Robert M. Eisele
SUBLETTE - Robert M. Eisele, 85, died March 27, 2000, at Mercy Regional Medical Center, Laredo, Texas.
He was born Feb. 15, 1915, at Eudora, the son of Alfred and Emma Hornberger Eisele. He moved to Arizona in 1965 from Sublette. He moved to San Ygnacio, Texas, after retiring. He farmed in Sublette.
He belonged to Christian Church, Sublette, where he was deacon and elder for several years, and the King's Way Fellowship Church, Zapata, Texas. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II.
On May 6, 1939, he married Mary Lou Lucas at Paducah, Ky. She survives.
Other survivors include: a son, Hayward, Montrose, Colo.; a daughter, Roberta Trahern, Sublette; a brother, Clifford, Lenexa; six grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Delbert.
Funeral will be at 7 p.m. Thursday at King's Way Fellowship Church, Zapata, Texas. Military graveside services by Sublette American Legion Post No. 205 will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday in Haskell County Cemetery, Sublette, with the Rev. Roger Miller presiding.
Haskell County Funeral Home, Sublette, is in charge of arrangements.

Robert Frank 'Bob' Helfrich
SYRACUSE - Robert Frank "Bob" Helfrich, 48, died March 26, 2000, as the result of injuries sustained in an auto accident in rural Coolidge.
He was born Aug. 13, 1951, at Syracuse, the son of Fred and Virginia H. Wilt Helfrich. He graduated from Coolidge High School in 1969, attended Fort Hays State University and graduated from Kansas State University in 1973. A lifetime Coolidge resident, he was a farmer, part owner of Coolidge Dairy and traded commodities.
He attended St. Raphael Catholic Church, Syracuse.
On Aug. 15, 1992, he married Tish Huser at Las Vegas, Nev. She survives.
Other survivors include: two sons, Jesse and Nicholas, both of Syracuse; a daughter, Alexandra Helfrich, Syracuse; a brother, Dick, Coolidge; and two sisters, Nancy McBride, Holcomb, and Peggy Helfrich, Nashville, Tenn.
He was preceded in death by a brother, John "Jack;" and a sister, Judy Helfrich.
Vigil service will be at 7 p.m. MT today at St. Raphael's Catholic Church, Syracuse. Funeral mass will be at 10 a.m. MT Wednesday at Coolidge High School Gym, Coolidge, with Father Mike Helms presiding. Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. MT today at Greene-Fellers Funeral Home, Syracuse. Burial will be in Syracuse Cemetery.
Memorials may be sent to the Helfrich Children Education Fund at First National Bank, Syracuse, in care of the funeral home.

Eula Mae Jones
ELLINWOOD - Eula Mae Jones, 84, died March 26, 2000, at Sterling House, Great Bend.
She was born March 12, 1916, at Daisey, Okla., the daughter of Charles and Phoebe Beatrice Berneathy Barker. An Ellinwood resident since 1945, she lived in Great Bend for the past two months. She was a retired licensed practical nurse and was employed by Central Kansas Medical Center, Great Bend, and Ellinwood District Hospital.
She belonged to Cornerstone Fellowship of Great Bend, Order of Eastern Star, was a 1965 Worthy Matron, Ellinwood, and Women's Aglow.
On Aug. 28, 1945, she married Arley Willard Jones at Fort Smith, Ark. He survives.
Other survivors include: three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two daughters, Judy Brooks and Patsy Anderson; a brother, Benjamin; three sisters, Helen Goodspeed, Catherine Elizabeth Livingston, and Cora Barker; and a granddaughter.
Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Cornerstone Fellowship, Great Bend, with the Rev. Curtis Reinhart presiding. Calling times will be from 3 to 8 p.m. today at Kimple Funeral Home, Ellinwood. Burial will be in Lakin-Comanche District Cemetery, Ellinwood.
Memorials may be sent to Golden Belt Home Health & Hospice, Cornerstone Fellowship, or Masonic Oncology Program in care of the funeral home.

Louis Miller
HOLCOMB - Louis Miller, 80, died March 24, 2000, at Garden Valley Retirement Village, Garden City.
He was born Sept. 28, 1918, at White, Okla., the son of William and JoAnn Meyers Miller. A Holcomb resident since 1990, moving from Benton, Ark., he was a former lathe operator for a furniture manufacturing company.
In June 1942, he married Agnis Wootten at Hot Springs, Ark. She died Oct. 29, 1989.
Survivors include: two sons, James E., Garden City, and Louis A., Scottsdale, Ariz.; a daughter, Crissie L. Brunson, Holcomb; 16 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.
Graveside services were held Monday in Valley View Cemetery, Garden City, with the Rev. Randy Caddell presiding.
Price & Sons Funeral Home, Garden City, was in charge of arrangements.

