Church and served in many civic capacities - chamber of commerce, school board, hospital board - and helped develop Parkview Rest Home. He was an Army Air Corps test pilot in England during World War II.
Survivors include: his wife Betty, of the home; two daughters, Kaye Schwartz, Buhler, and Nancy Keith, WaKeeney; a sister, Lucille Post, Smith Center; and four grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by four brothers, three sisters, and a grandson.
Funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at United Methodist Church, Osborne. Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. today and 9 a.m. to service time Friday at Clark-Gashaw Mortuary, Osborne. Burial, with military honors, will be in Osborne Cemetery.

Robert A. Vieyra
JUNCTION CITY - Robert A. Vieyra, 46, died May 29, 2000, at Geary Community Hospital.
He was born Oct. 25, 1953, at Larned, the son of Pasqual and Basilia Chavez Vieyra. He attended school in Larned.
Survivors include: five brothers, Ricardo, Junction City, Benny, La Crosse, Joe, Larned, Alex and Francisco, both Hutchinson; four sisters, Sanjuana Castor, Schaumburg, Ill., Julia Castaneda, Lewis, Abby Perez and Frances Eargood, both of Larned.
He was preceded in death by his father; a brother, Luz, and a sister, Bernadine Rickman.
Funeral will be at 11 a.m. today at St. Xavier Catholic Church, Junction City, with Father Al Brungardt presiding. Friends may call from 9 to 10:30 a.m. today at the church. Cremation is planned. Inurnment will be at a later time in Larned.

Ruth Fenton Dutton
ROGERS, Ark. - Ruth Fenton Dutton, 96, former Hutchinson resident, died May 29, 2000, at her home in Rogers.
She was born March 5, 1904, in McPherson County, the daughter of James and Mary Ratliff Hart. A longtime resident of Hutchinson, she had moved to Arkansas in 1996. She was a homemaker.
She belonged to Eastwood Church of Christ, Hutchinson.
On June 14, 1925, she married
James L. Fenton at St. John. He died Nov. 9, 1979. On Nov. 23, 1982, she married
Robert R. Dutton at Miami, Okla. He died May 19, 1984.
Survivors include: two sons, Ervin, Largo, Fla., and Don, Rogers, Ark.; a daughter, Norma Gibson, Rogers; 10 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by six brothers and sisters.
Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Elliott Mortuary Chapel, Hutchinson, with David Tappe presiding. Friends may call from 5 to 9 p.m. today at the mortuary. Burial will be in Fairlawn Burial Park, Hutchinson.
