Jack Keith Slemp
MOSCOW - Jack Keith Slemp, 71, died March 27, 2000, at Satanta Long Term Care Unit, Satanta.
He was born May 29, 1928, at Moscow, the son of Orval Lee and Leola Fay Henderson Slemp. A lifelong Moscow resident, he worked for the City of Moscow and owned a custom hay business.
In 1955, he married
Jo Ann Tilford at Clayton, N.M.
Survivors include: three sons, Keith Jr., Campo, Colo., Roy, Anchorage, Alaska, and Kevin, Moscow; three sisters, Judy Cantrell, Moscow, Nancy Olinger, Hugoton, and Marilyn Kapp, Yukon, Okla.; and six grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a brother, James; and a sister, Gwendolyn Burgess.
Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Friday at United Methodist Church, Moscow, with the Revs. Josue Mora and Larry Bradford presiding. Burial will be in Moscow Cemetery.

Marion G. 'Papa' Bourell
Marion G. "Papa" Bourell, 74, died March 26, 2000, at Hutchinson Hospital.
He was born May 25, 1925, at Sterling, the son of Clyde O. and Hattie Ingle Bourell. A Hutchinson resident for 70 years, moving from Sterling, he was the former owner and operator of Bourell's Floors Inc. at Hutchinson, retiring after 50 years.
He had been a leader in Hutchinson's building and construction industry for 50 years. Marion was integral in furnishing fine flooring for both residential and commercial projects. Because of his expertise and longevity in the building of Hutchinson from the 1940s to the '90s, Marion was known as an "encyclopedia of floor covering" in the Hutchinson and central Kansas area.
Marion made many friends during his 50-year tenure as president of Bourell's Floors. He was respected and admired for his knowledge, fairness and ability to lead his company and family his entire adult life. Marion was known to be totally unselfish. He gave of himself to friends and family. He was always available to help anyone who was in need. He is loved and missed by everyone.
He belonged to St. Teresa's Catholic Church, was secretary of Caring and Sharing Grandparents, was active in Boy Scouts, and was a former member of the Hutchinson Chamber of Commerce and the Hutchinson Homebuilders Association. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps during World War II.
On May 11, 1945, he married
Betty Jean Hall at Hutchinson. She survives.
Other survivors include: a son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Kathy Bourell, Hutchinson; a daughter, Barbara Bourell, Hutchinson; a brother, Kenneth Bourell, Hutchinson; two sisters, Helen Huffman, Jackson, Miss., and Opal Mouser, Alice, Texas; five grandchildren, Ryan Bourell, Hays, Kansas, Jason Bourell, Joshua Bourell, Melody Bourell and Holdon Bourell, all of Hutchinson; a great-grandchild, Kyler Bourell, Hutchinson; and several nieces and nephews.
Parish rosary was held at 6 p.m. Tuesday at Johnson & Sons Funeral Home Memorial Chapel, Hutchinson, Kansas, with Father Richard F. Stuchlik presiding. Funeral will be at 11 a.m. today at Johnson & Sons Memorial Chapel, Hutchinson. Friends may call from 8 a.m. until service time today at the funeral home. Burial, with military honors conducted by a Marine Corps honor guard from Wichita, will be in Fairlawn Burial Park, Hutchinson.

Gloria Dean Cline
COLDWATER - Gloria Dean Cline, 76, died March 28, 2000, at her home.
She was born April 4, 1923, in rural Haven, the daughter of Fay Willard and Vertie Marie Boughner Wilson. She graduated from Antrim High School, rural Stafford County, in 1941 and Salt City Business College, Hutchinson. A longtime resident of the Coldwater area, she was a retired deputy county clerk for Comanche County of 20 years.
She was a member of First Christian Church, Coldwater, where she was pianist for many years, and several Bible study and civic clubs in Coldwater.
On June 19, 1943, she married
James Russell "Junior" Cline at Greensburg. He survives.
Other survivors include: a daughter, Rhonda Nickel, Coldwater; a brother, Charles Wilson, Odessa, Texas; a sister, Carmen Ivy, Kimberling City, Mo.; and two grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son, Russell Fay Cline.
Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Friday at First Christian Church, Coldwater, with the Rev. Mike Elrod presiding. Burial will follow the service in Crown Hill Cemetery, Coldwater. Calling times will be from 1 to 8 p.m. Thursday and 9 to 11 a.m. Friday at Hatfield-Prusa Funeral Home, Coldwater.

