HARPER - Gerald Walter, 60, died Dec. 23, 2004, at Wichita.
He was born Jan. 28, 1944, at Kingman. He worked at Boeing Aircraft, Wichita.
Survivors include: three sons, Michael, Tulsa, Okla., Scottie, Kingman, and Geoffrey, Haysville; two brothers, Loyd, Harper, and Loris West, Wichita; a sister Joyce Hix, Texas; and two grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a son, Jerry; and two sisters, Connie Town and Barbara Blanton.
Funeral service will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at Community Bible Church, Harper, with Pastor Bruce Gass presiding. Interment will be in Hunt Cemetery, Rago.

Elsie I. Miller
GREAT BEND - Elsie I. Miller, 93, died Dec. 24, 2004, at Central Kansas Medical Center, Great Bend.
She was born Dec. 31, 1910, at Ash Grove, the daughter of Harry O. and Irene Warren Horner. She was a homemaker.
She belonged to Community of Christ, Great Bend, the VFW Auxillary and to the Central Kansas Association of the Visually Impaired.
She married
Robert N. Miller April 1955, at San Antonio. He preceded her in death April 12, 1975.
Survivors include: two brothers, Ralph, Great Bend, and Everett, Goshen, Ind.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, Otto and Harry Horner.
Memorial service will be announced at a later date.

Arnold L. Meyer
LEOTI - Arnold L. Meyer, 71, died Dec. 23, 2004, at Wichita County Hospital, Leoti.
He was born Aug. 10, 1933, at Marienthal, the son of Karl and Mary Smith Meyer. A lifetime Wichita County resident, he was a farmer, custom cutter and salvage yard owner.
He belonged to St. Anthonyís Catholic Church, Leoti.
On July 14, 1953, he married
Dena Ingraham at Marienthal. She survives.
Other survivors include: two sons, Robert, Fort Collins, Colo., and John, Leoti; a daughter, Karen Ekhoff, Tribune; nine grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a son, Steven.
Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at St. Maryís Catholic Church, Marienthal, with Father Benjamin Martin presiding. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday at Price and Sons Funeral Home, Leoti. Interment will be in St. Maryís Cemetery, Marienthal.

Helen L. Broadfoot
ST. JOHN - Helen L. 'Mammy' Broadfoot, 85, died Dec. 23, 2004, at Lake Point, Wichita.
She was born Dec. 15, 1919, at Pitcher, Okla., the daughter of Orva and Pearl Floyd Miles. She attended schools in St. John and moved from St. John to Wichita in the 1960s. She was a licensed practical nurse, working in care homes in Wichita.
On Dec. 1, 1938, she married
Frank Broadfoot at Larned. He preceded her in death.
Survivors include two sons; eight grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son.
Graveside service will be 1 p.m. Monday at Fairview Park Cemetery, St. John with Pastor Kasey Crosby presiding. Visitation will be from 8 to 11 a.m. Monday at Minnis Chapel, St. John.
Minnis Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
Gladys W. Baker
ANTHONY - Gladys W. Baker, 87, died Dec. 23, 2004, at Attica.
She was born March 7, 1917, the daughter of M.A. and Amelia Zimmerman Troyer.
She belonged to Anthony Christian Church and Delta Kappa Gamma. She was a retired school teacher.
On July 27, 1947, she married
Glenn Baker at Harper.
Survivors include: two sisters, Nettie Yoder, Kingman, and Irene Nichols, Paola; and several nephews and nieces.
She was preceded in death by her husband; infant daughter, Amy Jo; two brothers, Ross and John Troyer; and three sisters, Beulah Troyer, Amy Mast and Amelia Marner.
Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Prairie Rose Funeral Home, Anthony. Visitation will be 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday and from 9 a.m. to service time Monday. Burial will be in Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Bluff City.

George L. Clark
FORT DODGE - George L. Clark, 82, died Dec. 23, 2004, at Kansas Soldiers Home, Fort Dodge.
He was born Nov. 12, 1922, at Schaberg, Ark., the son of John and Ruth Hooten Clark. A Fort Dodge resident since 2003, moving from Dodge City, he was a laboratory technician for Phillips Petroleum Co. for 15 years.
He belonged to Trinity Lutheran Church, Borger, Texas, and was a life member of the VFW Post No. 1714, Dodge City, and American Legion Post No. 222, Minneola. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II as a radio man, first class.
In May 1947, he married
Margaret Graddy at Winslow, Ark. She died Aug. 17, 1978.
Survivors include: five daughters, Barbara Orr, Wichita, Linda Bailey, Coronado, Calif., Donna Minor, Minneola, Karen Staab, Dodge City, and Evelyn Clark, Hutchinson; two brothers, John Clark, Oakland, Calif., and William Clark, Copperas Cove, Texas; 13 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
Graveside service will be 2 p.m. Monday in the Kansas Veterans Cemetery, Fort Dodge, with the Rev. Dick Robbins presiding.

William R. Miller
LYONS - William Rowland Miller, M.D., 87, died, Dec. 23, 2004, at Indianapolis.
He was born March 25, 1917, in the Sand Hills near Lyons, the son of Moe and Leona Miller. He graduated from Lyons High School and attended Kansas State University and the University of Kansas. He graduated from medical school at Kansas City.
A retired orthopedic surgeon, he began his career as an Army medical officer during World War II. He then practiced for 20 years at Wichita, headed a spinal cord injury center for the University of Virginia and completed his career with Detroitís Henry Ford Hospital and Detroit Industrial Clinic.
He belonged to Lyonsí First United Methodist Church.
In June of 1942, he married
Muriel Frances Smith. She preceded him in death.
Survivors include: a son, Douglas Miller, M.D., Indianapolis.; two daughters, Donna Moody, Mountain Lakes, N.J., and Connie Stultz, Hattiesburg, Miss.; and five grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at a later date at Lyons.

Jack C. Putnam
NORTH NEWTON - Jack C. Putnam, 85, died Dec. 24, 2004, at Kidron Bethel Health Care, North Newton.
He was born April 2, 1919, at Bonner Springs, the son of Otto and Eva Cannon Putnam. He was a retired rural letter carrier for the U.S.Post Office.
He belonged to Salem United Methodist Church, Newton. He was a member of the Newton Masonic Lodge No. 142 AF&AM, Wichita Scottish Rite, Midian Shrine and Newton Harvey County Shrine Club and was a 33rd Degree Scottish Rite of the Wichita Consistery.
He married
Helen Long. She preceded him in death Aug. 2, 1986. He then married
Lucille Day. She preceded him in death March 21, 2004.
Survivors include: a son, James, Hutchinson; two daughters Janine Arnold and Joyce Hockett, both of Newton; a stepdaughter, Judy Mann, Wichita; a sister, Betty Goodnight, Newton; 10 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by four sisters, Florence Putnam, Ruth Irion, Madge Putnam and Anna May.
Funeral service will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at Salem United Methodist Church, Newton, with the Rev. Tom Schneider and Pastor Amanda Rempel presiding. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday at Peterson Funeral Home, Newton. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery, Newton.
