PEABODY - Gloria J. Young, 48, died March 26, 2000, at her home.
She was born Sept. 18, 1951, at Anniston, Ala., the daughter of William A. and Irma Z. Johnson Evans. A resident of Peabody, she worked for 26 years for GTE Telephone in Florida.
She was a member of First Baptist Church, Haines City, Fla.
On Feb. 14, 1969, she married
Roy Young Jr. at Haines City. He survives.
Other survivors include: a son, Christopher Young, Peabody; two brothers, Douglas Evans, Ragland, Ala., and Johnny Evans, Haines City; five sisters, Helen Alderman, Las Vegas, Shirley Crawford and Sarah Marshall, both of Lakeland, Fla., Edna Dills, Winter Haven, Fla., and Evelyn Lee, Chatsworth, Calif.; and two grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and three brothers, Charles A., Jerry W. and William H. Evans.
Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Peabody United Methodist Church, with Pastor Dave Randall presiding. Visitation will be from 1 to 9 p.m. today at Petersen Funeral Home, Newton. Burial will be in Prairie Lawn Cemetery, Peabody.

Virginia Cain
STERLING - Virginia Cain, 79, died March 27, 2000, at Lyons District Hospital, Lyons.
She was born Sept. 17, 1920, at Pratt, the daughter of Frank and Ethel Kilgore Detwiler. A resident of Sterling since 1941, she was a homemaker and retired waitress at the Sterling Cafe, Sterling.
She was a member of the American Legion Women's Auxiliary, Sterling.
On Feb. 24, 1938, she married
Marvin Elliott Cain at Kingman. He died March 30, 1994.
Survivors include: four sons, Marvin Eugene, Boone, Colo., Frank, Sterling, Dan, Lyons, and Dennis, Fayetteville, N.C.; six daughters, Gwen Walker, Judy Rose and Deena Groth, all of Sterling, and Dinah Fulton, Betty Boltz and Candy Woodard, all of Hutchinson; two brothers, Robert Detwiler, Pratt, and Wendell Detwiler, Enid, Okla.; a sister, Nadine Malan, Ventura, Calif.; 30 grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren.
Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at United Methodist Church, Sterling, with the Revs. James Graves and Glen Holman presiding. Burial will be in Lerado Cemetery, rural Pretty Prairie.

Vera F. Lundblade
GARDEN CITY - Vera F. Lundblade, 95, died March 26, 2000, at Parklane Nursing Home, Scott City.
She was born May 16, 1904, at Glad, the daughter of John W. and Maude Mitchell Wigton. A resident of Scott City since 1996, moving from Tribune, she was a restaurant cook.
In 1924, she married
Fred Lundblade. He died in 1958.
Survivors include: a son, Fred Jr., Stoutland, Mo.; two daughters, Pat Barker, Garden City, and Frances McGraw, Anthony; three brothers, Albert Wigton, Denver, Orvil Wigton, Brazlton, and Wilson Wigton, Columbus; a sister, Pearl Clark, Columbus; 35 grandchildren; and numerous great- and great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by three sons, Wayne, John and Charles; two daughters, Nellie Walker and Shirley Sager; and seven brothers and sisters.
Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Friday in Valley View Cemetery, Garden City, with the Rev. Robert Nuckolls presiding. Friends may meet at Price & Sons Funeral Home, Garden City, at 1:45 p.m. Friday to go to the cemetery. Calling times will be from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. today at Price & Sons Funeral Home, Scott City, and 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday and 9 a.m. until service time Friday, both at the funeral home in Garden City.

Wilbur Dwight Goodman
JOHNSON - Wilbur Dwight Goodman, 74, died March 27, 2000, at Stanton County Long Term Care Unit, Johnson.
He was born May 18, 1925, at Beeler, the son of Elbert and Olive Hills Goodman. A resident of Johnson since 1963, he was owner and operator of Goodman Garage until his retirement in 1989.
He was a member of the Lucky 4 Square Dance Club, the Happy Campers Motor Club, and Masonic Lodge A.F. & A.M., Johnson.
On Nov. 18, 1950, he married
Della Lea Goodman at Wellington. She died May 19, 1999.
Survivors include: four sons, Eric Dwight, Gaston, S.C., Alan T., Pratt, Barry D., Johnson, and Colin S., Sterling; two brothers, Dean, Benton, and Elgin, Nardin, Okla.; a sister, Neva Dodson, Arkansas City; six grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.
Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Garnand Funeral Home Chapel, Johnson, with the Rev. Dave Kaufmann presiding. Friends may call from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. today and 10 a.m. to noon Thursday at the funeral home. Cremation will follow services.