Peter A. Wittman
GARDEN CITY - Peter A. Wittman, 92, died March 24, 2000, at his home.
He was born Dec. 29, 1907, at Victoria, the son of Alexander and Elizabeth Kreutzer Wittman. He graduated from Park High School and attended business college. A Garden City resident since 1958, he was an accountant and office manager with Garden City Sale Co. Inc., for 26 years.
He belonged to St. Dominic's Catholic Church, the Knights of Columbus, Sunrisers Kiwanis Club, and the Harry H. Renick American Legion Post No. 9. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II.
On Aug. 11, 1946, he married Frances M. Heydman at Enid, Okla. She died Jan. 11, 1996.
Survivors include: two sons, Anthony, Olathe, and Joseph, Topeka; and seven grandchildren.
Vigil service will be at 6:30 p.m. today at Garnand Funeral Home, Garden City. Funeral Mass will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. Dominic Catholic Church, Garden City, with Father Joseph Bahr presiding. Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home. Burial will be in Valley View Cemetery, Garden City.
Memorials may be sent to the American Heart Association or to Special Olympics, both in care of the funeral home.

Everett James Oller
PRESTON - Everett James Oller, 83, died March 26, 2000, at his home.
He was born Oct. 22, 1916, at Cairo, the son of Arthur James and Lillie Bell Greene Oller. A Preston resident since 1973, moving from Colorado, he was a retired night foreman for Frier & Stillman Packing Co., Denver.
On March 23, 1939, he married Helen M. Looney at Medicine Lodge. She survives.
Other survivors include: two sons, Joe, Arvada, Colo., and Bob, Wheatridge, Colo.; three daughters, Barbara Woodard, Broomfield, Colo., and Janice Vincel and Pam Parks, both of Northglenn, Colo.; a sister, Pearl Wilcox, Pratt; 12 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by three brothers, Alva, Bill and Orville; and five sisters, Della Rexroat, Edith Crisler, Ormalee Briggeman, Alma Oller and Maxine Brown.
Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Assembly of God Church, Pratt, with Pastor Rick Burwick presiding. Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. today and Wednesday at Larrison Mortuary, Pratt. Burial will be in Iuka Cemetery, Iuka.
Memorials may be sent to South Wind Hospice, in care of the mortuary.

Jacob 'Jake' Long Jr.
RANSOM - Jacob "Jake" Long Jr., 88, died March 26, 2000, at Trego-Lemke Memorial Hospital, WaKeeney.
He was born Feb. 25, 1912, at Sharbakowk, Russia, the son of Jacob Sr. and Lydia Kraft Long. He came to the U.S. in 1915 and had been a resident of Ransom since 1927. He was a farm laborer for most of his life and an employee of Ransom Farmers Co-op.
He belonged to the Lutheran Church and Veterans of Foreign Wars, Ransom. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II.
Survivors include: a brother, Fred, Larned; and three sisters, Alvana Elrod, Medford, Ore., Mary Craig, Russell, and Lillian Skinner, Dallas.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Carl and Victor; and a sister, Hilda Long.
Memorial graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Ransom Cemetery, with the Rev. Bruce Ferguson presiding. The body was cremated.
Memorials may be sent to the Lolita Schwartzkopf Fund, in care of Fitzgerald Funeral Home, Ness City.

Dwight Goodman
JOHNSON - Dwight Goodman, 75, died March 27, 2000, at Stanton County Long Term Care Unit, Johnson.
Funeral arrangements are pending and will be announced by Garnand Funeral Home, Johnson.

Howard Dean Thompson
SALINA - Howard Dean Thompson, 80, died March 25, 2000, at Shalimar Health Center, Salina.
He was born April 3, 1919, at Alliance, Neb. A Salina resident since 1993, moving from Christian County, Mo., he was a tool and die designer for General Dynamics, Pomona, Calif., retiring in 1982.
He belonged to Sojourners Travel Group, working missions with the Church of Christ.
On June 7, 1941, he married Eleanor L. Thompson at Little Rock, Ark. She survives.
Other survivors include: two sons, Fred D., Corona Delmar, Calif., and Brock H., Salina; four daughters, Sharrel A. Allen, Kansas City, Mo., Barbara L. Hedding, Salina, Iris E. Kline, Dodge City, and Tamara S. Watts, Waconia, Minn.; a sister, Virginia Boyle, Portland, Ore.; 12 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. today at Roselawn Heights Memorial Chapel, Salina, with Jimmie Keas officiating. There will be no visitation. Inurnment will be in Roselawn Memorial Park, Salina.
Memorials may be sent to Church of Christ, Salina, in care of Roselawn Mortuary, Salina.
