Bill E. Seal
ATTICA - Bill E. Seal, 63, died Jan. 13, 2001, at his daughter's home at Derby.
He was born June 26, 1937, at Anthony, the son of Delbert E. and Maxine Silcott Seal. A Derby resident since 1967, having lived and worked there until his retirement, and recently moving to Anthony, he was a middle school teacher.
He belonged to First Christian Church, Derby, where he served as a deacon and elder for many years, and the Attica Christian Church, was on the Attica City Council and worked and volunteered in numerous capacities in the community.
On March 28, 1959, he married Judy Ann Brown at Attica. She survives.
Other survivors include: a son, Kevin, Derby; a daughter, Teri Kersting, Derby; two brothers, Paul, Clearwater, and Jerry, Haysville; a sister, Betty Hughbanks, Wichita; and five grandchildren.
Funeral will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at First Christian Church, Derby, with Pastor Gordon Souder presiding. Burial will be at 3:30 p.m. Wednesday in Attica Cemetery. Smith Mortuary, Derby, is in charge of arrangements.

Mark A. Feckner
NEWTON - Mark A. Feckner, 45, died Jan. 13, 2001, 3/4 mile west of highway 15 on N.E. 60th, Newton.
He was born May 28, 1955, at Duluth, Minn., the son of Donald Sr., and Lucy G. Carl Feckner. He was a graduate of Central High School, Duluth. He was a former truck driver and had been an assistant supervisor in the Trusa Department for Idaho Timber for the past 10 years.
He was a member of the VFW and the American Legion. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam War.
Survivors include: his parents, Newton; three daughters, Melissa Feckner and Sarah Feckner, both of Newton, and Amber Ogeay, Grand Fork, N.D.; a brother, Don Jr., Newton; two sisters, Connie Boese, Goessel, and Wendy Ross, Council Grove; grandmother, Jennie Carl, Duluth, Minn.; and mother of Melissa and Sarah, Bonnie Pierce, Newton.
Memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, at First Baptist Church, Newton, with the Rev. Frank Birch presiding. Friends may sign the register from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. today and 9 a.m. to noon Wednesday, at Broadway Colonial Funeral Home, Newton.
Memorials may be sent to VFW Post No. 971, in care of the funeral home.

Kay Robert 'Bob' Choitz
Kay Robert "Bob" Choitz, 65, died Jan 13, 2001, at Hutchinson Hospital.
He was born April 15, 1935, at Ellsworth, the son of Arthur Herman Albert and Louisa Rosa Frieda Bender Choitz. He was a 1953 graduate of Ellsworth High School, and a 1984 graduate of Wichita State University. A Hutchinson resident for two years, moving from Great Bend, he was a retired mechanical engineer with the oil industry.
He belonged to Immanuel Lutheran Church, Ellsworth, and was a member of Elks BPO Lodge No. 1127, Great Bend, and was an RSVP volunteer driver. He was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran of the Korean War.
Survivors include: two sons, Kyle R., Arlington, and Scott A., Green Bay, Wis.; a daughter, Vikki R. Wilke, Green Bay, Wis.; three brothers, Lee, San Juan Capistrano, Calif., Ernie, Carrollton, Texas, and Richard, Derby; two sisters, Bev Doughtery, Sanford, Fla., and Linda Epley, Canyon Lake, Texas; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Ruth Choitz.
Memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Ellsworth, with the Rev. Gary Wolf presiding. Friends may sign the book from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. today and Wednesday at Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson. Burial will be in Ellsworth Cemetery.
Memorials may be sent to the Immanuel Lutheran Church, Ellsworth, in care of the mortuary.

Freda Mae Flaming
COLBY - Freda Mae Flaming, 93, died Jan. 10, 2001, at Colby.
She was born June 10, 1907, at Medford, Okla., the daughter of Tobias and Elizabeth Warkentin Schmidt. A Colby resident since 1998, formerly of Newton and Goessel, she was employed in housekeeping at Bethel Deaconess Hospital, Newton, retiring in 1969.
On Aug. 17, 1930, she married H.G. Flaming at rural Medford. He died March 26, 1999.
Survivors include: two daughters, Leona Ruth Siebert, Colby, and Alice Illene Schmidt, Hesston; four grandchildren; 15 great-grandhcildren; two step-grandchildren; and four step-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by three brothers, Albert, Willie, and David; two sisters, Juanite Neufeld and Lorena Friesen; four half-brothers; and seven half-sisters, two grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.
Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Newton Bible Church, with Pastor Ted Veer presiding. Friends may call from 9 to 11 a.m. today, at Petersen Funeral Home, Newton. Burial will be in Restlawn Gardens of Memory, Newton.
Memorials may be sent to the church or to Gideons International, both in care of the funeral home.