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. - Rita Lucille Overbey, 80, died March 27, 2000, at her home in Fayetteville.
She was born Sept. 27, 1919, at Chase, the daughter of James and Matilda Robinson Sinnettt.
In 1944, she married
Raymond Overbey.
Survivors include: three sons; five daughters, including Cecilia Carpinelli, Atchison; four sisters, including Sister Margaret Sinnett, Wichita, and Margaret Duncan, Cimarron; and 16 grandchildren.
Rosary will be at 7 p.m. today at Beard's Chapel, Fayetteville. Funeral Mass will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Fayetteville. Burial will be in Blackwell Cemetery, Blackwell, Okla.
Georgiann Martinez
DODGE CITY - Georgiann Martinez, 49, died March 26, 2000, at Western Plains Regional Hospital, Dodge City.
She was born May 15, 1950, at Dodge City, the daughter of Joseph D. and Sophia "Rosie" Espinoza Blea. She attended Dodge City schools and graduated from Dodge City High School in 1968. She worked as a maid for the Golden Bell Motel in Dodge City.
She belonged to Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, Dodge City.
She married
Vincent Q. Martinez at Dodge City. He survives.
Other survivors include: her parents, of Dodge City; two sons, Lance Guillen, Dodge City, and Richard Guillen, Misawa, Japan; three daughters, Preci Amara, Gaylia Guillen and Petra Guillen, all of Dodge City; five brothers, David A. Blea, Elkhart, Ind., Donald E. Blea, Oceanside, Calif., Ronald R. Blea, Dallas, William L. Blea, El Paso, and Theodore J. Blea, Dodge City; a sister, Christine Conley, Dodge City; and 10 grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son, Emidio in 1985, and a brother, Mark A. Blea, in 1999.
Vigil service will be at 8 p.m. today at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. Funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the church, with the Rev. Ted Skalsky presiding. Richard James Jones
WICHITA - Richard James Jones, 90, died March 25, 2000, at Payson, Ariz.
He was born June 4, 1909, at Hutchinson, the son of William F. and Maude E. Foster Jones. He was a resident of Payson, Ariz., for five years, formerly of Wichita. He was a dishwasher at Lockheed Aircraft Co. in California, and at Pratt Elks Lodge. He retired in 1962 from Boeing and the Eagle Beacon, Wichita, having worked as an editorial copy boy and Beacon advertising runner, and at Boeing machine shop.
He belonged to Payson Christian Church, Payson.
Survivors include: nephews and nieces, including Karellen Larrison and Dan Blankenship, both of Pratt, and EJ McGuire, Zenda; and five grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two sisters, Leona Blankenship and Louise McGuire.
Graveside services will be at 1:30 p.m. Thursday in Greenlawn Cemetery, Pratt, with the Rev. Kendal Utt presiding. Calling times will be from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. today and 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Thursday at Larrison Mortuary, Pratt.

William Felix Belanger
GREAT BEND - William Felix Belanger, 74, died March 27, 2000, at Great Bend.
He was born Feb. 24, 1926, the son of Felix and Florence Alfoncine Baker Belanger. He was a high school graduate and longtime Great Bend resident. He was a blackjack dealer and chef at restaurants in Las Vegas.
He was of the Catholic faith and served with the U.S. Army.
Survivors include: two sisters, Marie Ruiter, Barstow, Calif., and Connie Creel, Sun City, Calif.
He was preceded in death by three brothers, Leonard, Louis and Joseph; and two sisters, Katherine Osbourn and Lea Temple.
Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday in Golden Belt Cemetery, Great Bend, with Father Charles Mazouch presiding. Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. today and 9 a.m. to noon Thursday at Fryberger Mortuary, Great Bend.

ULYSSES - Gladys O. Layton, 84, died March 28, 2000, at Western Prairie Care Home, Ulysses.
She was born May 20, 1915, near Durant, Okla., the daughter of John and Lema Cassidy Dill. A resident of Grant County since 1952, she was a homemaker.
She belonged to Shelton Memorial Christian Church, Ulysses.
On Sept. 17, 1939, she married
Ned K. Layton at Sayre, Okla. He died Dec. 28, 1991.
Survivors include: a son, John, Independence; two daughters, Ginger Anthony, Ulysses, and Jeanie Allen, Garden City; two sisters, Ruth Wiley, Wheeler, Texas, and Jeanie Parks, Roulette, Texas; eight grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by four brothers, Carl, Clarence, Earl and J.M. Dill; and two sisters, Icie Jennings and Annie Dill.