Geraldine A. McCoy
Geraldine A. McCoy, 57, died Mar. 27, 2000, at Hutchinson Hospital.
She was born Aug. 16, 1942, at Jeffersonville, Ind. the daughter of Andrew and Virginia Sigwald Hershey. A former resident of Junction City, where she was a driver for Bell Taxi, and an employee of P. J. 's Restaurant, she had lived in Hutchinson since 1998.
Survivors include: two sons, George, McPherson, and Thomas, of Manhattan; four daughters, Linda Shields, Hutchinson, Teresa Andrews, Panama City, Fla., Elaine Bonner, Oklahoma City, and Deanna Magkins, Junction City; three brothers, Thomas, Hershey, Oak Creek, Wisc., Andrew Hershey, Frankfort, Ky., and Michael Hershey, Riverview, Mich.; two sisters, Dorothy Burns, Pee Wee Valley, Ky., and Minnie Age, Clarksville, Ind.; and 20 grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Pete Hershey.
Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, at Heritage Funeral Home Chapel, Hutchinson, with Chaplain Fred Obold presiding. Friends may call from noon to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home. Burial will be in Fairlawn Burial Park.
Robert Frederick Richter
PRATT - Robert Frederick Richter, 73, died March 25, 2000, at his home.
He was born June 1, 1926, at Emporia, the son of Frederick W. and Edith M. Chisholm Richter. A resident of Pratt, he was a retired territory salesman for Firestone Tire and Rubber Company.
He was a member of Pratt Presbyterian Church, Rotary Club, Midian Shrine, Wichita, Masonic Lodge A.F. & A.M., Emporia, and Scottish Rite, Topeka, and was board member of R.S.V.P. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II.
On Oct. 19, 1952, he married
Mary Helen Carr at Kansas City, Kan. She survives.
Other survivors include: three sons, Robert Scott, Spokane, Wash., Craig Alan, Pratt, and Bradley Dean, Wichita; and two grandchildren.
Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. today at Pratt Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Thomas D. Sutter presiding. There will be no calling times as cremation has taken place.

Lena Lee Mobley
ENSIGN - Lena Lee Mobley, 92, died March 27, 2000, at Dodge City Good Samaritan Center, Dodge City.
She was born Dec. 2, 1907, at Gray, Okla., the daughter of Benjamin and Eula Lucinda Wright Harris. She moved to Ensign in Nov. 1998 from Lamar, Colo. She owned and operated an apartment building and taught second grade and special education in Wiley Consolidated School Systems in Lamar.
She was a member of American Association of University Women and Fort Nightly Club.
On Jan. 21, 1932, she married
John Mobley at Meeker, Colo. He died Dec. 27, 1960.
Survivors include: a son, John Francis Mobley, Ensign; a daughter, Sydney Thornton, Colfax, Calif.; and two step grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Floyd Harris.
The body was cremated in Dodge City.
Montezuma Funeral Home, Montezuma, was in charge of arrangements.

Donald E. Ratzlaff
BURRTON - Donald E. Ratzlaff, 68, died March 28, 2000, at Halstead Hospital.
He was born Feb. 4, 1932, at Burrton, the son of Abraham G. and Della Luginbill Ratzlaff. He was retired from the military, having served in the U. S. Army for 20 years. He was also a retired Burrton Township and city of Burrton employee.
He belonged to American Legion Post No. 369, at Burrton, and Loyal Order of the Moose No. 982, at Hutchinson. He was a veteran of the Korean and Vietnam Wars.
On Jan. 7, 1956, he married
Virginia Ruth Martin at Halstead. She survives.
Other survivors include: two sons, Larry, Norristown, Pa., and David, Burrton; a daughter, Kasandra Morrison, South Hutchinson; a sister, Delite Regier, Buhler; and five grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Richard and Charles.
Graveside service will be at 2 p.m. Friday in the Burrton Cemetery, with the Rev. Robert Walter presiding. Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. today at Kaufman Funeral Home, Halstead, with the family present to greet friends from 6:30 to 8 p.m.

Jason Leroy Creamer
DODGE CITY - Jason Leroy Creamer, 19, died March 28, 2000, at Via Christi Regional Medical Center, St. Francis Campus, Wichita.
He was born Aug. 7, 1980, at Dodge City, the son of Michael and Jane Dome Creamer. A lifetime resident of Dodge City, he was a 1999 graduate of Dodge City High School.
He belonged to Sacred Heart Cathedral, Dodge City.
Survivors include: his parents, of Dodge City; a brother, Michael Thomas Jr., of the home; paternal grandparents, Tom and Pat Creamer, Dodge City; maternal grandparents, LeRoy and Regina Dome, Dodge City; and great-grandmother, Irene McCune, Fort. Dodge.
Vigil service will be at 7 p.m. Friday at Swaim Funeral Home, Dodge City. Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Sacred Heart Cathedral, Dodge City, with the Rev. John R. Strasser presiding. Friends may call from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery, Dodge City.