Edward Andy Naugle
LARNED - Edward Andy Naugle, 71, died Jan. 15, 2001, at Central Kansas Medical Center, St. Joseph Campus, Larned.
He was born Feb. 5, 1929, at Nobel, Mo., the son of Orville and Helen Z. Bushong Naugle. A Larned resident since 1963, he was a laborer.
He was of the Christian faith.
On Dec. 10, 1949, he married Viola Mae Banes at Mountain Home, Ark. She died Jan. 31, 2000.
Survivors include: three sons, Charles, Larned, Michael, Garfield, and Joseph, Hutchinson; five daughters, Alice Marie Robison, Teresa Lynn Humphries and Brenda Louise Farmer, all of Larned, Wanda Gay McKenny, Hutchinson, and Shirley Ann Helms, Park; mother, Bixby, Okla.; two brothers, Ray, Bixby, Okla., and Rex, Joplin, Mo.; a sister, Bonnie May Harmen, Chaffee, Mo.; 23 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Ruth A. Whisnant.
Funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Morell Funeral Home, Larned, with Pastor Rick Clark presiding. Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Larned Cemetery.
Memorials may be sent to the American Diabetes Association, in care of the funeral home.

Edith Sooby
LARNED -Edith Sooby, 99, died Jan. 13, 2001, at Lincoln, Neb.
She was born April 30, 1901, in Pawnee County, the daughter of John Henry and Lucy Matilda Buhrer Hays. A Lincoln resident since 1989, formerly a long time Larned resident, she was a retired secretary and bookkeeper for the Presbyterian Church, Larned.
She belonged to the Presbyterian Church, was a member of the Order of Eastern Star, DAR, and the American Legion Auxiliary, all at Larned.
In 1920, she married Benjamin Harrison Sooby at Larned. He died March 5, 1954.
Survivors include: two sons, Ben Jr., Lincoln, Neb., and Dennis, Lawrence; a daughter, Evelyn Galliart, Colorado Springs, Colo.; two brothers, Jake Hays and Albert Hays, both of Zook; a sister, Goldie Horton, Zook; 13 grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a brother, William H. Hays.
Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at the Presbyterian Church, Larned, with the Rev. Jim Hawthorne presiding. Friends may call until 8 p.m. today and 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Beckwith Mortuary Chapel, Larned. Burial will be in Larned Cemetery.
Memorials may be sent to the Zook Community Building in care of the mortuary.

Hettie N. Rector
Hettie M. Rector, 93, died Jan. 14, 2001, at Hutchinson Hospital.
She was born Jan. 9, 1908, at Koshkonong, Mo., the daughter of James Leonard and Clara Emline Howell Batman. A Hutchinson resident since 1970, she was the retired owner of the Holiday Inn Hotel Restaurant, Grand Junction, Colo.
She belonged to First Baptist Church, Hutchinson.
In September 1975, she married A. V. Rector, at McPherson. He died July 13, 1993.
Survivors include: a brother, Floyd, Mesa, Ariz., a sister, Dolores Bagnall, Corpus Christi, Texas; and many nephews and nieces.
She was preceded in death by seven brothers and sisters.
Graveside service will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Thayer Cemetery, Thayer, Mo., with the Rev. Bill Banks presiding. Friends may call from noon to 9 p.m. today, at Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson.
Memorials may be sent to the First Baptist Church, in care of the mortuary.

Irene Hansen Jordan
KANSAS CITY, Kan. - Irene Hansen Jordan, 91, died Jan. 6, 2001, at Atlanta, Ga.
She was the sister of Joanne Geesling, Turon.
Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Porter Funeral Home, Kansas City, Kan.

Coral V. Kitch
Coral V. Kitch, 94, died Jan. 14, 2001, at the Good Samaritan Center, Hutchinson.
She was born Jan. 26, 1906, at Warrensburg, Ill., the daughter of William J. and Elizabeth M. Emerick Debo. A longtime Partridge resident, she was a graduate of Partridge High School. She was a cook for Partridge High School, summer cook for First Church of God Camp, Lake Afton, and a homemaker.
She belonged to Partridge Community Church, Rebekah Lodge, Extension Home Unit and volunteered for Community Chest, all at Partridge.
On June 22, 1929, she married Gaylord Kitch.
Survivors include: a son, Gaylord Dean Kitch, Partridge; a grandson; and two great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Wilburta Pike.
Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson, with Pastor Pamela J. Tinnin presiding. Friends may call from 2 to 9 p.m. today and 9 a.m. to service time Wednesday at the mortuary. Burial will be in Partridge Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to the Partridge Library, in care of the mortuary.
